  1. It would still have been special if we had closed the fifth of the Freeze 5, but that said, Freeze surpassed expectations by far, so it's a huge step forward in the right direction.
  2. There are not many Tony Barbee memes out there and I guess for good reason. But this one will suffice and gets straight to the point! Anyone complaining about Bruce needs to go back and watch the talent and schemes on those Tony Barbee teams.
  3. That's some stiff competition with Edey, Bacot, and Dickinson also at C. Any chance we can pin or boost this vote? We all get 1 vote per day, but I didn't see it until now. Maybe change the title to "Vote Broome Daily for the Nation's Best Center Award"
  4. The computers love AU, especially our defense and since we're still very high in Net rating, KenPom and ESPN BPI. I think the road losses (which included decent 2nd halves) and the 1st half at Ole Miss were valuable lessons for this team to hopefully become a force by tourney time. I just hope we don't peak too early.
  5. It's good to see a new CB for Tavaris Dice from Langston Hughes. The ON3 guys also mentioned him as one of the most likely to be the next to commit. So hoping to continue building a strong OL class in 2025 this weekend. https://247sports.com/college/auburn/PlayerInstitution/tavaris-dice-at--294513/CurrentExpertPredictions/
  6. I am liking the food convo as much as the X's and O's tbh and will hit yall up for recs next time I visit home. But getting back to Durkin as a DC, I am liking Titan's analysis of Durkin much better than Connor O'Gara's. Not familiar with that writer, but he's not high on Durkin as a DC based on this article. https://www.saturdaydownsouth.com/auburn-football/ogara-dj-durkin-got-yet-another-sec-defensive-coordinator-job-which-continues-baffle-me-2024/
  7. In all fairness, he had quite a few 5 star and high 4 star players in his front 7 at A&M. I'm not saying he isn't a good coach and we may get to that point soon the way the coaches are recruiting. But I will have low expectations this first year. Obviously Ron Roberts had his issues, but I thought he got quite a bit out of our D and had them playing over their talent level for at least part of the year.
  8. I agree. Many of the AU and non-AU teams that do well in the SEC and NCAA tourneys have to go through growing pains to learn their weaknesses and improve. Obviously, Miss St thought that they could take certain things away on defense, play very physical, and win on the boards and figuring out how to adjust to that style in our rematch is going to be a very valuable lesson moving forward. Same with Bama; whatever adjustments we made at halftime were exactly what we need to do when we play fast 3-point shooting teams. On a similar note, we had some rough losses the year that we made it to the final four, but the team seemed to learn from those losses, focus more on their strengths, and minimize some of their weaknesses. But perhaps more importantly, they got hot at the right time. The Jabari/Kessler year went better in the regular season, but I felt like we needed a few more losses to learn from to be a better tourney team that year, a team which seemed to peak too early. Maybe they just needed better ball handling and some scheme adjustments against Miami, but it sure would have been helpful to have learned how to play a team like that earlier in the year from a loss that exposed those weaknesses.
  9. Having to coach with Jimbo was not a semi-banishment? 😜 Jokes aside, I get that his D had good numbers at A&M, but in all fairness, it was loaded with tons of high four-star and 5-star players. How has he done elsewhere?
  10. Bummer. I thought we had a good chance to land him.
  11. Exactly. And how did we respond after losing to App State? If we can learn from these two games and get better, then it will be exactly what we needed before playing a team like Tennessee and for playing in tourney games.
  12. Wow. We must have had lots of bad offenses with lots of 3 and outs if that's the case.
  13. This is the kind of start that puts us in a great spot for another reg season SEC championship. And it's great to see Bama get crushed as well. 😘
  14. I'm OK if we move up slowly. And I hate to say this, but a close loss or 2 will help this team get ready and motivated for March Madness.
  15. Which 2 will score more tonight? Broome & Cardwell or Jabari vs. Kessler?
  16. I agree. I could see him being great off the bench for the right type of team.
  17. I love this bench group. When Cardwell and CBM are playing like this, we'll have a chance against anyone.
  18. 6, the number of points at the half by Anders Carlson of the Green Bay Packers and OM's top scorer
  19. Our bench was 8-11 from the field. 3-5 from 3 and 1-1 from the FT line. KD is the only one that missed a shot. I didn't understand CBM coming off the bench at 1st, but CBP's rotation is killing it thus far. Our bench seems to lay a haymaker type run every game.
  20. Now that's a 1st half!!! 6 of 10 for three!
