How come Alabama never gets the toughest schedule every year. They don't mind sticking Auburn with the toughest schedule every time.

We do need to abolish perma cross division games (or heck go all the way and abolish divisions). But USCe is hardly a brutal opponent (I don’t care what happened this year, that was an added on game in a meaningless season).

Early games against Florida and Miami away from Bryant Denny could be tricky with all theyre replacing on offense.  @TaMu could be interesting with 2 new Qbs.  Sophmore Qb in JHS won’t be a walk in the park.  Bama probably still gonna Bama though.

Edit to add Heupel and Kiffin’s high speed offense can’t be dismissed either.

Hopefully Harsin gets more credit if he beats a top 15 caliber Penn State away early in the season than Malzahn got beating top 15 caliber Oregon & Washington away early in the season. It was like those wins didnt even happen.

I've accepted that their schedule isn't that different. It's how we perceive it.

When they play ole miss, nobody gives ole miss a chance

When we play ole miss, we stress cause we know.

Same thing with other common opponents.

Duh. They don’t have to play themselves.

Bingo!  The perception has been created and how they view opponents.

They open with Miami away - Florida away - aTm away - MSU away - Auburn away.  Wouldn't that be considered a tough away schedule for most programs?

8 wins seems to be doable

Yup I was thinking 8 or 7 would be a decent first year with all things considered.

Somewhat related we need a big 2022 recruiting class.

It's pretty simple.  Alabama doesn't play themselves.  That's the biggest issue.  2nd is UT has been god awful for 2 decades

UT sucks hind teet.  They have Miami/UF/aTm/Auburn away from home, Would Auburn consider that away slate a cake walk?

I wasn't really comparing how we'd feel about it.  When you're the #1 team, it's harder to get the top schedule since you're the most difficult.

IMO, they still have a difficult schedule

Yeah, unfortunately agree.

Bama's OOC has Southern  Miss, New Mexico State, and Mercer. Roughly equal to our Akron, Georgia State, and Alabama State.

They have Miami, we have Penn State. Miami probably a little tougher draw, but they get them in their second home (Atlanta) and we travel, so basically a wash.

They play Florida and UT in the East, we play UGA and USC. About the same.

We both play the same teams in the West.

The unfortunate part and only real difference is they are the 700 pound gorilla, and we have to play them. They're scary, we're not.

That's a baby s*** soft schedule for them after Texas A&M. They'll coast to the Iron Bowl.

For them, it absolutely is.

For us, only New Mexico State would be a gimme and the others we might be favored, but we'd have to work for it.

Damn I hate having to type that...Dear 8 pound 6 ounce Baby Harsin...please turn this around..
