In your position, I would agree. Actually the noon games work out a lot better this time of the season since it’s a lot cooler and more pleasant. But when you’re planning on tailgating and having people come, it stinks. It is what it is. I chose that game to do a tailgate because of the presumed weather conditions but oh well. Time to make the postgame tailgate great again.

I sincerely apologize to eibua12, cbo, and anyone else who happens across the post that would take offense. None was intended and I should have caught myself. My second post was directed specifically towards the poster I quoted who, as far as I could tell, was simply trying to jump into a thread intending to annoy. That comment also was careless. I have no desire to make fun of anyone for a disability or anything they can’t help. So again, I’m sorry for choice of words in both posts.

Oh no. Hope I don’t get canceled…. I understand the dynamics of the noon kickoff. B1G has always traditionally played their big games at noon so that’s nothing new. And yes, big SEC games have been playing at noon a lot more recently. Just venting frustration at the lack of a pregame tailgate more than anything else.

Sure but I can just as easily make an argument for Auburn/MSU as I can for A&M/Ole Miss. Depending on the outcome this weekend, Auburn/MSU might be the most interesting matchup, and the only one with SEC West implications. Actually, probably more so than UGA/UT but I understand why CBS took that one for the 2:30. Honestly I’m just pissed because that’s the other game we’re tailgating at and now it’s going to be a bad tailgate lol.

This is mind-numbingly dumb. Can anyone explain the national interest of Kentucky at Vanderbilt? Or of South Carolina at Missouri? What a horrendous idea to put this very intriguing game at 11 am, especially with both Auburn and MSU winning this weekend.

They first did that for 2013 iron bowl. It looked great. I think they did it again for the 2017 UGA game

I’ll always remember sitting in the North end zone for that 2004 LSU game next to a lady who took the opportunity after every incompletion to yell out in an accent straight out of Chilton County “oh lord, we need a quarterback!!!” Of course, she cheered loudly when Jason led us downfield for the winning drive. I always loved Campbell’s game from 2002 on. He rescued us against Syracuse that year and never looked back. Granted 2003 wasn’t a great year for him or anyone for that matter but he kept working and ended up producing easily one of the top 3 seasons of any Auburn QB.

St Michaels is nice, new, and just a mile or so down College from downtown.

That was a big moment, though we went on to lose that game and the season fell apart. That staff knew how to mix and match players at those positions. edit - may have been a pick 6 for him but can’t remember specifically. Just remember him running towards our seats from the 10 yard line.

I’ll agree here. The Shining is excellent but far from his best movie. It’s also not a traditional scary movie as it’s more psychological/slow burn. The Shining book is somewhat similar in that sense but the story is way different and there’s a redeeming quality in Jack’s character that’s there throughout, as opposed to the movie where he’s basically a ticking time bomb that turned evil with no chance to change back. I enjoy both for what they are. Doctor Sleep, the sequel, tries to split the difference between the two and does a really good job of it (the movie). Mike Flanagan is just fantastic with everything he does in that genre. I’d have trouble selecting King’s best book, but a lot of his “cocaine days” books are all top tier. As far as Kubrick, Paths of Glory may be his best work to me, but my fav is probably either 2001 or Dr Strangelove. The most beautiful is Barry Lyndon by far. If you’ve never watched that movie - do yourself a favor and watch it if only for the cinematography.

Try the audiobook. I downloaded the newer version that has voice actors doing some of the dialogue in certain chapters. It’s excellent. I’ve read it before of course but I sometimes like to listen to it in the background while doing things. The Reverend Mother scene is one of the highlights of the Lynch movie and hopefully will be in this one. The one in the mini series was a tad weak IMO. They need to nail it to set the tone of the story and from the trailer, it looks awesome. Just realized the other day that Mohaiam in this movie is the same actress who played Dr Pinderschloss/Fester’s “mother” in the Addams Family.

Brandon started 3 years at Auburn, 05-07. 3-0 vs UAT, 1-2 vs UGA, 1-2 vs LSU. He was 2-1 in bowl games but only played 1 Big 10 team in Wisconsin and lost - 2005 Citrus (Nebraska was still Big 12 in 2006 as I recall). Absolutely agree about Cox though. I think despite his physical limitations and relative un-athleticism, Cox definitely proved to be a very good and dependable QB. Worst thing to happen to him was losing the big 3 WRs after 2005 (DA, BO, and AM). When you have to rely on solid but not dynamic WRs like Montez Billings, Robert Dunn, Prechae Rodriguez, and Rod Smith, you’re going to struggle a bit, especially when you’re a statue in the pocket. But Cox also had the benefit of a better OL in 2005 and 2006, and at least a comparable OL in 2007 with all the youth on it. I’d imagine he’d have some tough sledding in terms of the pass rush if he were starting in 2020 in place of Nix but then again, he’d have at least 2-3 athletic WRs that could give him some help in the passing game so maybe it evens out a little.

Irons and Lee in 06 were pretty good. Irons and Rogers in 04 would have been unfair - Montae was ……ehhhh. I will agree with Viper that Schelling and Jackson in 93 may well be the best duo. Maybe I’m just being too optimistic but this year’s likely duo of McCreary and Dreshun Miller might be one of the better duos of the last 20 years if they stay healthy.

Close to the same distance that the current facility is now. I suppose a little further because you have to take Biggio around the current practice fields and then turn left on Donahue. But in reality, we’re talking a difference of maybe 200-300 yards of extra walking.

The "Nick Marshall experience" as I like to call it was kinda unprecedented. There have been few times in CFB history that something like that actually worked out. It also makes up the one outlier in Gus' QB history where a QB actually improves statistically from one year to the next - 2013 to 2014. I'll say this again - you stick a halfway competent defense on that 2014 team with the same special teams and offense and Auburn doesn't lose a game that year. They don't give up 40+ points to MSU, they take down South Carolina much easier, they pull away from Ole Miss by the 3rd quarter and that game never gets dicey, they beat A&M, they beat Alabama, etc. Georgia is the only game that year where things are interesting because the offense actually got shut down after the 1st quarter but who knows? The offense in 2014 wasn't as clutch as 2013 but then again, they didn't have to be - they were prolific with the points on the ground and through the air. Give us a top 30 defense that year and Auburn wins the West, beats Mizzou in Atlanta for the 2nd year in a row, wins the SEC and goes to the playoff against OSU instead of Bammer. Malzahn thought he could replicate that experience with James Franklin III in 2016. I think the coaching staff threw in all their chips on that one. Once it became evident that JF3 was not capable of being even competent at QB, they panicked because they had a good but troubled QB in Sean White, and a talented headcase in Jeremy Johnson that they neglected to try and develop or rescue after 2015. Thus you get the 2016 Clemson game debacle where they substituted at will to see what they could do - with predictable and painful results. Then they said, "Okay, so we probably just need to opt for a bonafide passing QB" and subsequently recruited Stidham. It worked for the most part in 2017 and is now crashing and burning as Stidham has lost whatever edge he had, even at the beginning of this year. IDK what happened with Stidham - it's just about the strangest thing I've seen from a player at Auburn to have fallen so far. I know the O-line is bad but there were plenty of plays on Saturday where the kid had plenty of time to make throws and ended up misjudging a throw, overthrowing, or panicking and taking off on a scramble. I remember one play in particular, sometime in the 3rd quarter I believe, where it was a 3rd and around 10-ish. Stidham had at least 4-5 seconds without any pressure. He stared down Seth Williams and ended up delivering a ball slightly behind him and too high - Williams tipped it in an effort to make the catch and it fell incomplete. When you have plenty of time to make the throw and actually stare down the receiver to deliver the ball, it's no longer the receiver's fault for not catching it. QB development is just one of the issues Gus is ultimately responsible for. 6 years in, there's not an aspect of the program that hasn't been built by decisions Gus has made - including the defense - kudos to him for making the right hires there. It's just more than a little concerning that the side of the ball that's he's supposed to be a genius at just happens to be the one with all the problems for the last 4 seasons - whether it's QB, O-line, WRs, not enough healthy and elite RBs, not using TEs properly, idiotic playcalling, etc.

Those corners were empty mostly because those are designated away team tickets. LSU supposedly returned a bunch. And yeah, $125.00 per ticket is gonna price a lot of people out of going to games. Ridiculous. But yes, great atmosphere and loud from what I could tell from the ramp.

Not E, but . . . I count 14 scholarship OL returning next year, 7 being juniors, 7 sophomores or redshirt freshmen. That's a chunk of guys presumably taking off after the 2019 season with the rest going in 2020. Auburn currently has 2 OL committed in this class and hoping to bring in 1 of Wonnum or Gouraige, and then hopefully snagging Anderson as a grad transfer for next year only. So that's an influx of 4 OL this year, with 1 of those leaving after the 2018 season. I'd imagine the 2019 class will be heavy on the linemen for both OL and DL, at least 5-6 OL if not more.

Telling you guys. If only Gus had listened to his gut and put chandler cox at QB for about 5 straight plays. Surely there's no way Clemson would have figured it out. Especially after last year. They wouldn't know what to think. It's the perfect crime, I mean game plan.
