But regardless, no, not “anybody with half a brain” sees that Deion will be successful at Colorado. He’s a brand new coach with very little experience. If your goal posts are him making Colorado “better”, he’s already done that. They were 1-11 last year. Nobody is disputing that he’s taken them from the absolute worst and made some progress. He has and should be commended for it. But a poster in this thread literally said they’re scared he’s the next Nick Saban. Finebaum talking about him succeeding Nick at Alabama. People saying he’s building the U from the 80’s. Based. On. What?????

Why, Rand? What makes you think Deion is going to close the gap and surpass Lanning’s Oregon team? What has Deion done to generate this type of fear from people, aside from nonstop talk?

Goodness gracious. See, this is why people are sick of Colorado. Deion hasn’t turned anything around. He’s beaten 3 terrible teams and now he’s the next Nick Saban. They aren’t even going to make a bowl.

I didn’t say CFB coaches care about their players. Most don’t. Most DO care about coaching football. Deion has only been doing it at any level for 5 years? All five were coaching his kids. Does he love coaching football or love spending time with his kids? If anything, it’s a compliment to Deion to say his primary motivation might only be to coach his children, and when that’s done, he may not feel like doing it anymore. We’ll see.

Got to say I was really impressed with Prime’s postgame presser. Thought we’d be able to tell a lot about whether he was really all-in with coaching in the wake of a loss. Was humble but had great energy that projected resilience. I still am unsure how passionate he’ll be when he’s not around all 3 of his sons every day, but might have caught the coaching bug.

Too early to give up hope GWill. We’ve been bad but I expect to see us grow even this year. Certainly in years to come. I think Freeze is a legit passing game architect.

I’m definitely not a proponent of Thorne being the guy. We’re just guessing at why he’s been so bad. I’d run it with Ashford or I’d start Thorne one more week just because I wouldn’t want Holden’s first start to be that UGA defense. Maybe they tell Thorne next week he gets a half and to just go have fun. He’s currently playing not to mess up. Give him the half and let him know it’s make or break - and playing tight is certainly going to break him.

It’s not translating at all. We’re not arguing about that. Thorne is horrible right now. The argument is whether or not he was always horrible. The relevance is, if he was always this bad CHF shouldn’t have taken him, and if he wasn’t then we need to figure out how to fix him.

Another issue might be the coaches aren’t letting him gunsling and it’s broken him. I quote his TDs a lot but he also had a LOT of INTs at MSU. But that’s just what you get with a guy like that. You have to let him spin it or don’t play him. You won’t win championships that way but you can win games with a QB who throws a pick or two a game. But you won’t win jack with a QB that is as inept as PT right now.

I think he’s pressing way too hard. And his signals are all scrambled. The coaches are not calling plays to whatever strengths he does have, which seem to be shorter rhythm throws. But honestly it may be just a mental thing. He could have the yips from trying too hard and putting too much pressure on himself. He’s a college coach’s kid I think. Sometimes that’s the absolute worst for a player.

That’s what sour grape fans always do. We did the same with Bo Nix. Like I said in another thread, Thorne threw 46 TDs in two seasons. Those two years alone would put him at 2nd all time here behind Pat Sullivan!!! And what’s wilder is he did it at a mid-tier Big Ten school. Not like he was throwing to Ohio State’s WR corp. The kid obviously has to be serviceable to do that.

Definitely entertained but actively rooting against Colorado. I’m sure Deion has no problem with that. He’s played heel before. As long as people are watching I’m sure he’s happy.

I, nor anybody I know, thinks Auburn deserves to be considered a contender right now. We aren’t acting like we’ve done anything for 3 mediocre wins. And that’s where we differ from Colorado.

For sure. Not trying to “yuck” anybody’s “yum”. The fact Colorado-CSU is an interesting game is great for CFB.

A lot of what Deion does is fun. But I’ve had a desire to see him get some comeuppance since he released the video of him humiliating the inherited players in the first meeting. That’s inexcusable. Say what you want to those guys and run the team the way you want. But behind closed doors. Really, really didn’t like that.
