rexbo 104 Posted December 4, 2005 Share Posted December 4, 2005 It is a good thing we are not in an eight team playoff using the BCS rankings this year; our very good Auburn team, playing as well as any other team not named USC or Texas, would have been left out. If they go to a playoff system, I hope they include a committee like the b'ball tournament uses, so a team cannot get in based on their national/media popularity, like Notre Dame. I believe a committee would have recognized 2 things when looking at the Top 8 to 10 teams; 1) that Auburn beat UG within the past month, and that 2) Notre Dame just barely beat a lousy Stanford team, and so they probably would have put Auburn at least ahead of those 2 teams when ordering the top 8...
