Hey buddy, I heard from one yesterday that was about like that too.................dicey times when the chiefs start squeeking instead of the braves. Too much stuff going on right now.........How close are you to Louisville pops? 2 hours. We're basically still in Nashville, just about 40 miles north and 2 miles inside the Kentucky border. Little quaint town called Allensville; population about 500. Yes, we smile a lot!! Today, I've been watching workers load the tobacco barns and start their "burns". Thankfully, I've never smoked cigarettes, but that smell is awfully appealing .

Good afternoon tt and all; I'm taking advantage of this great weather and getting some landscaping done for Fall. Life is good (except for Auburn football). BTW, and Bird can confirm, I have some very good friends in some very good places who are highly pissed right now!!

Late to the party...... awfully glad I didn't see this last night.....sleep would have been out of the question. Yes, Golf, I too remember the bomb threats (and the evacuation drills). Chills for such a bad time in our history.

Funny you should ask since Judy and I were talking about it just this morning!! We are sorta hesitant about asking them about it, thinking it might have been mentioned at the height of emotions for all of us, so we haven't asked. The base of the story would be that our daughter was active in something in Nashville called the "Under the Bridge" ministry, and the Sunday before she fell into a coma, she witnessed at the service and brought many, many folks to the altar of God. Under the Bridge is called that because it ministers to the homeless and under-privileged to live there, many in cardboard boxes. Thanks for asking, though. If anything develops, I;ll let you know.
  11. This is a "bump" to a thread over on AE that we "seasoned" members had a lot of fun with, so I thought there would be some other senior members on the AUFamily side that had memories and/or stories to share. If you have time, read some of these posts and share your experience. War Eagle!! BTW, from where I sit, there is no AE/AUF sides anymore; I'm loving this site!!

What he said. Damn!! I thought I could sneak in and out!! How are all of you guys ( and gals)? I'm gonna bet, after all the "press coverage" that "The Asylum" is becoming the most popular thread for curiosity seekers. Isn't it nice to be loved!!? Seriouly, really great to be back with all of you. So far so good with the merger. Good to see you too pops, that was a long week. Good friends are hard to find and worth hanging on to. How have things been going for you and yours? Yes, indeed they are, and become more valuable and appreciated as time goes by. We are doing well; thanks for asking. Judy and I are spending a lot of time with our grandkids, and that's great therapy for all. Hope you and yours are well!!

I would like to say God-speed to you all; many thanks for all your support and friendship during our difficult times, and our not-difficult times. I feel a bond to you guys, not just because of Auburn, but because of your grace and love of the good things life has to offer. I'll be over on the other side, struggling to get up to speed, so I pray I'll see you soon. God Bless to you all.

Sorry for the intrusion from a sane, yet senior-challenged one, but I had an impulsive question for the musically-inclined here. I was listening to a Dylan tape last night, and the harmonica in many of his cuts is something someone of my age finds very moving. I remember Billy Joel having the same in many of his songs. tt, or anyone, is that now a lost art with more recent offerings, or am I not looking far enough? I find the sound of the harmonica very relaxing and peaceful.

I'm wary of entering The Asylum, but I'll risk it; I thought the post was funny in a terribly ironic way. This is such a horrible, horrible story but you need to put some light of day in things sometimes.
