  1. Ole Miss extended Bianco for four years. Next year might be rough for Ole Miss as they will lose their top two starters(Nikhazy and Hoglund), top two hitters(Elko and Kevin Graham), top two bullpen guys(Taylor Broadway and Max Cioffi), and their only top recruit is most likely a top ten pick in the draft(Jackson Jobe) and going pro, as the rest of their class is not really noteworthy(ranked 33rd by perfect game with Jobe).
  2. I think it's just Mississippi State that does, not Ole Miss. But yeah if MSU can offer in-state tuition like Auburn and Alabama, of course the more elite players in Alabama will choose MSU more often than not. And that's not Butch's fault. See how many of MSU's good players over the years are from Alabama like Trevor Fitts(Richard's brother), Tanner Allen, Rowdey Jordan, Hunter Stovall, etc... Even the lone high school prospect from Alabama in MLB Draft's top 250(Maddux Bruns) is headed to MSU. Heck the amount of kids Butch has gotten to forgo the draft is impressive enough. Butch has only lost 4 HS and 2 JUCO guys to the draft since he's been at Auburn. Alex Speas-$1,024,900 (2016 draft number 63, 2nd round) Ricardo De La Torre-$550,000 (2018 draft number 166, 5th round) Evan Steele-$826,500(2017 draft, number 73, comp Round (JUCO) Blake Rivera--$528,800(2018 draft, number 106, 4th round) (JUCO) Gunnar Henderson-$2,300,000(2019 draft, number 42) Werner Blakely-$900,000(2020 draft, number 111) He's gotten guys like Garrett Wade, Steven Williams, Hayden Mullins, Tanner Burns and Cole Foster to pass on huge money to come here, and John Ceccoli to skip the draft and sign a year early(wish it'd worked out). Heck Wade, Burns, Williams and Mullins were projected late 1st round-2nd round picks. It's hard to get those guys projected that high to come to campus. Butch has recruited well even though it sucks we lost Bohannon. But apparently next year's class(not for the 2022 season, the 2023) is 7th or 8th right now according to Perfect Game. We are on an uneven playing field.
  3. https://247sports.com/college/auburn/Article/Auburn-baseball-166784846/ Auburn gets a grad transfer from Samford, Brooks Carlson. His brother, Parker, is an incoming recruit for the 2022 season. Batted .344 in his four years at Samford. Makes me think that the staff believes/knows Miller is gone. Here are his stats from 2018-2021. 2018-.345/.430/.544 230 AB 78 H, 16 2B, 1 3B, 9 HR, 27 BB, 8 HBP, 35 SO 2019-.345/.429/.518 226 AB, 78 Hits, 17 2B, 2 3B, 6 HR, 30 BB, 6 HBP, 46 SO 2020-.500/.644/.760 50 AB, 25 H, 4 2B, 3 HR, 20 BB, 2 HBP, 4 SO 2021-.301/.409/.478 186 AB, 56 H, 13 2B, 1 3B, 6 HR, 30 BB, 4 HBP, 38 SO Has a 15.32 K%

(Strasburg Express Baseball: Home (pointstreak.com)_ Cannot find any stats for Blake Rambusch my apologies.
  6. MSU can offer in state tuition to Alabama residents in addition to scholarships. Our recruiting class this year is 33rd but next year’s class is ranked 7th by perfect game. A down year for sure. Be interesting to see who decommitted from LSU
  7. Given that Trace Bright is pitching, I'd expect Barnett to do summer league. Don't know where. But we will find out when cape cod league starts. Dyal has already been playing games at Charlottesville, doubt he leaves. Players don't leave summer league unless injured, go pro or play for team USA. Also Nate LaRue has been pitching as well for Strasburg Express in addition to catching. He's listed as a UTIL for this reason. Don't know if he is also playing other positions as well.
  8. I know the staff has a specific list of coaches they send summer ball guys in. Damon Haecker was a cape cod coach we sent guys to for example. So it doesn’t surprise me we keep sending guys to Charlottesville or Danville because Butch trusts those coaches with his players.
  9. Our student section is not as energetic as say Tennessee's. Auburn's student section just does your typical remarks whereas I've seen Tennessee get onto batters that haven't had a hit in that series by chanting " 0 for 8" and get more vicious. Also Tennessee's student section is so close to first base. Tells you how effective they are if Mainieri complained they got in the head of some of his players. Also didn't help for the longest time that the student section was in the nosebleeds and they only gave a few rows. They did rectify that by putting more student section seats down the left field line. Plus the crowd at Auburn isn't as energetic. Whenever the student section tries to copy the ball four tradition from Texas A&M, no one else joins in. Even the rally dance, it's just the student section. They need to add more seats in the OF. Incorporate more involvement from the fans. Auburn needs to find a way to utilize the fans in the parking deck to come to the stadium. They've tried, with the Patio where you could have adult beverages, and adding a few more seats to the student section. But truth is besides the Green Monster, Plainsman Park seems bland compared to almost every other team in the SEC.
  10. Alexandria Aces for the Cal Ripken League has several Auburn guys. John Armstrong(recruit), Blake Burkhalter, Garrett Farquhar and Josh Hall are all on the team.
  11. I agree on the outfield seating. Having seats on the Monster would be huge. A recreation of Fenway park. Unfortunately with the recent building in right field, don't think there can be seats there, but in right center and center would be huge too. May be a bit too costly for a new stadium but this is the best they can try right now. I'm not sure how involved some of our older famous alums are with Auburn. Like I don't see much involvement from Frank Thomas. Bo seems more on the football side. Obviously Josh Donaldson, Gregg Olson, Casey Mize, Tim Hudson, Gabe Gross are all involved and may even donate a good bit. One of the benefits of having Peyton Glavine on the team is his dad likes Auburn enough to send another kid here. Possibly also some donations as well. Anyways, just to point this out it seems like we always have a kid on the team since Butch's first full year that he has a dad that is involved in Major League baseball. 2017: Mike Rojas, Brett Olson 2018: Peyton Glavine, Brett Olson, Mike Rojas 2019: Peyton Glavine, Brody Moore, Brett Olson 2020: Peyton Glavine, Mason Greer, Brody Moore 2021: Peyton Glavine, Brody Moore 2022: Seaver Sheets, Wes Helms, Bordy Moore
  12. O'Sullivan rejected LSU and LSU is no longer interested in Pat Casey(Oregon State former head coach). The head coach search for LSU might be interesting.
  13. The player development center behind right field was approved under Greene. I think Auburn has done the scoreboard, lights, turf under Butch's tenure. Greene has been willing to spend.
  14. Bryson Ware was listed as a SS for his Cape Cod League team, so seems like Auburn is planning for him to become an IF next year. Cam Hill is looked at as a 1B/P but listed as a P so doesn't seem like Auburn has given up on him as a P. Also a couple of guys have gone to performance training centers for the summer. Carson Swilling is in Tennessee and was clocked at 93 mph. Peyton Glavine is in Florida. So if Glavine doesn't go pro, things look good for him coming back, but then again his dad can arrange something.
  15. Mason Land is in the Pioneer League with the Burlington Bees. https://www.thehawkeye.com/story/sports/2021/06/04/prospect-league-baseball-bees-hit-parade-provides-sixth-straight-win/7552499002/ Also some JUCO guys could still be playing like Riggs Threadgill is right now.
  16. Blake Rambusch is in the Five Tool Collegiate Summer League https://twitter.com/fivetoolcollege/status/1400182619069947904?s=21
  17. https://www.instagram.com/p/CPjQZtitEG2/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link LaRue posted this with the caption implying he'd be back. I mean sure I could be looking into this too hard but I don't think someone would post that and then leave. Also Judd has not posted anything about leaving Auburn yet unlike Williams, Glavine, Greenhill and Owen and it was mentioned he'd be the most likely to stay. Also Butch choose Schorr to stay as the 3rd string catcher when Williams could no longer catch due to his thumb rather than Sybrandt. I guess now the odds of the backup catchers leaving are from highest to lowest: Sybrandt, Schorr, LaRue.
  18. He passed up MSU for us when Cannizaro resigned and Henderson was their interim
  19. Tyler Drabick of Lipscomb announced he'd transfer here. I believe he's a grad transfer. Edit: He is a grad transfer but Lipscomb was where he originally grad transferred to. So this is the free transfer.
  20. I was told by a source that Gonzalez, Skipper, and Swillling won't do pro ball. I imagine due to the innings and I wouldn't be surprised if Barnett also does the same. Not sure on the new guys. I doubt Miller does draft league, Fitts probably does as he has more to gain. Usually the older starters don't do summer league in the past. And Hall injured his foot, so I don't think he does summer league.
  21. Out of curiosity, what board is that? And yeah like I said, if they can convince him to be a pitcher, that's how I can see it. But right now he needs to . I mean he was redshirted this year along with Schorr, Sybrandt, Snell and Ceccoli, and there is a lot of pitchers coming in. Probably the main reasons.
  22. So here are my thoughts on who will most likely be gone: note Seb Thomas, Carter Frederick and Johnny Ceccoli have all left already. Right now Woley, Williams, Greenhill, Ward, Owen and Glavine are gone as graduates, and Bliss is most likely gone to the draft. Fitts and Miller are the next two to join him if they leave, with Skipper and Howell being a wild card to leave as well. That is 3 P's, 2 OF's and 1 IF in the grads, with 2 IF's, 1 OF and 2 P's in the draftees. I believe Nate LaRue, Payton Sybrandt, and Kade Snell are most likely gone, unless Butch convinces LaRue to stay as a pitcher, because they've transitioned LaRue to a sidewinder. Since there aren't many catchers in this class, and we only have Dyal rn, I could see Schorr staying, especially if Owen doesn't come back. He's on the trip to Mizzou rn even as a redshirt and Sybrandt already went home. I could see Hall, Peirce, Brown, Fuller and Sokol leaving. Fuller is a walk on though, with one southpaw pitcher coming in and Fuller wasn't recruited heavily, so there's a chance he stays. Depending on who gets switched to the OF(Moore for example, and Ware if he doesn't come back to the IF), Hall, Peirce and Brown could leave, but there is only one OF recruit. Sokol may leave depending on how the draft turns out, because the class is pitcher heavy. I believe we have 7 pitchers coming in rn. Calvin Zeigler is the most likely recruit to get drafted. However, Butch has a great history of having players turn away big money to come to Auburn with Cole Foster, Davis Daniel, Garrett Wade, Steven Williams and Tanner Burns being the biggest examples. Then again it's possible like last year with John Griffin Bell and Logan Austin that some recruits leave. Here's the incoming class: Note with JUCO guys, the actual year of eligibility is listed. If it says "Sophomore", it's really a junior with the extra year with COVID. C Harrison Owen-? IF Mason Land-JUCO, “Sophomore” Blake Rambusch-JUCO, “Junior” Luke Burk-JUCO, “Sophomore” Seaver Sheets Brody Moss- Wesley Helms OF Mike Bello P Calvin Zeigler-RHP Chase Allsup-RHP Korbin Griffin-LHP Sawyer Toney-RHP John Armstrong-RHP Jordan Armstrong-RHP, JUCO “Junior” Riggs Threadgill-RHP, JUCO “Sophomore” Trevor Horne-RHP Parker Carlson-RHP Ben Bosse-RHP Cade Granzow-RHP
  23. I heard Jack would be back probably in the next two weeks. But around SEC play. Nothing since then, but he's progressed from a splint to tape with that finger.
  24. They said there was the option to halve the draft to 20 rounds, but it's supposed to be 40. For all intents and purposes for college recruiting, basically business as usual.
  25. I see Auburn got another Olson son. Ryan is the son of Gregg.
