And get the SEC to spend even more. smh Hoping for some good news from Echols, McCray or the other Florida DL soon....although waiting until NSD probably makes more sense for most at this point of the year.

Busy at work and didn't realize the portal hadn't officially opened yet when some of the 1st names were announcing. That being said, Freeze and co. seem to prefer to do visits instead of locking down their top targets early like some other schools. Not saying it's bad, just more surprised how quickly some get commitments from transfers without a visit or anything. But I guess transfers probably say yes to the money and assume they can back out within the 30 day period if they haven't signed and it's not a good fit.

McCray would be huge, but I keep hearing the paid sites bring up FSU as the favorite. Bolden would be huge!! And it would make more sense why we are slow playing DB transfers. But it's strange to me that we're slow playing other transfers. QB I get if the prices are too high and our top target got snatched by ND. But why not snatch the top Oline, Dline, LB, etc. before they're gone?

FWIW, Jeffrey Lee and co. said on their recent podcast that we may consider 1 portal depth piece on the Edge (perhaps more of an edge setter than a pure speed rusher) because we lost Sings, but that we would be picky because we have both Waller and Phillips coming in and both may have a chance to contribute right away. They also mentioned that Beaman could be a good fit at the Edge position that Faulk played this past year.

Back to Ryan Williams. We may be able to do quite a bit with a slightly above average OL & QB if Cam Coleman, Perry Thompson and Ryan Williams are getting open every play. Let's break the 🐖bank on this one, lol!

I think this will end up playing out like last year. We'll slow play it until most of the top QBs are locked up and we get a late but decent portal QB on the cheap. But thinking we shouldn't expect something soon unless we lose a QB from our room. I'm not necessarily excited about this plan, but also think investing in the O-line, D-line and Ryan Williams is probably a better bang for the buck than putting all our eggs into a transfer QB basket. But who knows. I'm guessing most of us would prefer that we swing for the fences on a QB.

Our depth chart at WB is atrocious, so glad he's getting the priorities straight.
