We would like to thank the Auburn football team for this unbelievable season, it has brought light into our lives during a time sadness and loss. This unbelievable 13-0 SEC Championship season has brought our family together in a time when have been reminded family is the most important thing- second to Auburn football! We were blessed for over 80 years to have a wonderful set of Godly parents/grandparents known to the world as Fred and Willie Mae Hunter. To us they were Mamma and Daddy or Grandmama and Daddy Fred. They were a lot of things; parents, grandparents, dedicated employees of Russell Corporation, faithful members of First Baptist Church Alexander City, and die hard Auburn Football fans. Their blood ran orange and blue before their first daughter enrolled in 1961. They were bigger fans when their third daughter graduated in 1976. We will never know the many sacrifices they made in their lives to put three daughters through college but we do know they wouldn't change a thing. They instilled so much in their children and grandchildren; a love and fear of God, strong work ethic, self discipline and a love for Auburn. This fall we suffered a great loss by losing both Fred and Willie Mae Hunter. They brought great joy to our lives. This is a special time of year as some of our family's fondest memories are around Auburn Football. We miss watching THE game with them or half time and victory phone calls as much as any holiday tradition. Though our hearts ache with this missing piece from our family, we have peace in knowing they are in Heaven with our Savior. Their bodies are whole now and they are in a paradise our minds cannot comprehend. However part of us wishes they were here to see this amazing season of Auburn Football.
