  1. Obviously all the current players won't go due to Omaha but thought this was interesting.
  2. I’m glad it didn’t take us 22 years to return back to Omaha again.
  3. Apparently I've been told Edouard Julien is quite a firecracker in the minor leagues now. Someone that lived in the town he played minor league ball last year said he got in quite a few arguments with umpires over balls and strikes. But yes I love his passion(even though it led to both shoulders being dislocated and more last year). I think he could have gone pro had that 2020 season not been cancelled and he not been injured in 2021. But alas.
  4. I miss Judd too. I was told Butch told him Judd had a spot on the team, but the damage on both his shoulders to rehab and him having to do grad school was just a reason why he didn't want to come back.
  5. I know this was posted by an MSU baseball fan account who has had lots of experience with Butch at MSU, but it's nice to see Butch getting credit as one of the top tier coaches in college baseball by other fan bases(OSU was really complimentary as well). Heck the comments in that post by MSU fans say they still wish they hired Butch after the Cannizaro controversy.
  6. I watched Brooks Fuller's Instagram Live showing the celebration, and he just poured all his love to Auburn in that video. He said, "That's why you don't transfer!" I know he's struggled last two years but it was heartwarming to see that.
  7. Yeah after the MTSU and Ole Miss series, I think most people will take the result of this season if we lose tonight if you told them then what would happen during the season. We can still win this though. Hopefully all goes well tonight like 3 years ago against UNC.
  8. This situation happened last year in game 1 of Ole Miss where Dyal pinch hit for Ware. Dyal actually hit a bomb that was fair but was ruled foul and stayed foul because conveniently Ole Miss didn’t have a replay camera for that area of the ball park. It’s harder in a pinch hit situation, but I will vouch that Dyal has one of the best eyes when it comes to seeing what pitches to hit, but it’s a shame his contact ability is really bad(not as bad as Ware’s though). Even last year when he hit .200, his OBP was above .400. I doubt Butch promised Dyal AB’s. Dyal wasn’t a high recruit like LaRue/Mullins/Barnett/Allsup was. The only situation that can be argued he promised AB’s to someone was to Steven Williams(and I have my doubts on that).
  9. Grad Transfer OF from Kent State. We’re probably expecting to lose at least one of Peirce/Howell.
  10. Davis Daniel was the first big high school recruit Butch got to school. I know him being from Montgomery helped, but I'm glad he was one of the first guys to trust Butch at Auburn.
  11. Full credit to Sheehan today. He reminded me of Bailey Horn's 2019. Both did poorly to start recovering from partial Tommy John, but both turned it around late in the season, especially in the postseason, though to a lesser extent for Sheehan. Full credit to both those guys especially when Sheehan got flak early on(so did Horn early in 2019). I'm hoping Isbell returns because he'll be further along his recovery from partial Tommy John next year.
  12. https://www.montgomeryadvertiser.com/story/sports/college/auburn/2022/06/10/auburn-baseball-ncaa-tournament-super-regional-bobby-peirce/10005268002/
  13. Grad transfer from West Georgia that will transfer here. https://auburnwire.usatoday.com/2022/05/21/auburn-baseball-brody-wortham-transfer/
  14. Not to be harsh on Butch or his staff because it's not his fault, but it's impressive what Butch has done despite no lottery or recent program success compared to other SEC schools since he's been here. He's done more with less, and remember MSU, Ole Miss, Vandy, Tennessee and Georgia can offer in-state tuition to Alabama residents or better. Meaning Auburn can get beaten with their offers if one of those schools like said recruit. And despite that, we've had great success with the program. I mean Alabama's recruited better in the last classes since Bohannon's been there with 4 top 10 classes and they've only made one regional. Luckily Butch has a couple top 10 classes coming in the next two years if all goes well coming up soon, so hopefully things will continue to go well.
  15. Well Hjerpe pitched 30ish pitches two days after he pitched 100 in his start. Maybe fatigue will settle in for him. And sad to see Oregon State overusing pitchers didn't end with Pat Casey.
  16. Well after 2018, Auburn ponied up the money so Mississippi State couldn't take him when they were looking for a coach. And you know MSU is one of those programs that will pay up for baseball. I imagine after the last 3 full seasons, he's due another extension/pay raise. 2021 was rough but with COVID ruining training and him losing 10 pitchers within the first month of the season, I'm going to blame more on circumstance rather than coaching. He's done more with less and on general college baseball forums I've seen other fans acknowledge that Auburn's done well with their limitations(and it's almost always compared to Bama's because Bohannon has complained about scholarships and insulted a lot of teams/fanbases as a result). Honestly if Bama fires Bohannon, I'll take him back as long as his role only involves recruiting and not coaching but I heard they're planning to keep him another year.
  17. Yeah I had to hold the wires for kids so they don't fly off when they throw. Most kids are coordinated enough to catch balls so the ball doesn't hit you, but I've had some kids that had no business being there with their coordination being really bad to where I had to duck when the catcher threw the ball back(don't have a glove because both hands were busy with the wires). Honestly, the Kinesiology department is really good for Auburn. I just wish they had more usage than just the US Olympic Handball teams or Polo or the Auburn softball teams. I guess it's easier to do your own stuff as a baseball team if tracking is in your own stadium but I wish the baseball team worked with us more. But we did have an MLB team scout show up and look into working with us right before COVID
  18. Softball had to use the Kinesiology building for data tracking while baseball got its own stuff for that. I know because while doing research with the Kinesiology building, we worked with the softball team many times, but the baseball team would never do so.
  19. May not be the best time for this, but we got a transfer from Miami (OH) with two years of eligiblity left(he is draft eligible though)
  20. I honestly feel glad that Farquhar has been on the team as a utility guy. He's not that great but at least we have someone capable defensively and can take some walks as a fill in. Foster's been hitting really well since SEC play began. I think he struggled at first because it was his first time playing an extended starting role, and Ryan Bliss went through the same process in his freshman year before picking things up in conference play and the playoffs.
