Racism...nothing sinks a school faster than that...NYT will write an article about how we're 90% white and for some reason thats wrong...just like it was wrong to take Independent Study

It was between recruiting and something else, I chose the latter.

Forget the NYT. I think Grunchloud should be attacked for his comments that I consider to be racist.

I can't remember where I read this, but here was his quote:

"Gundlach said Friday there was 'really no difference' between the grades of athletes and nonathletes in fall 2004. He did not know the exact numbers."

Am I to infer from this that unless athletes score lower than the regular student body, there is an irregularity? Why would that be? Because athletes are predominately black? I hate Jesse Jackson, but where is he when you need him? Anybody got his number? It would do my heart good to have him come down and gut that prof.

hi galen...i have been wondering where you were....i just finished writing ed richardson, and while i have very little confidence in him, and have been very critical of him in the past, i think this little fiasco has awakened him and the entire AU family to exactly what we are up against.

Dr, Richardson, while i have been critical of you in the past, i feel like it is the time for all AU folks to unite. The recent event concerning the new york times has made all of us just furious.Dr Richardson, it was a planned "hatchet job" and anyone with brains enough to breathe, can see this.

Too many times in the past, when AU is achieving success on the gridiron, something like this has happened. You are old enough to remember the Don Fuell fiasco, and the Eric Ramsey scandal. You know,as well as i do who was responsible for both of those incidents. Although there was plenty of fault to go around at AU, the instigation of making it public was a conspiracy and it came from supporters of the crapstone.

Too many times AU has backed down from their bullying tactics and meekly accepted the punishment, whether deserved or not, with no retribution. It is past due time to fight.Remember this,in a war, if one side is not shooting, that side will soon all die.

I trust you to handle the situation with the feud between the professors in a manner that will be beneficial for all and not damage the credibility of the University. I am confident that you will do that. What all of us that love AU would also like to see is for AU to go on the offensive rather than be trapped in a defensive position this time around.Dr. Richardson, we have enemies. Those enemies become more vicious with our every success on the gridiron. It eats them alive and they are not honorable people. They are capable of anything and everything, as you well know. I implore you to take a stand that will make AU proud, and will also show those enemies that we are no longer willing to back down without a fight. We are all behind you and are trusting you to lead us in this fight.

I'm gonna go with DKW being tied in with the athletic department in some kind of AU sororiety internet porn ring to fund under the table payments to football players and those that teach them.

Still haven't seen the cheating part, guilty of having a instructor that didn't believe another gave enough work... pretty sure you could find that at any university. Guilty of having a instructor accuse another of not being difficult... pretty sure you could find that at any university. You caught us with the hand in the cookie jar, Auburn is guilty of having some crip classes and a easy professor (which you kind of have to have for a crip class). You do realize that if Peete did even something as simple as say research articles dealing on the sociological impact of football in American society, meet me twice to discuss it, and give me a 10 page paper using 5 references that makes it a legitimate class for IS, easy as hell.. yes, but legit.

Show me where in the NCAA rules where it lists the amount of papers and length, tests and formats of said tests, number of pages that must be read, and difficulty of grading. If regular students recieved the same treatment there is no violation, and considering nearly 250 regular students flocked to that class I'd say its a safe bet they did. There is no NCAA rule against say:

Alabama. "The Cheerleader in American Society."  Now given yes this may not sound like the most masculine of classes but consider this; our assignments were to go to high school and college football games and "observe" cheerleaders,  The class was composed of 19 freshman girls and me who somehow loopholed my over the hill 3rd year arse into the class,  and the teacher was an absolute milf.  I received an A for watching football and hanging out with hot girls, if you can top that be my guest. - No name

Though in case watching cheerleaders at a football game was too easy there is always this beauty that has sociology direct reading all over it and probably provided groundbreaking research:

Subject:  "The Social Significance of the Dukes of Hazzard." School: University of Alabama - Robert H.

Wonder what incredibly difficult textbook was used for that one, maybe:

Anyone wanna take a guess to what 4 year institute this class transferred to as a elective:

Austin from Tuscaloosa AL.  I go to Shelton State Community College and not too long ago I took a "Stress Management" class.  The class consisted of breathing deeply while listening to Willie Nelson.  No exams, just show up and breathe deeply to "Stardust" and "Georgia on My Mind" - No name

I really have to question if you even attended college, cause anyone that has knows these type of courses that involve minimal work exist. They also know that different professors are more demanding than others, if that wasn't true you wouldnt have sites that rate professors and students jockying for position and getting on waiting lists for closed classes when another instructor has slots open for the same class. Auburn has them, Alabama has them, even Harvard Law has them:

http://www.collegefootballnews.com/2004/Co.../Creampuffs.htm

Yes, I do realize that Organic Gardening made number one on that list, we admit its a crip class cause we know these classes are part of college, just like PE classes. I can also assure you that my house will have some kick @ss composte in the landscaping because of James Brown's knowledge :P Hey I learned something, isn't that what you do in college.

Just for fun, having a psych degree I took a gander at Alabama students comments on their psych profs at rate my professor; here is some of my favorites:

James Collier - answers his phone during class.. thats real professional and ethical

Carl Clements - guy got a B in his class and then told (not argued) him he deserved a A so the instructor changed it......that looks like a given grade to me.

Ashok Natarajan - holds class for 15 minutes at which time he hands out a printed version of his notes.... always nice to pay for a lecture class and end up with a indepenent study... np though the tests are gimmie's. Lot of work there. I'm sure DKW can inform us on university codes requiring instructors to actually teach during scheduled class hours.

Ty Patterson- guy skipped his exam for a concert and he let him make it up.... way to uphold the universities standards of what is considered a legitimate reason for missing a exam (most universities require documentation of a illness, jury duty, death in family). Go academics!

And the grand prize winner with this comment made multiple times:

Stephen Groff - a ex- football player that favors and loves athletes..... oh my preferential treatment.... I do believe that is a NCAA violation and he teaches the intro class. My, wouldn't it be nice to see the class schedules of the incoming freshmen.

All of these comments brought to you by your peers at the Capstone. Looks like we got some crip classes, some ethical and professional concerns, some given grades not earned, some blatant disregard for university rules regarding attendance, missed exams and providing students with their payed for class time, and of course preferential treatment towards student athletes a very clear NCAA violation.

That's the worst part of this whole mess. You look at the allegations and see two things. 1) This was a professor with an axe to grind because his feelings were hurt that someone else got a promotion. 2) This was not an athletic issue and the concerns have already been addressed and, for all we know, resolved.

But you're still gonna get these ignorant, redneck, if you ain't roll tide you can kiss my a$$, never set foot in college, sleeps with their sister, deliverence types that will boldly proclaim that AU cheated. Where is the cheating?

Well, to be fair, although not capitalized it ("Bama") was the seventh word in the thread after the title & poll:
