  1. Watching with my old man tonight. He's not on any message boards. Just a regular fan. All game he's saying that Ashford keeps his eyes downfield way better than Nix. Creates more explosive plays by finding guys downfield, which we have lacked for years. Robby isn't as good as Nix right now, but he showed me a lot of promise.
  2. I'm gutted for the players, but I'm ready for a lot of the older guys to move on. Nothing personal, as I appreciate their efforts, but it blows my mind how almost every dumb penalty, missed tackle, or screwup seems to come from 6th year seniors or players who have been playing for 3 years. Time for new guys to make mistakes
  3. I'm depressed, but we really do have some promising young offensive talent for the first time in years. Robby, Quez, Damari, Omari, Camden... that's a good core to build on for the next HC. Comes down to if we can patch the OL
  4. Good lord they aren't throwing games. We were all expecting to get blown out and they had em ready to play. He just can't out-coach SEC coaches. See the second halves
  5. Pro-style version of Gus. Draws up a good drive but then gets too cute and gimmicky in the red-zone
  6. Take solace in the young offensive players. This staff has done a lot wrong, but they appear to have brought in some straight up ballers at WR. Hopeful with Ashford and the young RB's too
  7. Great game-plan. Not mad at coaching that half. That could quickly change obviously because our second halves have been horrible under Harsin. We simply continue to be let down by older players making horrible mistakes. Carlson, Pappoe blew a horrible coverage, Trox getting beat, etc
  8. This is what puzzles me. I've watched a lot of Boise highlights over the years. Obviously, they were probably the most talented team in the MWC and the D's they faced weren't great; however, it was always a fun and creative offense to watch. Really, just a good scheme and a well-coached offense out there. And whether we like it or not, CBH was arguably the brainchild behind it during their glory years, under Coach Pete as OC and then as HC. Now watching him he looks like a total dumb-ass out there with this offense. There's almost a part of me wondering if he forgot how to coach offense on the plane ride over. I no longer think he's the man for the job, but I also find it hard to fathom that he went from such a bright offensive mind and play-caller to a joke overnight that has zero clue how to scheme. Thus, I am tempted to believe this is a personnel issue, which still falls mostly on him, of course, for not bringing in more portal guys to fit his scheme a little better.
  9. You get Sanders as HC and tell him to be a CEO. Get Zimmer as DC and some young NFL guy as OC and you're cooking. Only guy that can close our talent gap. His son will also come, and he's really good. My only concern is that someone said his son once threw like 5 picks in a game last year and he refused to bench him. We've seen too much blind faith in QB's around here. Just make players earn it and bench them when they do bad.
  10. Needs to happen badly. Andy is as great of a guy as it gets, and he was thrust into an unimaginable situation. Immense respect for him. However, he is simply not good at his job. I was told he referred to Missouri as "Stanford" pretty much the whole game. That's extremely embarrassing, and happens often. If we're going for a fresh start, lets' make the switch now. Andy can still call Basketball and Baseball. He's probably overworked anyways.
  11. I have seen you criticize Harsin's daughters over the attire they wear to games, and you want Freeze?! Wow
  12. Looking at it objectively, I think we do have a solid team in many position rooms, but the OL, QB, and LB rooms are so bad, that they are sinking the rest of the team and making the other rooms look worse than they are. Under this staff, which is not good, I do think RB depth has improved and WR play has moved in the right direction. I also think our DB room has a lot less dead weight and is getting deeper. James and Scott>>> Simp/Pritch. Those are this staffs recruits. Thanks Zac, Caddy, and Ike/Corn/Kiesau. LB room is the perfect example of poor job's by both staffs combining for an epic disaster. Twill's recruiting fell way off at the end. Pappoe, Riley, and Steiner are not SEC players. However, I blame this staff for not recognizing that and getting a true MIKE out of the portal. Same for OL. You can't replace all 5, but you gotta grab 2 portal guys to at least patch it a little. That's this staff's main problem, and they have a bunch. They have refused to address the talent deficiencies they inherited at these position rooms.
  13. Kirby about to play 3d chess. Like the predator teasing it's prey. He knows we aren't a threat so long as CBH is here. So watch him tell his coordinators to make it look "close" so that CBH has to stay longer, lol
  14. Whoever decided to give Mel Tucker 95 mil should never be allowed to work in college athletics again. And yes, that includes at the FCS level
  15. The Arkansas State coaching tree is pure poison
  16. What's the one thing Harsin, Gus, and Drink have in common? All from the Arkansas State tree. Can we please stay away from this tree at all costs... We may hire Hartwell. Blake Anderson is from the Arky State tree. Hugh Freeze is too. Frick
  17. Long post incoming, but my hypothesis: The issue is that the PTB are no longer united among themselves anymore. They can't and won't agree on these things right now, because there is no clear alpha dog booster in Lowder anymore to keep them in line and on the same page, and there is no puppet AD or President for them to work through. That is why we have had all these issues in the past 5 or so years. Lowder exited. Jacobs holds on for a few more years (2017), and then goes. Neither one of them were great, but they at least had communication flowing and people relatively on the same page. What we see next is an epic disaster. Harbert splits off on one side and becomes best friends with Leath. Jimmy Sexton takes them to the shed and we are stuck in a horrible contract situation. Meanwhile Rane and co are in other factions. Power struggle between these two. Board keeps getting pulled in two directions. Y'all remember how there used to be reports from 2018-2020 of how we had board members that kept swinging back and forth on whether to fire Gus or not. I bet that was because they were getting pulled in two different directions by Rane (fire Gus) and Harbert (keep Gus). They finally see enough and can Gus, but due to no unity, leadership, communication, and plan amongst each other, the coaching search is an epic clusterfrick. Finally Gogue, ADAG, Burgess, and Riggins say enough is enough, break off, and go in incognito mode and hire Harsin. Right decision to take control, poor hire. I may be way off in this, but this is my theory from putting various message board posts together over the past 4 years or so. We have no choice but to move away from the good ole boy system because the guys that made it work are no longer around. There is no unity among them. It's a disaster. Our only hope is for Roberts to ignore everyone and let his employees run the ship.
  18. There is enough to hammer Harsin right now by our performance on the field Saturday. The media meltdown about how he's addressed QB injuries has been weird. The cats ended up getting out the bag with TJ and Calzada, but as of Monday I don't blame him for trying to not make things even easier on Drinkwitz than they already are.
  19. If we pull 4-1 off, I think it guarantees he at least gets to finish off the regular season. 4-2 after UGA, it would really come down to how he does in the backstretch this time around.
  20. I personally think Roc is the perfect fit for that job should it come to it
  21. I'm excited to watch Geriner. He fits this offense the best. Unlikely much changes, but at this point I'm ready for a youth movement. These SR's have been poor for a while now. The only way things change, besides coaching change, is to also change the personnel. Bring on the young gun
  22. Why not? You'd rather just stand by and play it safe while our two main rivals are lapping us? If this was 2013 or even 2020 I'd agree with you, but not now. It's time for drastic action, and sometimes that comes with huge risk
  23. Hugh just doesn't feel nearly as genuine or real to me as Bruce does, but that's jmo. In regards to Deion though, just keep Fabianich on to run the personnel side of things. Get an experienced DC and a young, innovative OC and we're rocking. Deion would just need to manage the game, which of course is no small task
  24. Under Lowder at least there was a clear cut leader that had all of them falling in line. An On3 poster explained it today. Now it's just a bunch of factions. The Rane/Dye faction, the Harbert faction, etc. Harbert and his pal Leath did the Malzahn extension. Basically they have struggled for power between each other and it's pulled the board in different directions over different decisions. Seems to me like they are cancelling each other out. Hoke is now saying that he's hearing Roberts is ready to put his foot down and be his own man. Gosh I hope so. Don't wanna see another Kirby Smart blown hire situation... yet again
  25. Between this and Marcus Harris' comments today it seems as if Holden is mobilizing some locker room support this week @abw0004
