  1. Many so called AU fans were horrible to Nix. I’m happy he did what he needed to do for himself. I’m saddened at the modern fan for the way they turn on players so quickly. I will try to cheer on our guys as best I can. Hopefully I won’t fall into the pit of despair when it comes to an individual's play. Hopefully.
  2. Gotta keep ‘em calm sos they hits that three ball baby!
  3. I’ve thought this same way over the years, however it seems once you get above 6’ 1”, there are few guys who truly excel at DB. I’m not sure what it is. It’s a very reactionary position. Maybe there is a cutoff in which the smaller guys just adjust better. That’s not saying they don’t exist, it just seems the very good ones at that size are fewer. It would be nice to have a couple though.
  4. Yes we do. And I think he’s there. The last part of the season and especially the tournaments, he picked it up. Coming back as one of the leaders, I think he’ll take a huge step forward. As someone else mentioned, hopefully he can finish a little stronger on his drives. He is very close to being a complete SG.
  5. I am looking forward to DJ 2.0 next season. His confidence and aggressive nature finally took over. Hopefully with JPP coming in, the shot opportunities will open up tremendously for both and create a two headed monster that gives teams fits. One can dream. Chaney finally got comfortable and looks like he is ready to take off. CBM will only continue to get better, I feel. It took these guys a bit to fit in and fully gel. And thank goodness we get them another season. That was the only reason to allude to any slow starts; The fact that anyone we bring in with only one season left, should be ready to hit the ground running. The more I see what BP is putting together, the more excited I get.
  6. He and Aden missed a lot of threes early on. Aden never got started. Denver went on a tear later. Just think if he had made 30% of those threes early on what his overall % would have been. I can’t count the games we all lamented his 3 point shooting and asked when it would finally kick in. Thank goodness it did. But we can’t discount the slow start.
  7. It took Denver until the end of the season to find that shot he was brought in for. He could barely hit a three for over half the season. He was a good defender, so that offset the missing threes. CBM was an excellent defender and was a good addition. He definitely got better by the end of the season. Chaney struggled with a slow start but was able to step up when Jay went down. All of these guys struggled a bit in the beginning but they are also multi year transfer players. So the risk was worth it. With a one and done, if they don’t come in hot, their upside is a huge risk for AU.
  8. I thought Wes had been discussed. Excellent person, step slow. Freshmen aren’t passing him by because he is not liked, or worked hard, or hasn’t been given a chance to prove himself. After a couple of seasons, one realizes they are a step too slow for this level of football. The freshmen leaving now did not even give themselves a chance after their redshirt year to see if they would progress. These are two different scenarios.
  9. It would be a shame if this is about money this early in their career.
  10. Was he upset at being redshirted? Or did he get beat out? As he is just a freshman, I think he would have progressed tremendously this season. I guess these freshmen see the writing on the wall. It used to be work hard and show them all. Now it’s go elsewhere.
  11. They made it a point to say he started 27 of 33 games he played in. Was there an underlying reason he didn’t start all 33? I mean especially for a guy 2nd in the league. Just wondering. And can he come in and continue his play, or will he struggle like the other guys we brought in last season. One and dones are a must to be ready to go.
  12. I would be paying him also if I were his coach. Can we call it a trade and pay him to come to AU?
  13. The portal says Jacobe is going to Grand Canyon? Also, how good would this guy fit in? https://www.espn.com/mens-college-basketball/player/stats/_/id/4702730/jared-coleman-jones Seems like the type of player BP would pick up to stay on the heels of CJ.
  14. Well… Oooooh! Aaaaaah! Ooooh! Aaaaaaah! Like a tennis match of emotions.
  15. In 1986, a rogue booster took me to AU to see the coaches. He paid for gas and food. I told no one. I think I'll try to get that guy excommunicated from AU now... Wait. How many years until the statute of limitations runs out? I think I flushed a more valid subject earlier today.
  16. True. But allowing him to at least do that in the less competitive games can really help his game and maybe produce a few surprises for us fans. I do think having him and Card on the floor together at strategic times can be a plus for us.
  17. This changes things. The options are multiple now. Pick up a big man so JB can play some 4. Develop the new big guy to take over. Be set for the future. Get one more guard to help dish the ball and drive. Maybe pick up another 4. We got wiggle room. Wiggle wiggle wiggle wiggle, HEY!
  18. Didn’t they blackball Art Briles for this type of thing?
  19. He don’t squeeze many in. Or they edited out the shots that actually touched the rim. He has a nice dribble that allows him to creat his own shot. I’m hoping it translates to SEC play quickly. The good thing is if his three is off, he has a pretty quick move to the basket. Seems to be a good passer also. I like it.
  20. The AD needs to be making plans to have this guy promote all sports for the next several years or longer. He just brings a smile to your face every time he shows up.
  21. Do they have any good dribble shooters left?
