  1. My sources are telling me that who ever brought up the vaccination topic is onto something, Yella Fella has been consulting with Dr. Fauci and "the science" says they're may be a link between Harsin not getting the Jab and Bo's broken ankle. Damnable if true.
  2. My sources are telling me they saw a moving van outside Rush Propst's house. They actually have a backup plan, the guy who played Coach Taylor on "Friday Night Lights"
  3. The perfect candidate to replace Harsin is Gus Malzahn's half brother Hugo Von Malzahn. He has stock in a couple Waffle House's so there's the Gus folksy humor. He is a practicing child psychologist so he can be the therapist for players in both camps. He grew up in Compton so he understands urban culture. Gus let him take a selfie with a tackling sled so he has SEC experience. He has a connection to Yeller Feller because he built a picnic table out of pressure treated lumber. Ideal candidate. I remember Phillip Marshall when he was a hack sports reporter. Oh wait...he still is.
  4. I have been thinking since yesterday. I'd like to hear Charles' take
  5. Hey Taco, my computer is spazzing out on replying directly so here's my reply. Demographically, I live in Louisville where I work as a drug counselor. My dad was born in Covington, but abandoned at birth so he was adopted into a New York family. 1) I'm not saying Harsin is the good guy. I'm not saying he's the devil either. I'm just saying give him a year to make or break with those guys who will go to war for him. If he blows things up , fine get rid of him based on performance , . If you bring in some old mediocrity like Kevin Steele, the season will be a disaster anyways. 2) I don't like arrogant rich people much. Maybe my bias gets in the way of sound analysis, but your defense of the powers that be looks like a bunch of guys that own a professional sports team, my way or the highway. Really? 3) The other thing drives me to distraction is the sports media (network, blogs, podcasts, You Tube channels, whatever (exception- I watched the War Rapport and thought those guys were fair and astute) I watched some obese nerd on CBS Sportsline smugly condemning both Harsin and Auburn and my thought was "boy you ain't never strapped them on, what the hell do you know?" 4) The endless drama is appalling in my opinion and has to end . It feels like "Groundhog Day" It's the same year every couple of years.
  6. With all due respect Taco, perception, perception, perception. Like I said in an earlier post, I lived in Alabama for 20 years but my roots are up north. When I lived in Alabama there was a certain class of arrogant swells who carried themselves like their stuff didn't stink. I lived in Huntsville but I associated these folks with places like Mountain Brook and Vestavia Hills. That's how I see the BOT, Are they purposely sabotaging the program? Of course not, but that sense of entitlement as the landed gentry, the ones that tipped a couple with Coach Dye is how I see these guys. This is Auburn University , by God, and as long as they're alive, they'll set the course. Am I wrong? Could be. I'm sitting in Kentucky. Soon this death by a thousand cuts will we over and we can wait for the next season of drama. Meanwhile another year of instability will come and go. Saban and Jimbo and Kirby and every other powerful rival will whisper in the 5 star kids' ears "you don't want to go to that 'cow college', son. You know how they are down there"
  7. Maybe I'm ignorant, but how in God's name can you be better prepared for next year with this carnival going on? The ideal situation for me would be Harsin draws a line in the sand (diplomatically of course) and goes to war with the guys he's got who want to be here. There's plenty of talent in the locker room. I think you might end up with a squad of guys with the heart of those good Boise teams that beat the big boys. If it works, build on it. If it don't hire your typical SEC retread like Steele or Muschamp that will dance to the BOT's tune next year.
  8. Hard to argue with your points. If the term "Auburn man" means anything it means that you don't show your butt on social media because you had a negative experience at the school, perceived or otherwise. It might be an inherent issue going forward with the transfer portal, the NIL etc. It's hard to imagine a lot of kids being loyal to anything but themselves and their alleged "brands" Give Bo Nix credit. He hasn't showed out on social media. This is getting depressing. Being a sports fan has always been kind of a wild roller coaster ride, but this is rough.
  9. I saw some of that and thought these guys are balanced, knowledgeable and insightful
  10. It looks like TPTB are using the Wile E. Coyote Consulting Firm for savvy advice on how to get rid of the coach. It will no doubt turn out really well. Beep beep!
  11. This thing seems like it's the train heading for the bridge out ahead. The engineer pulled on the brake stick and it broke off in his hand. A bitter Brian Harsin will hop on I-20 West. The players who moved on will get a couple extra "thumbs up" on their social media posts. The guys who stuck around will give their all for visionary up and rising coach Kevin Steele in his debut 4-8 season. ESPN will interview Bo Nix. The boosters will gather in Jimmy Rane's luxury suite with a smug look as they share a couple pops with their surgically enhanced second wives and talk about "the Auburn way". The beat goes on.
  12. Let me throw in kind of an outside comment. I'm new to the board (posted briefly a couple years ago), but I'm not new to the forum or to AU. I lived in Alabama for 20 years and have been a fan for 30. I'm passionate about Auburn and hate the Tide with equal passion. A couple possible observations with no inside information. 1) Maybe Harsin is an anachronism, an old school guy used to coaching kids who herded cattle or shot elk in the off season. He doesn't get social media and urban culture. Bad fit for an SEC school with the bright lights and bling. Or maybe he's a joker 2) The Justin Lee article someone called "brutal" was pathetic. Just a media monkey flinging poo for the TPTB. Hope he gets an invite to the suites, the little pressitute. 3) Sounds to me like there's some guys like being challenged to man up and some other guys who like be friended on Facebook and remembering being the big dog in high school. Reminds me of a story. Kid struck out 9out of 10 guys in amateur baseball. Went to the pros, couldn't get anybody out. Coach told him "You remember that 10th guy, they're all here" That's how life is, you got to earn respect. Just my opinion.
  13. Let's go full family. Bring back a triumvirate of coaches. We can probably get Mr. Gus Rogers for a few million, Hire Chiz and Trooper Taylor as co-coaches. Gus can take the 'cruits to Waffle House, Chiz can set up an armed robber felony diversion program for the guys with special needs. Troop could be Yaller Feller's bag man for NIL dispersion. Guaranteed to have Saban, Jimbo and Kirby quaking in their boots
