  1. Some interesting points (from a coaching and play calling perspective). You can listen to the whole episode here: https://youtu.be/oX4I_-oXGjQ
  2. I worked for one of these CEOs and heard a lot of stories about the others while I worked in the tech industry. Believe me, these CEOs are all ruthless tough guys (esp Bezos) with great PR teams.
  3. Per reddit, confirmed gymnasts who recently attended the National team camp (leading to Team USA selection for this years World Championships in Japan in October): 5-star Leanne Wong (Florida commit) 5-star Kayla Di Cello (Florida commit) 5-star Olivia Greaves (Auburn commit) 5-star Ciena Alipio (UCLA commit) 4-star Skye Blakely (Florida commit) 4-star Emjae Frazier (California commit) 4-star Addison Fatta (uncommitted) 4-star Ava Sigfelt (Oklahoma commit) 3-star Amari Drayton (uncommitted) Not in Attendance 5-star Konnor McClain (LSU commit) - will participate in trials 3-star Zoe Miller (uncommitted)
  4. Perhaps. Most of his throws were very off target…and not just simply off target but very weird throws.
  5. This! Think Zach Wilson, Max Hall, Tanner Mangum, Brett Rypien, type of QB etc. I would love to get a BYU QB. These guys are talented, smart, mature, and disciplined. If you go way back, BYU produced Steve Young and Ty Detmer among others.
  6. McClain made a difference today. He is a true and vocal leader on the field. I think he won the game for us today! Someone hand him the keys to the President home, please!
  7. I am very concerned about the QB position. Finley lacks mobility and will get tested and exposed next week. Bo can probably only perform behind a veteran OL and with a bunch of NFL WR's at his disposal. For some reason, DDavis is not getting a fair shot. What about next season? How do we feel about Holden Geriner? Could he be another Bo Nix? I think we need to go shopping for a new QB (transfer portal).
  8. Actually, I prefer watching games on tv because I think it is the better experience overall (apart from the pre-game experience). I only go to the games when we play lesser opponents because I prefer watching the big games on tv. Anyways, I am going to the game today!
  9. Olivia Greaves is a highly ranked 5-star Sr. international elite gymnast & Auburn commit (ranked #9 in the 2022 class). _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ After Two Difficult Years, Olivia Greaves Finds Renewed Happiness in Elite and Auburn Gymnastics September 23, 2021 Full story: https://collegegymnews.com/2021/09/23/after-two-difficult-years-olivia-greaves-finds-renewed-happiness-in-elite-and-auburn-gymnastics/ At the U.S. championships in the summer of 2019, Olivia Greaves, a junior training at MG Elite, had the competition of a lifetime, winning gold on the uneven bars and bronze in the all around. As her career was taking off, the next obvious step seemed to be the 2020 Olympics. [...] The person who first put her in touch with Auburn head coach Jeff Graba was Olympic champion and incoming Tiger Sunisa Lee. “The day I lost my scholarship to Florida, [Suni] texted me right away and said she gave my number to the Auburn coaches,” Greaves explained. “She had been a true friend first and was so supportive to me throughout this whole process. I’m so incredibly proud of her for winning the Olympics, and I can’t wait to be teammates in college.” As Greaves visited Auburn, she knew from the beginning that she belonged there. “The coaches were different—they all want me to succeed not only with gymnastics but in life, too,” she said. “They were very welcoming on every level, and that made me feel like this is where I was meant to be.” [...] Before starting the next chapter of her life in college, though, Greaves hasn’t closed the door on elite yet. She’s “very ready to get back out” again, and she hopes her first big comeback meet will be the world championships in Japan in October. 10. Suni and Joseph Gordon Levitt on the Late Late Show with James Cordon watch it here PARTI: https://youtu.be/wmI_IemvLkU and PARTII:
  11. …which should open up the passing game, right? Right?
  12. Btw, Suni started an IG live session with Konnor during the Auburn/Penn State game. She was watching the game with a friend (in L.A.?). I did not watch the session (I was busy watching the game lol) but I read Konnor explained that 8-9 gymnasts would be invited to the upcoming selection camp for Worlds. This means realistic chances for OliviaG to be selected. So, Auburn gymnastics could potentially have another Sr. International Elite with World Championships experience on its team.
  13. Good points. This should ease the transition from elite to college gymnastics. Most top elite gymnasts initially struggle with having fun and being joyful in college gymnastic. The dance experience should also help her since competing on floor in college consists of more "dance elements" rather than elite gymnastics which is more artistry. The whole experience should help her to "loosen up". So do we want her to win it all or just gain some experience and have her back on campus asap? 😄
  14. SwimSwam 2021 recruiting class (Women): https://swimswam.com/ranking-the-2021-womens-ncaa-recruiting-classes-9-12/ 1-8, #9 Auburn, #10 Texas, #11 Wisconsin, #12 USC, #13 Indiana, #14 Notre Dame, #15 North Carolina, #16 Michigan #9: AUBURN TIGERS Top-tier additions: #8 Ellie Waldrep (TN – back/fly), HM Lexie Mulvihill (FL – free/fly), Rebekah Hamilton (AL – free/back), Avery Bargeron (GA – fly), Mykenzie Leehy (Houston transfer – free) The rest: Lucy O’Neill (AL – free/fly), Jenna Smith (CO – free/back), Abigail Farrar (FL – diving) Auburn brings in a talent-laden class led by Baylor Swim Club’s Ellie Waldrep, who rose to #8 this season in our class of 2021 re-rank after a monster season. Waldrep, who stagnated in her progression as a high school junior, dropped 51.7/1:53.7 backstrokes last year, slicing three-quarters of a second off her previous PB in the 100 and three seconds in the 200 to make her a potential NCAA ‘A’ finalist in the 100 and a top-16 swimmer in the 200. Waldrep also has a 53.6 100 fly, 1:58.7 200 IM and 23.0 50 free, and her 24.1 best time in the 50 back will give the Tigers a top-tier 200 medley relay lead-off over the course of her career (that time is already good enough to be mid-pack at NCAAs). Joining Waldrep in the class are high-end freestyle sprinters Lexie Mulvihill, Rebekah Hamilton and graduate transfer Mykenzie Leehy. After having no entrants in the 50 free at the 2021 NCAAs, with Anna-Julia Kutsch quitting mid-season, the Tigers project to have at least three this year. Mulvihill boasts lifetime bests of 22.22 and 49.35, with her 50 exactly on the time required to score at NCAAs last season. Her 100 is only about six-tenths off, and both are faster than anyone on Auburn’s roster went last season. The Florida native showed great improvement last season in the 100 fly as well, clocking 53.16 to put her within a half-second of an NCAA invite. Hamilton brings a similar skill set, as the local Alabama native has 22.5/48.9 free best times to make her a potential NCAA scorer and surefire relay contributor. With 53.8 best times in both the 100 fly and 100 back, Hamilton will be able to pick and choose which one she wants to zero in on in college. Leehy, who comes over for one season from Houston, will really enhance the sprint free presence this season with bests of 22.4/48.5, but her 200 free is her best event, with a 1:44.90 PB that’s only six-tenths outside of qualifying for an NCAA ‘A’ final based on last season’s results. Along with Mulvihill, Waldrep and Hamilton, the Tigers have yet another 53-second flyer coming in the form of Avery Bargeron, who owns a 53.29 100 fly that will score in the top 16 at SECs, but her 200 fly is less than half-a-second off an NCAA invite (1:57.89). The small but mighty class is enhanced by 1:49 freestyler Lucy O’Neill and 55.8/1:59 backstroker Jenna Smith.

  17. Btw, this is UGA's brand new $80M FB facility. Maybe not quite as spectacular as Auburn's future FB PC but still state-of-the-art. Now, Green should call Tim Cook and discuss some potential JHS upgrades!
  18. Not sure, where to post this, so starting a new thread: https://ocm.auburn.edu/newsroom/news_articles/2021/09/091328-bot.php For the Athletics Department, the board elected to: BASEBALL: Commence the next phase of the Plainsman Park Player Development Center and start the architect selection process. Aimed at enhancing the fan experience, the project will include premium seating improvements above the new Player Development Center, as well as additional seating, new restrooms, concessions, a covered pavilion and a connection to the existing seating concourse. Athletics is expected to finance the project through bonds and gifts. WOMEN'S BASKETBALL: Initiate the project and start architect selection process to renovate the women’s basketball locker rooms in Auburn Arena. 20. 2021 PROGRAM RANKING (MEN) Auburn's 2021 recruiting class ranks #1 (#2) in the SEC and #9 in the nation. (They could still rank Alabama in the top 8 EDIT Alabama is ranked at #5 overall now due to adding some International swimmers, not sure they should be ranked that high though EDIT According to some insiders, these swimmers will not attend Alabama. So Alabama should definitely be ranked lower). Technically, UGA should be #1 in the SEC but South African teen-sensation and #1 rk swimmer Matt Sates is not included in this class (he will probably join UGA next year). 1. - 8. ? , 9. Auburn, 10. Stanford, 11. Michigan, 12. UGA, 13. Louisville, 14. Ohio State, 15. Texas A&M, 16. Florida #9: AUBURN TIGERS https://swimswam.com/ranking-the-2021-mens-ncaa-recruiting-classes-9-12/ Top-tier additions: #14 Henry Bethel (GA – breast/IM), #15 Jacques Rathle (LA – IM/free), Nate Stoffle (GA – back/free), Grant Davis (GA – free), Mason Mathias (AL – free), Andrew Simmons (GA – back/IM) The rest: Fletcher Hayes (CO – back), Whit Andrus (NC – diving) The Tigers bring in three swimmers that ranked in the top 20 of our re-rank this year, and they’ve picked up a total of four high-end recruits from the neighboring state of Georgia. The additions give new head coach Ryan Wochomurka a nice boost entering his first campaign. #14 Henry Bethel and #15 Jacques Rathle jumped up to those positions after being left out of the top 20 as juniors, both coming off phenomenal seasons with similar event specialites. Bethel, the top-ranked swimmer out of the non-ranked from last year, dropped 1.5 seconds down to 1:45.54 in the 200 IM, and also hit massive best times to get down to 52.9/1:56.7 on breaststroke. All three of those put him in the vicinity of SEC ‘A’ finals (all events Auburn didn’t have any top-eight finishers in last season), and he’s also got a solid 1:37.2 200 freestyle and 1:48.5 200 back in his arsenal. Rathle, a Thibodaux, Louisiana native, is also a high-end medley swimmer, having progressed down to 3:45.90 in the 400 as a senior, putting him within two seconds of the class’s best. He also has a 1:46.4 200 IM, plus 54.4/1:58.6 breaststrokes and 1:35.6/4:23 freestyles. Both free events in particular improved by a landslide last season, projecting him to be a valuable 800 free relay contributor in future seasons, if not right away. The third Auburn recruit ranked in the top 20, and the only one of the three that was also featured there as a high school junior, is Spartan Aquatic Club sprinter Nate Stoffle. Stoffle, who will be joining older brother Aidan with the Tigers, immediately becomes the team’s best 100 backstroker with his PB of 46.63, and he’s right at the top of the squad with his 1:43.51 200. Similar to his club teammate Peter Sacca, Stoffle is a clutch relay performer, including having split 19.5 on a 200 free relay, with his flat-start best sitting at 20.0. Once a revered sprinting school, Stoffle will be relied upon to contribute right away to Auburn’s 200 free relay, with their top 50 swimmer from last season, Nik Eberly, transferring to Michigan. But outside of the top three, the other swimmers Auburn managed to pick up are also very strong. Grant Davis has a quality 500 free at 4:23.7, with a ton of potential to improve in the 200 (1:37.9) and 1650 (15:30) free. Mason Mathias brings a similar skill set with bests of 1:36.5/4:25/15:20 in the freestyles, and the duo will form a competitive distance training group with rising sophomores Mikkel Gadgaard and Michael Bonson. Not to be overlooked, Andrew Simmons (48.7/1:45.1) and Fletcher Hayes (49.4/1:46.6) add to the backstroke depth of the team.
  21. Some more info on Clemson's new Gymnastics program which will probably hurt Auburn and SEC recruiting in the future. Fortunately, Suni and Olivia Greaves are both game changer for Auburn and it should take years for Clemson to close the gap... I am pretty sure Auburn will add Clemson to the schedule in the coming years. Clemson Goes “All In” on ACC Gymnastics https://collegegymnews.com/2021/09/10/clemson-goes-all-in-on-acc-gymnastics/ "He also agrees with Snider’s assessment that Clemson gymnastics will be “highly competitive very quickly,” emphasizing that the athletic department is going “All In” on ensuring the program’s success. While Kallin notes any constructions or renovations are still very much in the preparation and evaluation stage, he underscores that fans and prospective athletes “can certainly expect a first-class facility and student-athlete experience, just like football and basketball.”
