  1. You've mentioned this issue before - what is the deal? I would think Gus understands that we can't win with 14 guards on the roster. Does he just have a different list of desired OT targets from Grimes? It doesn't make sense that the OL coach would have to fight for a proportionate number of scholarships.
  2. Dumpster fire of a team, lousy program with little winning tradition, dumpy arena, nerdy coach who underachieved at Indiana and then threw his own team under the bus this season during a losing streak. Sure, makes perfect sense that the top player in America wanted to get in on that. After that and George Pickens, I am not taking another word from a UGA fan about anything AU has ever done.
  3. Freshman 15? Somebody get that kid a box of Krispy Kremes, a Momma's Love and a case of Budweiser right away...
  4. Listed at 215 - I'm assuming he is slated for a redshirt if they intend to keep him at TE. Maybe he'll be able to contribute early but if so I'm guessing it could be at WR like Canella.
  5. The TE position is a special level of cursed for this program. There are just no words. I know we've all been frustrated by the lack of a TE in the offense, and some is certainly on the coaches - but sometimes it just seems like the universe has determined that AU will never complete another pass to a TE under any circumstances... Just to recap since Uzomah left: We've had one guy get murdered, another accused of rape and dismissed. One who played some as a blocker but transferred out. One who couldn't bulk up that moved to WR. Now we sign a prototypical TE and he immediately tears his ACL. That leaves one guy - Shenker - for 2019. And I believe he was originally recruited more for the hybrid H-back role. (If Fromm is really 215 lbs as listed, he'll have to redshirt to bulk up). So even if Gus was planning to try to bring back the Lutz/CJU role in the red zone next year, he won't have the players for it.
  6. This stat I actually understand - It's an attempt to replace runs with short passes due to a completely inept offensive line. It was really our only hope to stay in this game, but there was no margin for error on either side of the ball (and we made plenty of errors).
  7. Miller played pretty well but he may be the slowest player to ever wear an AU jersey. Asa Martin is the only hope going forward and I can't fathom why he wasn't involved today. But as others have stated - it doesn't matter much if the OL can't get any push. Their performance was dreadful all day.
  8. I can pretty confidently say there's not an NFL player in that starting 5. Heck, I'm always too optimistic about our better OLs getting drafted (Pugh, Isom, Berry, Dismukes) and I'm still wrong about that most of the time. Maybe Brahms or Troxell will work their way into the lineup soon and who knows what their ceiling may be. I've wondered the same about Grimes - I think you have to wait and see if these guys progress as the season goes along. But a major talent infusion is desperately needed. UGA lost their starting LT against SC, and a true (5 star) freshman came in and played even better. That's what we're up against now.
  9. Planning to use KJ at 50% was my fear going into this. It was clear he was really hurting - Gutsy effort on his part. I was really hoping we would plan around Miller/Martin.
  10. Just hoping the University of Auburn doesn't steal another one from us here...
  11. I have been really impressed with Anfernee McLemore in the limited minutes that he has played. He is an inch shorter than Spencer but seems to be a little more aggressive on the boards and has a good nose for the ball. I wouldn't be surprised if he works his way into the starting rotation next year. Also apparently he got accepted to MIT so the kid is bright.
  12. Oh. Well Southwestern Baptist Louisiana Women's College calls timeout then
  13. This offense doesn't work without the H-back blocking. It will have to be KJ and Truitt. Let's hope they can take the beating between the tackles.
