I was at scrimmage. JF3 outplayed SW. SW eventually started moving the ball and looked good. Neither looked very good throwing the football. I believe SW had 2 TO JF3 1 and JF3 was on the 4th down drill.

JF3 has been struggling, but his struggles have been exaggerated a bit. You are correct on he will definitely have a role on offense if he is not our starter, but I would call it redzone qb. I said wildcat in a post before but any rb can play a wildcat qb. JF3 would have packages where he is gonna throw the football. Consistency throwing the football is the key word here.

Yeah that is true if you are just planning on using him as a wildcat running qb. When I say JF3 as the redzone qb he would be throwing the ball also.

I have no bias except towards AU. Whoever gives us the best chance to win will get the job. Sorry though it is a fact that the coaches prefer JF3 WIN the job, that does not mean they are bias either just think that JF3 skill set is a better fit for our offensive scheme. So let me translate this if JF3 can improve his passing enough to win the qb1 spot this would give us a higher chance for success on offense.

He is gonna play qb in the SEC this year. Whether it be situational redzone/wildcat or a full time starter. He is close enough where our coaches are delaying a decision to see if he can win the job against Clemson the first game.

Maybe not but We shall see. Remember we are getting Clemson the first game of the year at home with 7 new starters on their defense. Clemson is not UAT or LSU that can reload on defense without missing a beat. They lost 7 starters off of their defense including studs like Lawson, Dodd, and Alexander. North Carolina and UAT fared pretty well against last year's defense. A&M will have one of the best tandem of de in the country. I also think Mack who will be a sophomore this year will be one of the better dt in the SEC.

You put the best player on the field whether you are winning games or not as long as it does not mess with team chemistry. Sure if we are 4-1 or 5-0 through this stretch run and SW has been the starter stay with the hot hand. I think it would be a transition that happens during Arky State game. This may all be a mute point anyway if JF3 wins the job during camp. The race is tighter atm than alot of people think. Again this is all my opinion and I am not a football coach. I give info that I am able to obtain, but this is not info coming from anyone but me. I do know and this is a fact that the coaches prefer JF3 is able 2 win the job.

Debatable at best about the defenses. Clemson lost 7 starters off of last year's defense. UAT, LSU, A&M, and UGA will all have better defenses than Clemson imo. I am not saying this is a plan to let SW start vs Clemson then pull him for JF3. I am saying IMO even if SW starts vs Clemson JF3 will WIN the job from him sooner rather than later. I don't see how this would be a recipe for disaster at all really.

I don't think it would be as bad as I seems. I fully believe SW could get us past a Clemson defense, but when we get to the big time SEC defenses JF3 would be the better option. Again that's just my opinion that even if SW starts vs Clemson JF3 will end up being the starter sooner thereafter.

I didn't watch much of Evans video. How was he as a runner?

Defense has a chance to be special this year. We have some studs on defense.

I agree with this especially with MA, DW, and DD. As for the qb situation the coaches would prefer JF3 win the job and are going to give him every opportunity too. He just fits what they want to do on offense alot better than SW. Even if SW starts against Clemson which is likely at this time JF3 will be the starter sooner rather than later imo. That is unless of course SW comes out and plays at an extremely high level and we are winning.

What are your thoughts on KB? I know the coaches think very highly of him.

I think NCM can do bigger things at AU than Duke or Sammie did. NCM definitely has better hands than Sammie did and he is faster than Duke. We do need a dependable wr like DA who runs great routes and catches the ball. DA made alot of big plays for us. That 4th down catch against UAT was as clutch as it gets.

We feel good about our chances atm. This kid would be a perfect fit for the offense. With JS, WB, and JG we would be absolutely loaded at the qb position for the future. Art Briles is really helping us here, I also expect KB to be part of the staff next year.

It's a joke that Joey is not rated a top 10 player nationally on every site. He is the best qb in the 2018 class and easily a top 5 player imo.

I am by no means an evaluator. Our coaches feel he is the best qb prospect next year. Also you can't find a better fit for our system.

Keith is wrong imo if he is saying our chances are very long with Akers because we have 3 rbs committed. I don't think us having 3 rbs committed will affect Akers one way or another. Akers could come to Auburn and be a starter or very least in the 2 deep at rbs next year. Like I said Akers is the best player in the 2017 class imo and we will take him no matter what if he decided he wanted to come. Also I very highly doubt he is afraid of any competition. DB is a good player, but Akers is a game changer. That being said we are not running any better than 4th right now with Akers. With DB I am glad he will be coming to Auburn, and he is a solid player.

Gatewood is going to be an absolute stud for us. Imo he is the best qb in the class of 2018, better than Trevor Lawrence.

Yeah look like DB gonna pick AU. I really want us to throw out all the stops to get Cam Akers. Akers is the best player in the class regardless of position this year imo.

Bama has had 2 recent Heisman trophy winning rbs so I can see how they had both committed at one time. I agree we should be on the short list for both we r rbu

Cam def gonna be hard to pull. He is giving us a look though. Cam would be an absolute stud in our offense imo. Cam Akers is the best rb in the country. Harris is good, but I like Akers more. Harris will be a stud in Bama offense though.

This has to be intriguing to Mond with 3 of the top OL in the country protecting him. I know all 3 are on him about Auburn, especially CA.
