  1. He was never going to stay in CFB. He came to land the DL position. Only way to keep him here was to give him Some higher position (DC).
  2. The backups played very good. I would say their QB room was lights out better than ours. We minimize them bc we inherently believe SEC talent is much better when in actuality their players generally played better than ours all year. Just a difference of opinion.
  3. I do not put Maryland game in same light as NMSU. We should ot have looked so poorly against NMSu.
  4. Y’all must have same “gummies” connection!! Lol
  5. That plus he came right back after Roberts left.
  6. Khakis are not supposed to be high rise?? When did that change. Man I can’t keep up with this changing fashion stuff!!
  7. Wonder if he will coach a position also?
  8. There was not much pushback when he was hired by aTm, probably would still be there if HC had not gotten fired.
  9. Timeline may indicate we were waiting for Kiffin. Is there ever evidence that someone got turned down for a coordinator role?
  10. May have taken the folks doing the background check to get everyone comfortable.
  11. Bama starters should be higher rated than our starters in 2024 I believe.
  12. I agree but would require a change from NCAA I believe.
  13. Seems to me that universities should help fund NIL (but to stay compliant it should be blind trust ), coaches should also help ( they and universities are main beneficiaries of CFB).
  14. From what I understand (probably not much) analysts breakdown future opponents and devise gameplans which then are routed to Coordinators, before being shared with HC. Probably in actuality it depends on who you got in what role thst determines this.
  15. Need someone to call defense, I believe. Seems to not be Kelly’s forte.
  16. Gotcha. I knew it happens sometimes but not too often. Good find, he turned down a ST’s coaching position to stay in a head coaching position. But he still probably turned down a raise. I don’t think it’s just the money either, NFL is highest level of a job that most of them love and aspire to be the best at. I don’t think it’s always money. Seems to imply better for time spent with family. Not a negative in my mind to want to stay or go to NFL.
  17. That could definitely be true. I know he left his brother to go immediately back to NFL. But his team took him right back so they definitely did want him back.
  18. Ha, your correct. What OC/DC in college would want to go to NFL make more money and not have to recruit?? Crazy idea, I know. I’m thinking (my point) is anybody we hire is most likely to take an equivalent NFL job. I have tried to remember one that has turned down an offer to go to NFL but there may be a few that would rather work with young people to impact lives.
  19. Kiffin has never been an NFL DC after a long time at that side (his whole career outside of 1st), plus has many inside connections through his father. NFL DC not a likely scenario.
  20. I think waiting on all NFL DC’s chosen.
  21. That’s probably a better explanation than I gave. Don’t believe it was the same role that the new guy from LSU is doing though.
  22. I thought Reed’s job was more about players already in the system rather than recruitment. Know he did recruiting when 10 coaches were not on staff.
