  1. I say a full half of Robbie would generate more than 113 yards of offense. Who in their right mind would say anything other than “what have we got to lose”?
  2. 2012 offense was better than this dumpster fire.
  3. Plus that UGA LB corp was fast. We couldn’t get outside. We won’t see that kind of containment again this year.
  4. DISCLAIMER— Class of ‘96. I love everything AU. If I get a 4 pack of boxers and one pair is crimson-ish I throw them away and I then I have a 3-pack. I once passed on a free, low mileage good-running Buick Regal offered by an aunt, due solely to the color. Exterior and interior was maroon. Just couldn’t do it. I am an out-of-shape salesman that knows less about football than most. But I watch the games closely. Let’s think about this. Thorne looks best in practice but scared to release the ball in games. Can’t pull the trigger. Geriner maybe not as good in practice but has the fastest release and that’s what Thorne is missing. and we do not know what he would do if given a few series…..as is, we lose a lot of games this year. for goodness sake nobody here including myself, can handle the 3-and-out, 10 punt games. We just love the team too much. Now, you can’t un-install an offense mid-season, I am told, but you can tweak what they have learned. I say run it every which a way, throw it rarely, at the right time, see what happens. Sure they will stack the box but our $15 million dollars worth of coaches and analysts ought to be able to come up with something there within the offense that they have installed. What do we have to lose by giving Geriner the first half? He’s a highly touted scholarship QB that everyone says has a fast release and he just may find a groove. Many of you act like the very thought of him starting a football game is absurd. Hell, Thorne tweaks an ankle and Ashford sprains a finger and he’s starting anyways. Ashford needs to get as many touches as possible because he most assuredly has the “it” factor in space. It’s undeniable. He’s as fast and shifty and as fearless as they come. 10 touches a game (non-wildcat) and they will talk about him on national sports shows every week. If we do scale this bulls**t offense back and concentrate on the run, I think Auburn does best when we have a FULLBACK and I think Sean Jackson is the man for that job. Anyhoo, I don’t pretend to know jack but I know this offense is putrid (debate the reasons for this all you want but the fact remains) and a few practices per week ain’t gonna change that.
  5. All he dreams about is starting a big game for us. Or at least I hope that is his mindset. I see Thorne or Robbie going 9/27. So does everyone else. Nothing to lose here. At all. Might as well see if Holden is any good. Plenty of teams start true freshmen QBs and he’s got a year on any of them. We’ve been torched by some in the past. A backup lit us up last week. It’s his second year in the program. He has played QB his whole life. He has been a part of this team for 18 months. Had just as much time to learn CHF offense as anyone else. If he can’t start or is scared to start a football game at home then we wasted a scholarship. I remember UGA had 3-4 QBs hurt one year and had to put WR Hines Ward under center. Marshall OLine had to carry that fat QB gunslinger up to the new LOS and he would throw for 25, they would carry him up, he throw for 20, carry him up…..
  6. Most likely score here. Defense plays great but ends up gassed as our worst-in-class offense goes 3 and out 3 and out 3 and out in a loop. I truly believe we could get some first downs if we ran it 75% of the time but we don’t seem to want to do that.
  7. Yes but that was a sloppy football game and we looked and played like crap, they just played worse. It was a fairly hollow victory. We will get there with Freeze, and this lack of talent helps with recruiting. Earlier playing time and the kids we all want have never waited to play.
  8. I think that “cherry picking two of the best players on a scrappy smaller conference team” is a better way of describing this versus “raiding UNT”
  9. If we have the OLine to make it happen, and if Ashford and RBs are naturally gifted with the vision required, and the hands, the zone read would be just so magical with those athletes. That’s a LOT of ifs. LOl. That’s my favorite O to watch. Wear them down and exhaust them plus it’s so wonderfully demoralizing!
  10. We need Ashford to get touches, regardless. Not BS packages where the D sees it a mile away. He’s as shifty as they get. And fearless.
  11. Hindsight being a crystal clear 20/20, Harsin completely gave up year 2. I mean, on Fall Friday nights, the man would watch his son RIDE THE BENCH. Instead of recruiting high school football players, on, say, FRIDAY NIGHTS, he watched his son dress up in uniform and not play football.
  12. As Ashford matures and trains, he’s going to get better. Better development than he’s ever seen. Then put a legit OLine in front of him, better and more creative play-calling, older and improved receivers, and transfer receivers and tight ends? Establish the run to spread the defense? I think he will be damn good.
  13. The UVA LB has started 4 years and has 372 total tackles. You read that right.
  14. OL looking like this is the first time they have ever suited up and they got a 15 minute tutorial on what to do. Never seen anything like this.
  15. To have absolutely nothing drawn up for the red zone is inexcusable. I watched college football all day today and I can’t tell you how many good red zone plays I saw, that resulted in touchdowns. These Boise idiots are awful. Clearly in over their heads. I’ve seen it in bigger, sloppier run companies and the results are atrocious and then major changes are made. Somewhat capable of explosive plays here and there but nothing solid and consistent. Players are trying hard. Defense is mean.
  16. I don’t care if you pulled three children out of a burning building, if you cannot Hold on to the football than you do not get to Touch the football
  17. This defense is really really stout. Gave up very few explosive plays. The playcalling is awful. God-awful. 7 or 8 turnovers, losing 4 or 5. That’s not necessarily on the coaches but IT IS if they keep playing the fumblers. Awful hard to watch. Harsin and his boys are waaaaay out of their league. 21 unanswered while turning it over like that? Harsin and anyone calling these plays are really bad football coaches. 4th and 10+ and going for it twice? He needs to go to San Jose State or maybe he can get a NM State back to playing .500 football. That’s his future. That’s his wheelhouse.
  18. Defense is good. Everyone not named Caddy, associated with the offense, needs to be fired. Horrible play calling.
  19. Western Kentucky beat FIU 73-0 yesterday. We couldn’t beat Auburn High 73-0. That’s no gimme there
  20. Couldn’t watch the game today due to work. Looking at the statistics it look like tank ran for about 2 yards per carry, we had a little over 200 yards total for the game at home. Was the playcalling inept? OLine offered no push and no pass protection? Did we just have a total inability to move the ball? Looks like our defense limited Missouri to relatively little yardage. Was it as bad as I am reading about? Why do you think we have not seen any kind of creativity? Or is this completely due to lack of a athletes or can somebody like big bird who knows what he’s talking about—-Do you put this on the coaches shoulders?
  21. I lost hope after State put up 42 unanswered. This sloppy play is awful. The PSU DLine got to the QB in the same amount of time if we literally had no 300 pounders in front of them. 2012 was brutally hard to watch and this ain’t far behind it. Surprised if we beat Missouri. This is a 4-5 win team, bar a miracle. Don’t we have ANY OLinemen we can try? These starters are the worst I’ve ever seen in an AU uniform.
  22. Every single snap, they absolutely abused our OLine. Just embarrassing. Hard to believe what I just watched. Folded like a cheap suit. Guys in our backfield without being touched. Blocking backs standing watching rushers run by them. Proverbial turd in the punch bowl. We are abysmal.
  23. Awful. Full house, top recruits, just manhandled. Lousy offense and lousy defense. Worst OLine performance I can remember. Sloppy and undisciplined everywhere. Just horrible.
  24. I’m shocked we are this bad. It’s all aspects. A really bad football team with awful coaching. It is what it is.
  25. Brought RB back to block, snap ball and the blocker weakly runs forward 4 yards and TOUCHED NOBODY. . Edge ran right by him and grabbed Ashford. Horrible coaching.
