He has made mistakes. You are correct, but rehabilitation is real. That’s what I am getting at. I’m not defending his past actions, but not everything he is being blamed for is real. That is not true for me.  I will not support him personally until, I see that he is not the same person he has been throughout his life.  His time at Liberty means nothing because,,, Liberty itself is an institution infected by a lack of character and integrity.  Until he exhibits some real character, I will continue to believe that he will ultimately lead to failure.

Not arguing. What do you need to see from him ? I think him addressing it in a sit down would work wonders. Not running from it. What does real character look like to you? Not being smart just seeking to understand

Exactly. Winning does not absolve you of your past transgressions. Only owning your mistakes and making genuine changes through growth and accepting responsibility is a true commitment to character. It’s disheartening to see how some folks on this board is saying winning cures all.

Character requires integrity, honesty, respect for others, kindness, generosity, being humble.  But moreover, real character is not situational.   It doesn't change by virtue of some short term personal gain.

Did someone expect him to do nothing for a living? Some would call his time there as penance. Regroup,  apply changes. If everyone who erred by adultery had to drop off face of the earth, crowds would not be a problem. Obviously I am pivoting off your “hiding out in Liberty”. I have no idea what anyone/everyone expected him to do for a living.

With the reputation Liberty has, it is not a place for reform.  It is a hypocrites haven for enabling.

This a done deal.  Not sure how arguing over the virtues or the depravity of the past is going to change anything.  

We'll all watch the spring game and watch with hope that we're better than last year.  Maybe even watch with excitement at a new QB we got in the portal.  Who knows?

The only alternative is to change teams.  No one's doing that.

I know your not the only one on hear that has strong feelings about Hugh Freeze, but the good book says "all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God" we are all sinners and if you believe that your sins are less than his well you may want to re-examine that. I think if you look at Coach Pearl and there are others that it is possible to learn from their mistakes. Has he made mistakes yes he has, I am hopeful that he becomes an example when given this opportunity that its possible to turn your life around and become a better person...just my humble opinion...maybe it works out and maybe it doesn't but I will support him until he proves at Auburn that he should no longer be the head coach.

Still, in regard to hiring football coaches,,, this guy is a loser.  His only concern is himself.  This is a terrible hire.

Mostly, the article lays into Freeze for lying to recruits, their families, and players about the NCAA investigation. Wouldn’t all coaches soft-sell how bad an investigation might be going? Not saying it’s right, but it’s not surprising, knowing if this kid doesn’t sign, he’s going to end up at another SEC school where they are doing the exact same things you’re being accused of.
