Ron Paul Rising

Some good ideas, but he's not ready for prime time.

Neither is Dubya, but you guys elected him anyway. Also, I haven't heard anything from any of the other candidates that backs the US Constitution. Mostly blabber on both sides. I'm voting Ron Paul and it's not a wasted vote. We'll see if America wakes up.

I don't undestand why Ron Paul supporters aren't backing Duncan Hunter. He's every bit the constitutionalist , but also not a nut case.

I'm just telling you, he's not the savior you make him out to be. People who watch him for any length of time are not going to end up voting for him unless they are hard core libertarian types or anti-war. He will not appeal to enough people to garner any significant support. He comes off as ornery, scattered and talks in even more generalities than the other candidates. The MTP performance did not help his candidacy and if he's like that on the trail, he doens't have a chance no matter how much money he raises.

When racist and anti war nuts both so feverisly support a candidate, that's natures way of saying " don't touch " .

Well the Dims shouldn't have put up Gore or Kerry, both terrible choices as has been born out. That Bottomfeeder supports Ron Paul tells me everything I need to know about Ron Paul.

It's obvious that the only socialist on this board supports Ron Paul.

Since we are applying labels, you may need to figure out exactly what you are. I am no socialist. I consider myself a conservative who hates the state, wars and loves the free-market. Oh yeah, you can label me a "Libertarian", one who despises the Big Government, the Welfare State and the Warfare State.

The term libertarianism usually refers to a political philosophy maintaining that all persons are the absolute owners of their own lives, and should be free to do whatever they wish with their persons or property, as long as they allow others the same liberty.

Since we are applying labels, you may need to figure out exactly what you are. I am no socialist but I am a proud supporter of Hugo Chávez. I consider myself a conservative who hates the state, wars and loves the free-market. You left it out so I just added it in for you. You do remember that don't you?

Ron Paul is a joke, like Ralph Nader year after year. It amazes me he's been elected to Congress.

For me personally, defense is huge. If by some miracle he is the nominee and subsequently elected, the U.S. will quickly lose its position in global politics. In a debate a few months back he not only pledged a complete and immediate removal of troops from Iraq, but he also said he believes we should have no forces positioned outside of the United States. He said he would completely shut down our major bases in Germany, Saudi Arabia, South Korea, and other areas, effectively bringing us back to the isolationist state we were in prior to our entrance into WWI. The US would quickly lose its international presence bringing the communist state of China, and Russia (which is merely an illusion of democracy) back into the forefront of global politics. As well as Iran would likely becoming the dominating force of the Middle East.

I think for that reason alone, Ron Paul is exactly the opposite of what we need right now.
