  1. Auburn has a long and very rich history in the specialist categories. Snappers, kickers, punters, returners. You can name multiple all stars from any of those groups. But I agree with the sentiment above about Craig Sanders and if you add him you also have to include Ryan White. Seemed every punt or kick return it was either 13 or 19 making the tackle with the other in tow to finish it up.
  2. Brian Robinson was probably the last elite safety
  3. In respect to the kid I'm not gonna say he's not a running back any more. I'm going to keep an eye out and see what he does his senior year. Never know stranger things have happened then to see a new mentality going into your senior year of high school
  4. I'm sure Joiner is a great guy and a heck of an athlete but an every down back he is not. Flex TE yes, WR maybe, Hback possibly. I don't care what his 40 yard dash says he plays slow with pads on. He runs like KJ but stuck in mud. Would love to have him as a special teams player and project 2nd TE. You swap him and Smoke from wetumpka and mountain brook gets better and wetumpka gets worse.
  5. Probably a few more weeks. Late July into August look for movement. Coaches are on vacation right now I think. Kids are in the heart of 7v7 tournaments. Which I hope we have some coaches. Looking at you coach porter to be there scouting underclassmem.
  6. War Eagle. Great video. Classy and not bodacious.
  7. I knew someone would pick him up on signing day and no one was talking about it but we definitely got a steal with him. Should have easily been a middle grade 4 star. 92ish rating on 247... Kudos to the staff for keeping their eyes on him and keeping it low key what they were seeing in him.
  8. Bell and Ashley are way over weight. Not a huge surprise with an incoming freshman out of playing shape. Most kids coming from high school think they need to add weight but don't realize it's really bad weight that they put on. Bell is disappointing because of his age and being an incoming Senior transfer. I would imagine his ideal playing weight would be around 315. 40 pounds overweight. Whitlow may also need to get down to around 200. But same applies to him that did for Ashley. @bigbird I'm still predicting Whitlow to safety and probably punt returner in the future.
  9. Way to heavy... 57 Deshaun Davis LB 5-11 246 Jr. (NC) Just right for now... 30 Tre’ Williams LB 6-2 225 Sr. (-10)
  10. We have been known as Tailback U or Running back U but our fullbacks have been outstanding over the years. Beasley, Richardson, Prosch. Heck so many I can't even remember. Oh Tommy Agee, William Andrews just to name a few
  11. Sorry just checking in here been a busy couple weeks. Teague is the 20 times a game type back like Bubba. Asa Martin is like KJ will get his carries but will be asked to do more stuff more in the passing game both catching and blocking. Worm is like K-Mart speed guy will get 8-10 touches a game couple inside runs outside runs try to create mismatches through alignment, swing passes, wheel routes. Malik Miller and D. Barrett will fill in the Pettway role but I think D. Barrett will do a little more as well. They will be the work horses and pound the rock. You have to have those guys that just pound and pound yet have the skill to press the line of scrimmage and make people miss in the hole. If you remember back in the Bowden days after Davis graduated we had a lot of specialized backs but no true pound the rock backs. Our run game was nonexistent.
  12. Golf, us and few old timers are probably the only ones that know who/what that is... Danger Will Robinson
  13. Kam "lost in space" Martin my new nickname for him...
  14. First of all never should a LB or DE be just running free toward the QB (backfield). An interior lineman should be able to get a hand to knock them off balance or adjust their angle of pursuit thus helping the RB. Safety/CB blitz is a different story the back must be able to at least slow them down. That's why the blitz in the UGA game last year was so weird we were just allowing the MLB a free run into the backfield.
  15. From my perspective on Hastings role or the KMart role depends on how well he can block on blitz pickup. Some little guys know how to block and some big guys don't know. That's the little things in football that wins games for you.
  16. @Momma Worm Just checking in to see how Shaun is doing in the offseason and to let you know us fans at AUFamily are still here. Would love some inside info on camps especially if he is participating in any 7v7's in the Birmingham/Montgomery area?
  17. I'm not a mod but it's a democracy right? I vote @AuburnNTexas gets the hall pass I've used this offseason. Still Harley Quinn > Harold Joiner
  18. yeah yeah... I've oogled her before to lol
  19. E the stalker. I, too, like 'em a lil crazy. She was ummm "spectatular" in SS
  20. Reminds me of a young Kris Frost but with a linebacker physicality. Never thought Kris was physical enough for his skill set.
  21. Then you should be wanting us to get on Master Teague and Martin because Joiner isn't a physical back.
  22. I'm right there with you E. Average running back imo just a guy that's bigger and stronger then high school kids.
  23. I love the concept of the offense. But this quote is for every offense imagined. If executed it will be highly effective. I'm trying not to get to high on the offense from A-day because the defense wasn't very good and DB play was poor.
  24. Prediction - This kid blows up during the summer camps and during a productive senior HS season. I predict he moves to a 92 for 247.
