  1. Should we really be pointing out “losers” and not just areas of concern?
  2. I don’t think Gus ever learned how to really use NM. NM was so confident and quick, that the option was a thing of beauty when he ran it. JF3 was just as fast, but had no clue, or confidence, how to run the option. Therefore Gus’ option calls failed. For NM, All Gus really had to do was call the same plays over and over and NM made them work. NM was a once in a lifetime talent in an option system.
  3. Enjoyed seeing Nix and Finley with quick releases. As they both get more reps, hopefully we'll see them lead the WRs a bit more.
  4. After watching the video, I thought of Rudi Johnson. Not so much size and speed, but the way he lumbers and has a strong center of gravity. I have to say, the line in that video was pretty good also.
  5. You mean we get to fly to the USCe game? Oh. never mind...
  6. Bammers are apoplectic about this. It’s fun to watch.
  7. Matt is my younger cousin. He played QB at Prattville and then at Miss. St. He does a good job of breaking down a lot of teams. If I am not mistaken, he is the radio voice for MSU and has a daily show. It skews toward MSU, but has a lot of good discussions. He is spot on about Nix. Hopefully between Bobo and Harsin, we will see Nix have a breakout season.
  8. When I think of four year starters, I think of Stan White. I loved the kid in the end, but his first years were a struggle. He would get eaten alive by most of you in today's world.
  9. Regardless of who the QB is, this season will be set from the get go. If the line performs well early and gives the QB confidence, then we will see a more symbiotic relationship between them the whole season. If they screw up early and get the QB thinking "oh crap', then it will be another long season of bailing early. While fans think its normal to stand back there and let go of the ball just in time to get hit, its not. No QB wants or needs to take those kinds of hits. Hopefully the scheme this season will give the QB a viable outlet in those situations. And maybe it will put the OL in better positions to succeed. Time will tell.
  10. Here is hoping they all read and react to a play like Josh Bynes and run with the times listed.
  11. If I’m not mistaken, the ball bounced off of Freddy’s helmet after his head was hit early.
  12. Meh. It’s no workout on astroturf in the bubble, but it’ll do…😃
  13. There were two safeties you didn’t want to get hit by at that time, Carlos and Greg Staples.
  14. You show up and run. Look beside you and a guy 6 inches taller is just as fast as you. You remember saying to yourself, "Thank god we are both running in the same direction"!
  15. Clint Moseley says hi...
  16. You first have to have a hole for it to close. When the OL starts making holes, we'll all know.
  17. Did you see the OL on Saturday? If so, did you see any "something out of nothings"? At some point, if your line cannot make a consistent seam to run in, there probably won't be much "breaking it outside" room either. Shivers will need more touches in order to be able to make a big play. But I don't see ANY of our backs making a big play with the current run blocking from our OL. As someone stated, they should get better. Speed is not an asset when there is no room to run, not much is. Hopefully we will have more designed outside runs this week against uga. I would love to see Shivers get a little running room. But we have all been saying that for two seasons now.
  18. I was looking forward to seeing a few more attempts by Shivers. He is running with a passion this season. He is at a disadvantage with an OL that can't seem to get a consistent seam. But you have to give the kid some touches to get that one or two runs a series that breaks a defense. If we had holes off tackle like UK produced, Shivers would most likely be still running.
  19. That is exactly what they do. It is a huge racket. Nobody calls them. They patrol at certain intervals hoping to catch someone. They love college campuses. They do this here in the ATL at KSU. Kids get towed all the time. They figure mommy and daddy will pay it. At $150 a pop, its a great business. My kids learned the hard way. Daddy will not pay. So the only thing you can do is don't take a chance. I too see them as evil vultures.
  20. No flag was thrown, so who cares? We have bigger issues. How many times did we run the guard/tackle pull? We have run it 50+ time this season as opposed to 10 last season. I wonder how many times we ran it against UF?
  21. As an aside, how many of our first downs were due to a MSU penalty.? They definitely had some timely ones.
  22. Was that from the 172 yard run he put on Wyoming? Why yes it was. When I saw Pettway run, I saw flashbacks of Rudi Johnson. If only...
