Baseball practice getting cut short because of the rain and doing sliding drills was the best.

Am I the only one worrying about someone getting hurt doing this? I always think of the Georgia WR from decades ago that ruined his knee playing in the sand football game, among other freak accidents.

WDE, The guy was tail back Robert Edwards.   After rushing for over 1100 yards in his rookie season, he was playing a 4 on 4 rookie flag game at the Pro Bowl.  He jumped up to defend a pass and came down awkwardly on his leg.   He tore all 3 ligaments and partially tore an artery.   There was a real risk of a above the knee amputation.   To his great credit, he recovered and played a hand full of snaps 2 years later.  He was fortunate to have a disability insurance policy that provided him some income.
