  1. People really need to get a grip on this whole "Kiffin calls his own plays, so just stick anyone at OC" narrative. That's NOT how it works at all. The OC is still responsible for a million game-planning reasons. They still need to have extreme schematic knowledge, which Cadillac quite obviously doesn't. The OC position at Ole Miss is NOT a "hold a clipboard and rile the boys up" position.
  2. Dear god. There are how many sitting HC's in the FBS? How many sitting Coordinators at premier P5 schools? The logic that if you miss on 3-4 "elite" names then you are therefore left with Cadillac as the "BEST OPTION LEFT" is absolutely asinine. I repeat: he has near zero coaching resume. Near zero coaching pedigree. Near zero X's and O's foundation. He's a good, but not elite recruiter (go compare him to about a dozen + guys in this conference). That's your best available option? For Auburn? You have completely lost the plot and need to wake up. I can't believe the opinions and conclusions that some of you are coming to. All of this extra-curricular stuff that is being presented (the kids love him! look at his energy! he loves Auburn!) is bottom-level importance in predicting HC success in this conference, against the opponents that we expect to compete against. The players liking him and him running up and down the field manically while waving a towel isn't going to beat Bama, Georgia, LSU, or any of these teams. Let's pretend you somehow miss on the 5+ names that people have propped up as being on the candidate list. Do you think that Cadillac is a better option than someone like Jeff Lebby who we could EASILY hire? Let me spell it out for you: Lebby is a better recruiter. He is a much better X's and O's coach. He has SEC experience. He is a very good QB developer (you can't win without a QB in today's game). He has more experience and a much better pedigree (came up under Art Briles, Josh Heupel, and Lane Kiffin). That is just ONE guy. There are dozens of names you could make a similar case for. Also, Jeff Grimes would 100% be a better hire than Cadillac for about a million different reasons, and Jeff Grimes would never turn this job down. So I fail to see how you are EVER getting to the point wherein Cadillac is the "best option left".
  3. My man, I know you're not an idiot. Stop behaving like one. Ole Miss is Ole Miss? Yes man, Ole Miss routinely fields teams that win 10+ games. Happens all the freaking time. They have an excellent history of easy 10+ win seasons in the SEC West. You also conveniently forgot that Ole Miss was actually predicted to be "down" this season (go read any of the preseason predictions) after they lost a lot off of last year's team. So really, Kiffin has them on pace to win 10+ games again in what was actually supposed to be a rebuilding year for them. But I'm sure Kiffin deserves no credit for that either. The games just win themselves at Ole Miss haha.
  4. Those comparisons make zero sense and are missing a pretty freaking important differentiator that you conveniently omitted: Gene Chizik: Had done absolutely nothing to suggest that he was a good HC before being hired at Auburn (still won a National Championship before imploding lol) Ed Orgeron: Had done absolutely nothing to suggest that he was a good HC before being hired at LSU (still won a National Championship before imploding lol) Will Muschamp: Had done absolutely nothing to suggest that he was a good HC before being hired at South Carolina Jimbo Fisher: Had won a National Championship, but is currently imploding because he refuses to modernize his offense and give up play-calling duties (this will be changed for him if he maintains his job) What's the big difference with Lane Kiffin's case? Well, you conveniently forgot that since "imploding" at USC, he has actually had two BACK TO BACK tenures of extreme success as a HC at two schools that aren't particularly easy to win at at: FAU: Won two Conference Championships in three seasons (they were winning 3 games a season before he got there) Ole Miss: On pace to win 10+ games in back to back seasons in just three years on the job (the last time this happened in their program's history was 1959/1960) The first three guys you named (Chizik, Orgeron, Muschamp) had no success as a HC whatsoever at any point in time before they landed their final and most recent gigs, so what exactly is the comparison supposed to be? I've explained these actual facts to you before, but of course I know you've dug your heels in and are going to act conveniently ignorant because you've settled on an opinion and don't want to budge from it. I've also explained to you that Lane Kiffin was just 35 years old when he "imploded" at USC, and simply wasn't ready to handle a program of that size under freaking NCAA probation. That's also another big differentiator that you forgot: none of those other guys you just listed were the equivalent of NCAA post-graduates. I think it's also incredibly sad that you refuse to believe that a 35 year old HC who failed TEN YEARS AGO could possibly learn how to do the job after fixing and rehabilitating his career. That's your big message and takeaway here? He failed at 35 years old so he's done for eternity? It's impossible for him to learn how to properly be a HC? His time spent under Nick Saban meant nothing? Again, I know I just wasted my time writing all that, but whatever. Maybe someone else will find it insightful lol.
  5. Dude, why would any new HC want to hire a DC who was allegedly trying to get pushed into the HC job by certain boosters? Do you not remember how Kevin Steele departed Auburn the last time? Do you think the fans would be happy with that decision? There are more than 2-3 DC's in the country. What's next, let's bring back Chizik? If KIffin, Freeze, etc. are hired they will find their own DC. These are known big-name coaches. We don't need to recycle Kevin Steele.
  6. Dear lord. 4 years as a RB coach at his alma-mater. Nobody else called or tried to hire him before we did. Before that he was coaching RB's in HS and for the Birmingham Iron. Was he at least a HC in HS? Nope. This is the absolute definition of zero experience.
  7. You think a guy who is 4 years removed from coaching in HS and has zero coaching pedigree (he has coached under the s***-show that was end-game Gus Malzahn and Bryan Harsin - two real dynamos) is a LOCK to get us back to "mid tier"? My guy, if Auburn didn't call him, it's not even a lock that Carnell is even coaching anywhere in the SEC today. This is the ****ing SEC. You think it's THAT easy? He just loves Auburn so much and waves a towel real good, and we're good for mid-tier status in this conference? He coaches RB's. Literally the least involved position group. What is his X's and O's background? Do you understand how much PLANNING it takes to be a HC at this level? No, it's not just "wave a towel and hire good coordinators and let's roll"! If it was that easy, everyone would be doing it. It's actually incredibly difficult. That's why good coaches come here and fail every single year. By the way, ALL of these SEC teams have their own equivalent to Carnell Williams. How many of them in 2022 are pulling a guy with zero experience to lead a hundred+ million dollar behemoth because he "loves the school" and was an instrumental player 20 years ago? What, it's such a brilliant idea at Auburn, but it wouldn't work elsewhere? This is an idiotic idea for about 100 different reasons. By the way, even if they "miss" on the 3-4 names that everyone is cemented on, there are about 25+ others that would get hired before Carnell Williams. It's that stupid an idea.
  8. Here's my actual thought: Fans like you do a disservice to people like Carnell Williams. This is why you can't have nice things. Instead of a nice story about a guy who has no business being an SEC HC rolling his team out for a few games and giving it their all, we're now going to quickly embark on the pure idiocy that can only be described as "the Auburn fan experience". I can't wait until we beat Western Kentucky and people like yourself with these delusional thoughts start camping out in front of Chris Roberts' office demanding that he be named the permanent HC. NO ONE KNOWS AWBERN BETTER THAN HIM! HE JUST CARES MORE! ISS ALL ABOUT THE FAMBLY! You are the reason why this football program is always in this position.
  9. 1) His ex-wife accused him of choking her 2) He actually choked some guy over the Prime Prep fallout
  10. Two guys that lost against him while he was at mighty Ole Miss? Great point man!
  11. He's going to transfer out, as you would expect.
  12. I think there is next to no shot that Tank returns regardless of who is hired.
  13. Auburn had a place for him, our idiot HC just made the wrong decision and didn't pursue even though this kid would have crawled to Auburn. They were looking at taking two RB's and spent a large amount of time recruiting TreVonte Citizen, who they thought they had locked in until NIL kicked in. This all just shows how out of touch with reality Harsin was, because Citizen was known as a kid who was shopping for NIL - and Harsin was never planning on pitching NIL anyway. So as soon as Miami came in with the NIL bag for Citizen at the last minute, we were no longer a factor. Would he have beaten out Tank? No, but Judkins is CLEARLY superior to Hunter. Now, again, would Harsin be smart enough to see that and play him over him? Probably not since he's a guy who plays favorites and will reward the guys that he likes (Hunter is one of these guys), but on pure ability and performance it's not even a question. This was a huge miss for us as Judkins would have been an easy #1 back for us next season under a competent HC, and a damn good one at that. But alas, if we pull Kiffin, then Judkins is coming with him anyway so it's not entirely outside the realm of possibility.
  14. Did you seriously just screenshot his "record" after the NCAA stripped a million wins away from it and pretend like that's what it was lmao? Yes bro, I agree! He was 12-25 at Ole Miss! What the heck!
  15. I would bet a large amount of money that Kiffin's buyout is surprisingly low, that's why it's kept hidden and why they dance around it every time it's brought up. Why? It's simple: Ole Miss' state law about max 4-year contracts is an extreme hinderance to Ole Miss' ability to negotiate. A coach of Lane Kiffin's magnitude, with Sexton acting as his agent, is not going to get boned twice. That means that he will not take a 4 year contract (when he could get 7-8+ years at any other big name school) while also agreeing to a buyout that is structured as if his contract runs 7-8 years. He is already doing them a solid by accepting a 4 year deal, he's not also going to say "$20+ mill if I want to leave? Ok!". He also has clear intentions of leaving for a bigger job, so there's no way that Sexton has negotiated a deal that will hurt his ability to do that. He has all the power in this relationship, Ole Miss has very little. Again, his name comes up for every big job opening. IF his buyout was actually huge, you would see Ole Miss publicizing that as a deterrent. Instead it's kept silent and they make little comments like "his buyout? oh it's sizable!". It's a bluff. If his buyout was enough to prevent another school from coming after him, you'd know exactly how much it is.
  16. It's great to know that you "draw the line" at a guy who's crime was allegedly having consensual sex with prostitutes (I thought sex-work was real-work?), but at the same time you're certain that a guy who has been accused of literally CHOKING A WOMAN on top of admitting to choking a man is now a changed man LMAO. Talk about a hypocrite. It took 7 years of radio silence and Hugh Freeze's latest "screw-up" is SENDING A DM ON TWITTER LOL. Throw him in jail! What a monster! This is how you know someone has an axe to grind: they try to overblow a minor event that no one really even cares about. The message he sent that woman wasn't even obscene, it was his usual stupid biblical crap. I'm sure she had nightmares for days! I didn't even know that you were a Deion Evangelist so your critique comes off even more absurd given the mental gymnastics that one needs to do do to pretend like Deion Sanders doesn't have more skeletons than most.
  17. What facts? He just brought up a bunch of different screenshots that talk about literally two incidents that everyone already knows about. Everyone knows what happened at Ole Miss. That was ~7 years ago, dawg. It was bad, but the part you completely ignore is that Hugh Freeze is extremely good at talking and selling himself. He is preacher-level good. So when you say it's going to be easy to negatively recruit against him, you ignore the fact that he has a say in the entire situation too and he can go into living rooms himself and shake and jive as good as anyone. Do you understand that he already has players from P5 teams transferring in to play for him at Liberty? Multiple players from Auburn and other SEC schools; he has a QB from Tennessee (Kaidon Salter), a QB from Utah who also started multiple years at Baylor (Charlie Brewer), etc, etc. So he has already proven and continues to prove that he can recruit past the "negative attention". If you were right, he wouldn't be able to do what he's already doing at Liberty. But you're wrong, that's the point. Hugh Freeze is an elite level recruiter and salesman. Guys like that can change peoples minds real quick, and that's what you don't appreciate. Brian Kelly literally made a decision that led to a kid DYING during practice years ago and that man is currently recruiting and recruiting well at LSU. By the way, Deion Sanders allegedly choked his ex-wife and he's admitted to choking another man (D.L. Wallace) during his "Prime Prep" days. Do you notice that no recruit in the country seems to give a s*** about that? It doesn't sound nice, but most elite level recruits and their families aren't looking for the most Mr. Rogers-esque coach to play under. They want to win, they want to develop, they want to get paid, and they want to go to the NFL. People like you don't look through the eyes of an elite potentially impoverished inner-city football recruit, you attach your own values and beliefs and pretend they're universal. Oh no he DM'd someone suing who is Liberty! The horror! Do you understand that this is entirely a Twitter issue and has no football implications at all? I can guarantee you any amount of money that that "situation" means next to nothing in a recruit's living room. Literally none. That entire story went nowhere by the way because he didn't follow up with anything, and if you actually read the message he sent, he didn't even say or imply anything incriminating to the woman. So what you really have is an event that took place at Ole Miss ~7 years ago, and a non-story that took place this past year at Liberty. I'm not claiming that this is a good man or that he isn't a risk to do something dumb, but I'm also not stupid enough to look past the fact that he is an elite level football coach and possesses all of the qualities that will work big-time at Auburn. He is a GREAT recruiter. He is GREAT with boosters and schmoozing with money men (hellooo...NIL?). On the field he keeps winning and he's doing it by taking crap jobs that are performing poorly and turning them around almost immediately. His football resume speaks for itself, but alas most AU fans wouldn't know a good coach if he smacked them upside the head. He is currently 7-1 at Liberty with a 1-point loss against a Top 15 Wake Forest team...while playing 3rd and 4th string QB's for basically the entire season lmao. Also, he didn't JUST "beat Bama". He has beaten LSU - multiple times. Beat Auburn. Beat A&M - multiple times. He beat Kirby Smart at Georgia. He beat Mack Brown at Texas. He did this all at OLE MISS - a school that had won 6 games combined in the previous two years to him taking the job. He is 5-2 in Bowl Games. He beat Dan Mullen multiple times in the Egg Bowl. He has won SEC games on the road against bigger programs than his own. And here's the kicker: he did that all without a Cam Newton or a Johnny Manziel. Who was his QB at Ole Miss? Bo Wallace? He came a hair away from beating three straight seasons. Nobody does that, especially at Ole Miss. And before anyone says Malzahn and how he beat Saban: it is actually AUBURN That has this magic quality of always being able to challenge Bama. It has nothing to do with Malzahn. You literally saw that last season as the worst AU coach of all time - Bryan Harsin - almost beat Saban and Bama. In fact he should have beaten them. Malzahn beating Saban a few times while at Auburn is not even remotely comparable to what Hugh Freeze did at Ole Miss. I'm not suggesting that Hugh Freeze should be anyone's top target or that he has no risk or that he should be given this job, but anyone who can't see his elite coaching resume and skillset knows next to nothing about football - point blank. He would absolutely kill it here at Auburn and would win 10+ games a year. This program is 10x stronger than Ole Miss, it's not even close.
  18. Why would Leach come with him? This is a very dumb theory that people bring up as if the AD and HC are a married couple.
  19. It changes literally nothing. You think Freeze waited this long and now he's signing a contract at Liberty that is going to put him out of play from a potential return to an SEC school lol? C'mon man. Whether or not we hire Freeze will depend on Roberts and his willingness to approve that hire. It will have nothing to do with whatever marginal increase just happened with his buyout. His buyout will be a non issue if that's the direction we decide to go.
  20. Read the bottom part. The buyout is the only thing that matters.
  21. He's probably 240 and they made a typo on his bio. You can tell immediately from what little you can see of his arms in his picture that he's not 140 lol.
  22. Also, guys aren't taking easily trackable planes to "interview for jobs" anymore LMAO. This is archaic logic, the fact that people still think you're going to find out where a coach is going based off flight data is really cute.
  23. Yeah, and Nebraska is super fun. Lots of hot ladies there for him too. /sarcasm.
