Tigermike 3,055
After a hiatus of 68 years, the Supreme Court on Tuesday agreed to rule on the meaning of the Second Amendment  the hotly contested part of the Constitution that guarantees “a right to keep and bear arms.†http://www.scotusblog.com/wp/uncategorized...le-on-gun-case/ Alternative title: Justice Kennedy to decide whether the Constitution provides Americans with an individual right to bear arms. rexbo 104
"A well regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed." The phrase 'right of the people' is also contained in the 1st and 4th amendments. If the 'right of the people' is interpreted as NOT including individual rights, but meaningless 'collective rights' then our Bill of Rights will become useless; the 1st, 2nd and 4th amendments are the bedrock of our basic individual liberties. TexasTiger 13,029
I think there is little doubt that they will find a right to own a gun to protect oneself in one's home. The real question is how broadly they will define that right.
