  1. So, if passing is working why would you consistently move to the run on 3D and short when you haven’t been able to run the entire first half. Not a coach just curious.
  2. Head First with Direct TV and Target the NFL Ticket.
  3. I have a friend here in NW FL who’s a nurse. She is saying that 80% of the those currently hospitalized are fully vaccinated.
  4. Just got on and see AS and SW. is Eli Stove playing?
  5. There are a lot of folks on this board that appreciate our insights and objectivity. I for one would appreciate it if you continue to post and let the mods deal with the smart asses.
  6. Most of the good DBs read the receivers eyes. When the receiver sees the ball coming he's focusing and you can read his eyes. At that point, a DB should be turning his head.
  7. This is the exact play I was referencing earlier and as you stated, I can understand running from the same formation but giving the same guy the ball after its obvious he ran out of steam is something I dont understand.
  8. This is not the thread but Gus admitted in the interview 'SEC in 60' that the second half we were going to run the ball. In the first half of that game we split the plays pass/run. Yes MSST made some adjustments but Gus and AU did not play the same game they did the first half. AU ran to slow the game. AU could have hung more on MSST that game. Did we even score the second half? I don't care how you color it that's taking your foot of the gas IMO.
  9. Thanks Stat. I don't think he will have to hit the TE often just enough to make the D respect the potential and defend it. I guess that's the case for the passing game in general if you're a run first O. Personally, I would sure like to see some of those short crossing routes utilized early and often.
  10. Count me in the camp of until I see them play this year none of them are NFL ready. Until they prove it on the field.. We have a lot of pieces that have potential but until that potential is displayed and we begin dominating other teams, I'll remain in the wait and see mode.
  11. Not to derail the derail but this JG kid seems like he's all AU at this point. Looking forward to seeing how he does this year.
  12. If the kid comes to AU, if he's a take, he will have the chance to punch UGA in the mouth for the next 4 years.
  13. That could be a good thing if it's one or the other and both are takes. Which one seizes the opportunity first. Unless the coaches have a preference.
  14. Seems to me that if a school (coach) can convince a kid to not visit school x in favor of visiting school y, that kid never had any intentions of going to/committing to the first school.
  15. I would say SW'S performance depends on 3 things. First and obvious is his health. Then it's the run game. If KP and KJ open up that can and begin to pour it on, SW should have time to throw it. Then there is the 3rd thing, will Gus allow SW to throw it.
  16. They have been killing our D for the past 4 years with TEs and we still don't use them effectively. Not goung to hold my breath.
  17. lionheart, thank you that's exactly what I was trying to say.
  18. A lot of people have accused CRL of being a 'yes man'. If we tell Gus he has to evolve or fired, is this not the same thing as turning Gus in to a 'yes man'. If you put a number of 'Ws' as a stipulation of Gus maintaining his job, a rock star QB can save him regardless of the scheme. The expectations should have been laid when Gus was hired. If they weren't they should have been in his latest Contract Extension. That is what AU needs to hold Gus accountable to. if Gus is not performing up to expectations, he needs to go without levying ultimatums.
  19. Anyone can look at my posts since the Clemson game and see if am NO Gus fan but the minute you start dictating how a coach should do his job you might as well fire him. He gets paid extremely good to coach this team. If he can't do it then straight up fire him but you don't pay someone to do something and then tell him how to do the job. IMO this will make it extremely difficult to get a quality replacement for fear of meddling. As bad as I despise Saban, I do admire him for not allowing anyone tell him how to run his team.
  20. I think the message all the players should take is everyone is replaceable. If you can't get the job done, next man up. I think part of Gus's problem is he has been loyal to a fault. I believe in giving everyone every opportunity to succeed but there comes a time when he has to move on to the next kid that can perform. This has been evident in our receivers this year, IMO.
  21. I'm not knocking what you said but it seems like this was the sentiment during this past off season. And he got a contract extension/pay raise before the season started! I'm not going to fret too much over 10-2 and beating UGA but that mess of a scheme he runs is getting old and hard to watch. I personally hope RL moves on only to succeed. I think he has definitely ben a scapegoat and if the next OC comes in and the same thing happens, it should become obvious. I've defended Gus since he got here but I've had a belly full of his 5 plays this year with the occasional surprise sprinkled in every now and then. I know others have said it but we have shined against lesser competition but fall short against good competition. Oh yeah, Happy Thanksgiving. War Eagle.
