  1. I know he says he is still open for recruitment, but he is a lifelong Auburn fan so there is that. Top247 OT Carde Smith commits to Auburn Jake Thornton has another addition to his OL class. CHRISTIAN CLEMENTE20 hrs32 Carde Smith is an Auburn Tiger. It's something he dreamed of growing up in the state of Alabama, and now it's a reality for the offensive tackle after he committed to the Tigers on Wednesday. Playing for former Auburn defensive lineman Antonio Coleman at Williamson (Ala.), Smith is tabbed by 247Sports as the No. 216 player, No. 23 offensive tackle and No. 16 player from Alabama. He’s listed at 6-foot-5 and 285 pounds. "It's very family-oriented," Smith told Auburn Undercover I grew up an Auburn fan. My mom fell in love with Auburn. I fell in love with Auburn. My coach went to Auburn. He was able to tell me the ins and outs of it. Going and viewing the campus and sitting down with Coach Freeze and Coach Thornton, sitting down and talking with the players and actually going out with the players, it just felt like home." ‌ Smith joins Auburn’s 2025 class after taking several visits this spring to his top contenders of Auburn and Mississippi State. Smith camped at Auburn last summer as he was just getting on the recruiting scene, landing an offer last fall as things took off with offensive line coach Jake Thornton leading the way in his recruitment. That early offer was a big deal as Smith weighed his options down the homestretch. ‌ "It was very important because that's actually how I got the Auburn offer. I was at a camp and was dominating," Smith said. "Coach (Thornton) was having me go every rep and teaching me new stances. He called me the next day and I got the offer. How he kept it real. He said when you come here you're going to have to work. We're not just going to give it to you. You have to dominate. If you want to be at Auburn you've got to dominate." Hugh Freeze was also active in Smith's recruitment, working to keep the in-state talent within the state. ‌ "It's very important," Smith said. "The thing that separates Coach Freeze from everybody else is that he doesn't just teach you about football. He teaches you how to be a man. He encourages you. When I was at their meeting he didn't talk about football. He talked about the church side of it and praying and how to keep God in your life. The ins and outs of being a man." In what’s set to be a big offensive line haul, Smith is commitment No. 4 for the Tigers as he joins recent 3-star interior offensive line commit Tai Buster, Top247 offensive tackle Tavaris Dice and fellow 3-star in-state product Spencer Dowland. Overall Smith is commitment No. 10 for the Tigers, pushing Auburn up to No. 7 in the 247Sports team recruiting rankings. "I'm very excited. We've got plans to get that national championship," Smith said. "I'm coming. You're getting a dog."
  2. In the words of a very southern version of Socrates ... Well DooDoo
  3. You could tell White's head is swimming. He held onto the ball way too long. Just too indecisive. They should have counted 4 sacks against him. He'll be a good one, but probably not this year.
  4. Awesome group of prospects, now let's get them to sign!
  5. The one that signs with us of course
  6. Damn I'm old, I totally understood that.
  7. Wow this is AWESOME. I love what Freeze is doing. This wasn't even Big Cat weekend and we still brought in the studs!
  8. Ditto, I do not like Nike, but it's best for the school at this point.
  9. One of those two 3 pointers was a bank shot, so let's not get too carried away.
  10. What is the purpose of the tennis ball they roll through there?
  11. Yep, it's hard to win a baseball game giving up 10 free bags.
  12. If nothing else we can have the Terry Beasley football picks contest each year.
  13. Great idea. That would be really cool.
  14. As a kid I had 1 Auburn jersey #88. My best friend had a #7 jersey. We were as inseparable as they were. I remember reading an article about Terry. Long after his career was over and after all the concussions. They asked what he would change if he could do it over and he said not one thing. May God bless you Terry.
  15. Looks like a good way to get rid of their coach without paying a buyout to me.
  16. With everybody that has transfered out of there, they need a win bad ... and they have freed up a lot of $$$ now
  17. Nope, it snowed and then did what it is supposed to do in central Alabama ... melted and went away the next day
  18. Strength and conditioning coach name STUDzinski ... Love it. One of the companies I use to work for had a VP name Dick Hammer, but Studzinski is so fitting!
  19. Didn't Lane burn some bridges last time he was there?
