Time to chip in I thought Mizzou played bout well as could on Sr night at home, to no avail . Au took care of things. They need to clean it up, less turn overs, still need better guard play, and to stop silly fouls . But still they took care of business. They still have not peaked, so good thing . Best basketball can still lie ahead if they chose to come together . Hopefully that starts against Georgia Saturday when our 4-5 Srs get hit full in the face that this is it . This is MY chance .

My normal post/ thoughts Good Tigers show up tonight, but even then inconsistency is our biggest problem.And again that is identified by discipline problems. I am not one to blame the Refs or an AU bias, but when it is common knowledge to rattle a cage and they answer, No wonder they are all up in ours every game and the refs are waiting with baited breath. We ask for it, and i know that is not readily accepted, but we needed to have the demeanor of Williams every game as far as emotional outbursts!! Guard play was better as far as TO but still neither sought to make plays for the most part. Guess we try again( same song 🎶 different verse again). I still have not seen the rise to the top, the growth needed to win the SEC tournament or advance far in March

Few thoughts from last night. knecht was impressive , out of his mind good! Between him, the inconsistent refs, frustration on AU part, and silly turn overs that game slipped away. Guard play makes me 😭. Over and over we are getting stuffed out on the top , wasted possessions. No ability to drive, finish or dish off, and no confidence to be a KNECHT and hit the 3 anymore. A certain guard can’t even pass the ball now because ( he is a head case) Trey!! It was a very winnable game. I felt it was the best chance to get over the hump, to win that big game on the road, wipe all doubts away in your mind YOU CAN! But still they have yet to win a quad 1 big game. Makes you wander how deeo they can go in the tournament

As usual Kentucky has mucho talent. But , this year they have yet to reach a level of play unto that of Tn/Au. Their defense has been inconsistent all year and is their weakness. They are a matchup problem because of size, but their youth and inexperience has led to lack of composure at times ,and because of that double digit losses. Can you expect AU to follow up the S Car game and shoot 60+%, over 60% 3 point, bout 90% FT ?? Highly unlikely. But AU shoots well at home usually. The crowd will be more crazy than it was for S Carolina. This is a have to win. Game day is there, it is KY! So I don’t see any letdown. And Kentucky does not scare us anymore. Key today is what we saw last couple of games, discipline and leadership. If Broome can maintain his composure and AU not commit silly fouls after missing shots on the offensive end. They have to understand Florida will have times they make a run. They need to just weather the storm and play strong defense and hit their shots.

I think you are what you think you are. Regardless to what i think you are. so another failure to win a game you are supposed to win puts a mental block that immediately effects what happens further down the road. So yea, they get hot ( whenever) but in that tournament when adversity hits that mental block happens. “ Here we go again, another loss “ … boom and out they go Instead of beating a team they should and advancing. It all happens now.

The problem against bama and App State was loss of composure. That is leadership and discipline failures. Miss State ate us up on the glass and played great defense. ole Miss has not lost at home. To lose composure tonight is another loss.

Before i am misunderstood, AU is not going to mail it in if they lose tomorrow night at Oxford. They still have time to improve. But there comes a time you have to prove to yourselves YOU can. This no doubt is that game. To lose another opportunity at a Quad 1 victory, another road game is to hammer another nail in the “ You Are Not Very Good Coffin”. I just do not know if this team can rise in the future( when their back is against the wall ) and win the games necessary to get very far at all in the 64. Leadership is the problem. Drama Drama Drama. 😢 Why us? It is not the turnover in Coaching , it is the timing and the stories. Never seen two schools so closely connected, both firmly anchored in their roles in the rivalry. If AU/bama were boxers and AU knocked bammer out , then on the backswing AU would also knock itself out. Just the way the drama goes. Maybe it has been covered but i have a question about QB recruiting and Freeze thoughts on it. Are we going to try to get a qb through the Transfer portal? If not, why when there are so many available?

Should’ve not been called. No advantage was gained, no tugging involved. Common foul if anything. Got to improve a ton to go to Tournament. Good thing it was S E La. We played out of wack most of game. They only turned the ball over 9 times. That means D pressure was not there. I am not one to complain about Refs since we stupidly foul, but 4/5 bad calls made the game closer. I picked we would go 20-11 this year. We play like tonight regularly and we will be good winning 17-18.

Thoughts 1st game and would have loved a win, but we went toe to toe with a very good Baylor team. almost every stat same . Stupid fouls haunt us and tell of discipline problems. Bruce gives the team too much room( my opinion) Holloway for real. Exciting player offense is 400% better, defense is better but still has problems one on one. Love the new offense!!

If we lose to Ga Lsu and Aggies we lose to bama. 7-5 possibility 6-6 I don’t think we do that unless injuries do us in. If that happens 6/6 is a good possibility. We get healthy, minus Scott and all clicks and 9 wins is possible.

A common goal has a way of pulling teams together. Find that specific igniter and it will set aflame the passion and determination to succeed. For many teams it has been some sort of adversity, or an inner challenge. Some faced doubt or such as AU , a time of poor leadership and a glimpse of Hope Caddie brought. AU needs to rally as a team behind what Freeze has brought. There are a lot of different circumstances represented with all the transfers in, and young freshmen and the few that remained after Harsin. But if they can find that certain something this could be a very special season.

When we played UMass they moved Gunner around on the OL and ran to his side, especially in the red zone with success. That is both good and bad. We need the OL to perform or we run into like problems of previous years. No running game and no passing game with no protection. We can’t place that all on the QB. We have to be able to create space to work in, make time for our plays to develop. Also we have to bring those balls in when we get our hands on em ( Mr Hooks )

Late at night Sat so it was hard to process things, but. 1. It seem like Hunter coming back upset the Apple cart. Team offensively did not seem to gell ( maybe that was the diff between umass def and Cal’s, home field vs on the road more than the other?? ) 2. Thorne never looked in sync or comfortable with the play calling, Asking him to run? 3. overconfidence I believe combined with lateness of hour, jet lag, on the road etc contributed 4. OL is still a problem. Notice against uMASS wherever Gunner was shifted ( think I have the right person? ) that is where we found success, especially in the red zone. Got to find our identity, find it fast in the pit. we have the talent, but I am not sold on P Thorne yet.
