Best dual threat QBs

1 Johnny Football

2 Mariota

3 Watson

4 RG3

5 cant think of anyone else close to the level of these DT guys...

Thought about Winston but in my eyes was never a DT guy.. He runs like a pocket QB. Would have had him 2.

I thought of him too, but you are exactly right.

I would consider him a DT since he was a threat on the field and apparently off the field too. I'd go with Manziel and Mariota as one and two.

I was surprised no one not only had Cam on their list but didn't have him #1. But then I saw it DTQB'S after 2010. It would have been nice to see what Cam could have done had he returned for his senior year.

I think everyone would've picked him #1 if it was 2010...kinda why I stipulated 2011. I wanted to to see what others thought besides Cam

Colin Klein was a pretty good DT QB for Kansas State. Had nice seasons. in 2011-2012

My father-in-law is a k-state alum and I remember watching a few of those games. He was a deceptive runner. Good choice.

As is my (occasional?) wont,

I risk an OT drift.

DT QB seems a sort'a newfangled (post '11?) term.

There may be some here older than me (teehee), but we used to call them

"scrambling" QBs

(Mssrs. Tarkenton, Manning the Elder, Staubach, etc.,come to mind).

John Manziel

Marcus Mariotta

Deahaun Watson

Trevone Boykin

Dak Prescott

Honorable Mention

Russell Wilson

Andrew Luck ( I just don't see him as dual threat, even though he was)

Greg Ward

Keenan Reynolds (when you think dual threat his running stands out)

No one, I mean no one could scramble like Fran Tarkenton

Nice list. I like your Boykin pick.

Well hell lets just put Jimmy Sidle in there

I loved watching Kitchens eat his way out of any trouble in front of him.

I loved Jimmy Sidle. He was the epitome of  a QB who could throw and run here and there. They do not make them anymore liked Sidle.

We don't have any great dual threat QBs on this years team. We haven't had one since Cam and Nick.

WTF ??? Why is this in the AUBURN FOOTBALL discussion group ????  Take it elsewhere -- Rivals -- where it belongs.
