  1. I'm not even sure there are a lot of favorites though... Mason was the only hire that excited me and he is looking rough. No one was excited for Bobo etc.
  2. He said it in one of his interviews a few weeks back
  3. It was 60% in June and Harsin said more and more players were getting the shot every week over the past few months. Do the math. Also we haven't had any more people held out than other teams lately so that's not the issue. It was much ado about nothing
  4. Hey June called.... The overwhelming majority of the team and staff have gotten the shot. This is an outdated bad take.
  5. Pappoe has been hurt, so that just leaves TD and it could be anything. Most of the team and staff are vaccinated so it's just dumb to keep harping on that at every possible turn. He could be vaxxed and still have covid, if that's even the issue.
  6. Walker has an injured shoulder you doofus. Pappoe has a nagging injury as well.
  7. They didn't seem to notice last week... He's been hurt since the beginning drive at Penn St.
  8. Wouldn't matter if his shoulder is also injured, as I suspect it is. They need to just roll with TJ this week and then figure out the rest of the season from there
  9. Maybe Mason could start Sarah Fuller at DE to improve our pass rush
  10. It's what I'm hearing as well. So in addition to underperforming (like many of our coaches thus far), it appears that Corn also doubled down by showing up his boss in front of the troops. That will get you fired pretty much 10 out of 10 times in any job where you haven't established yourself yet. That's why it was him and not Friend or someone else. Plus having plays where the WRs didn't even know they were supposed to be on the field etc. Edit - I'm not trying to spin this as a positive. It's not a good look for Harsin to have to fire someone he just hired, and the timing isn't great for recruiting either.
  11. I want to see food trucks - Do they still set up outside the stadium? It's been a couple of years since I made it to a game. That soul food truck used to have terrific catfish (it was from somewhere over near Valley I think?).
  12. I used to fuss about these games, but now I have to admit it's nice to have a cheap game to take the kids to. All those hot dogs and cotton candies start to add up... Plus I can leave at halftime. I know it would never happen, but I would favor just cutting one game out of the schedule and going back to 11 for the regular season. Take off one meaningless non-conference game and give the players an extra off-week to heal up.
  13. Jeff Holland was the last AU player who could consistently hit QBs. Four years ago. It's hard to fathom. On the other hand, I wouldn't really know if anyone on this roster could get home since we dropped 7-8 on every pass play. I think Mason deserves a bit more heat than he's getting for that game plan.
  14. Cambridge is so streaky from outside. As Rigby said, I'd like to at least see what Moore can do from the 3. I haven't really seen him play enough to know if he's a viable option there.
  15. Seriously. You always know the shot to the credentials is coming, you just don't know exactly when. Thinking ahead: Can Jabari play the 3, with Kessler at 4 and Dylan/Jaylin at 5? I love Cambridge, but I think he is better off the bench.
  16. My (unpopular) prediction is that the defensive front is still too soft, and teams will run it up the middle on us. When we had Truesdell coming back, folks on here were downplaying Fair as an overweight rotational guy who couldn't even start at UAB. Now, suddenly I'm supposed to believe he is ready to anchor a defensive front that will dominate the SEC? Along with Pegues, who hasn't played a single down on defense. Seems like a bit of a reach. Sorry, I hope I am wrong and you can throw this back in my face in a couple of months. But I think the new scheme coupled with the personnel we have will need another year to flourish.
  17. Ha! Was that downtown Opelika? My grandmother worked at Gayfer's for many years, in downtown and then when it moved out to the mall.
  18. I was still a kid in the 80s so I probably only got ice cream at the original location. I was too picky for chili dogs back then, I only ate them plain (or "naked" as the Varsity would say). By the time I got to AU in 97, they had moved it out to that dumpy laundromat building on Dean and it wasn't anything special as I recall.
  19. Maybe my biggest frustration (out of many) with Gus was his refusal to throw a ball FORWARD into the end zone. Once we crossed inside the 20, it was all runs, sweeps, reverses and screens. I think a lot of it didn't work in the red zone just simply due to having 11 defenders so close to the line.
  20. Well to be fair, Big Cat was a master of getting to the QB... two seconds after they completed a pass
