  1. Going to shamelessly bump my own thread, as it's about that time.
  2. Going in the right direction when Cardwell hits both FTs. ...and then the runout!
  3. Florida missing 1-and-1s...good, good. Patience without going complete shell mode on offense now.
  4. Wearing 'em out inside...keep going there until they stop it.
  5. Interesting move, but it went...nicely done, Jaylin.
  6. I'm just glad we're not one of the teams white-knuckling it today like we were in 2003.
  7. FAU was the AAC' only candidate for an at-large bid (and are still projected to be in), so the AAC is now a two-bid league instead of a one-bid league. Teams like Seton Hall, Virginia and St. John's did not want to see the likes of Temple or NC State winning yesterday.
  8. Sure is, actually. Neither of those teams was getting in without winning their conference tournament...both of them have NET rankings in the triple digits.
  9. They're 2-15 to start...missing a great chance to get them down big.
  10. If I'm stealing anyone's thunder, my apologies. I figure a place for general discussion about the bracket, both AU and non-AU related, is in order. 5 or so hours until we know where we're headed...hopefully as a #3 seed. 🤞 Multiple bid thieves last night/today (NC State, Oregon, Temple/UAB winner, arguably New Mexico) have lots of schools sweating it out. Usually there's 1 or 2 that people talk about as being significant omissions, but I think there may be more than that this year. Ready to get this thing going!
  11. They're nerve-wracking, but the guys needed to win this sort of a game. Glad to have a chance to play for a title.
  12. They look like we did in our first game in 2022...we tightened it up some, but couldn't overcome our horrid start.
  13. If Mississippi State can keep the margin out far enough to where Tennessee won't foul to extend the game, might get started pretty close to the scheduled time of 2:30 CDT. I'm predicting that the Volunteers will tighten this one up enough to where it'll get dragged out, so I'll predict a random tip time of 2:50 CDT.
  14. The one question I have about this year's team is being able to win a tight game. If this one is close late, hopefully we'll make winning decisions and winning plays. That said, after the last couple of SEC tournament results, a win will be nice however it comes.
  15. Nope, you're not wrong. The national GOP wants nothing to do with a candidate that can actually get things done. They're happy being controlled opposition that is more than happy to bitch about problems, but not accomplish anything meaningful. In one election cycle, DeSantis went from a very narrow win in 2018 to a nearly 20% margin of victory in 2022, winning 62 of 67 counties, including Miami-Dade and Palm Beach, the latter of which hadn't been won by a Republican since 1986. That's doing work. GOP primary voters said "Nah, we're good with Trump", which tells me that there is an unquantifiably large amount of derp present.
  16. I knew the answer to this one before I even opened the thread. It took us a long time to get some of our rivals to play us in Auburn regularly, and Alabama was the last domino to fall. There was no way in hell I was selling my ticket to that game, because I was fully aware of the history being made. I didn't even try to drive anywhere after about Wednesday of that week because of all the people in town that just wanted to be a part of the environment. It felt vitally important to win this particular game, even though getting the game on campus was the big-picture victory. That '89 team might not have been our most talented group, but they saved their best for last and are probably my favorite team of my years at AU.
  17. I'll be interested to see who they end up putting out there as a candidate, and they need to get it right. I don't think they can run someone that is an unknown. It's a totally different landscape to navigate compared to pre-social media 1992. It was about now in 1992 that Ross Perot started showing up on the radar. The environment right now is ripe for the picking for an alternative to the decrepit duo.
  18. Bump, since the decision came down today. Not surprised that the CO court decision was reversed, but am a bit surprised that it was 9-0. Link to a PDF of the SC opinion Image of the crux of the reason for the reversal:
  19. You must really hate the admittedly very-dimwitted-as-a-whole voting populace. I don't think "deserve" is the correct word here.
  20. There is actually zero point in having these two eggplants debate. We've seen this movie already, and there's no reason to think debates would be any more enlightening than they were four years ago. A rollator race would be more insightful.
  21. Not overly excited for this matchup...just hope it's not a blowout.
  22. At this point, anyone shilling or goaltending for either Tweedle-old or, specific to this thread, Tweedle-older, isn't worth taking seriously, especially after tonight's ill-advised press conference. Basically, Joe wasn't charged due to the perception of feeblemindedness and not having the capability of forming criminal intent. That report wasn't complimentary, it was embarrassing. Joe's memory is fine, though...I mean, s***, just ask him. He'll be telling us in the morning that he's gotten in touch with Sir Edward Heath in London and reassured him that he's good to go.
  23. I'll play: What is "There's a whole lot of stuff in that bill that does not have a damned thing to do with U.S. border security?" This annoys me as much as anything these f'ing congress critters do: 1. Call it "Border Bill" 2. Throw in unrelated, hot-button items. 3. When objections to Border Bill are raised, people scream "WHY DO YOU HATE (fill in unrelated, hot-button items)?", when in fact maybe people don't hate unrelated hot-button item, but want it to be considered separately. If you want money for something, write a bill for THAT THING, and if stands on its own merits and gets passed, then so be it. This game of hiding poison pills inside bills is infuriating.
  24. Damned accurate, and I don't see much of anything on the horizon to change it. Whitmire has a hell of a challenge in front of him as mayor.
  25. That this is the case strongly challenges the notion that we have an informed electorate. The former Soviet Union would look at these two guys we're trotting out and say "damn, we just thought our guys were old and tired."
