Link May 23, 2007SHANXI, China--Auburn's Quan Prowell scored a game-high 16 points but it wasn't enough as Reach USA lost to Zhe Jiang 79-76 for its first loss in five games Wednesday in Shanxi, China. Prowell did win the slam dunk contest prior to the game. Zhe Jiang, the fourth place team in the Chinese Basketball Association, took an 11-point first half lead, but Reach USA led by as much as 10 points early in the fourth quarter. The Chinese team, playing its first game of the week, took a one-point lead with 45 seconds remaining. After a missed USA jumper and two Zhe Jian free throws, Reach USA missed a trio of three-pointers in the final 20 seconds as the Chinese held on. Zhe Jiang made 12 three-pointers, the most given up by Reach USA in the five games. Prowell was 7-of-12 from the field and added seven rebounds and three assists. Rasheem Barrett totaled six points, eight rebounds and went 3-of-11 from the field, but was 2-of-3 from 3-point range. In the five games, Prowell is averaging 15.2 points and 7.6 rebounds while Barrett chips in 10.8 points and 4.8 boards. The team will play three more games vs. Zhe Jiang to close out the eight-game Chinese tour.
