  1. Agreed, when Seth made that great 1 handed catch, it was because the db had a firm grip on his other wrist, and he couldn't use the other arm on the catch. I hate the arbitrary way it is called now.
  2. Dang, that's a nice play!! It would belong in an NFL all-Pro highlight reel.
  3. Gif is labeled Nick Saban says you shouldn't have high expectations, but **** Nick Saban
  4. I can't get optimistic about this one. CB a few weeks ago to Texas from an A&M guy who is 44 of 44 on his predictions. I believe we've become a serious contender, but still.... I'll just count this one as a bonus if it happens.
  5. There's a little angst on the UT boards over Thompson. Fans are definitely concerned; I think they thought he was a lock.
  6. I'm not worried. Depth chart makes it attractive. Unlike O-line, DB is a position where true freshman can contribute immediately. We will wind up with what we need. That said, it would be nice to have a few commits.
  7. Holy ^%$^&^%$! Impressive. As easy as he made it look, I'm pretty sure he could add 10 lbs to it.
  8. The staff has done a great job recruiting quality athletes who are also quality people. Steiner epitomizes this; and I will be rooting hard for him. I love the atmosphere the coaches are creating.
  9. If he will commit, we should take him. I'd rather have a stud linebacker now than a possible 7th OL slot or 5th DB slot that we may or may not be able to fill with a quality player.
  10. Where did you find the SPARQ scores? That really is amazing considering Pappoe had the high score in 2018, I believe.
  11. Well, I feel good about it, and Steiner would be a huge pickup. The words 'virtual lock" seem like baiting the karma gods, however. Not that I'm superstitious, knock on wood.
  12. Of course you can never count on any recruit to be as good as Caddy. But we have plenty of depth at RB. We don't need numbers. Taking one outstanding guy would be fine this year.
  13. I remember Cadillac's recruitment. ALL the coaches showed up at his house, and told him that if he signed, he'd be the only RB they'd take. It worked. May be time to dust off that playbook. Use the other schollie at a position of more need.
  14. Dennis Rodman grew 7 or 8 inches after graduating from high school. Unusual, but it happens. Lot of odd things about Rodman though, lol.
  15. https://www.ajc.com/sports/college/parker-braun-transfer-from-georgia-tech/ZqJZlGWr2TGXN6q6z1eRZJ/ So, is Parker Braun on our radar screen?
  16. It's great if you are mobile enough to run the zone read effectively. Colt McCoy did it well at Texas for 4 years without Marshall speed. But even more important than that is the ability to elude the first tackler when pressured by the defense. I think Bo will be able to do that. It was a real problem with Stidham, along with holding the ball too long.
  17. Haven't really watched his film before. Bo is more mobile than I thought. Our other QB's are going to have to be very very good to hold him off.
  18. Yeah, the Spur guy who grabbed Bevo's left horn while simultaneously kicking the woman in black out of the way may have saved 2 people some serious injuries. Funny now, but damn...
  19. I actually agree with that. UGA's main problem was they were bitterly disappointed to be in the Sugar Bowl. Bevo trying to gore UGA before the game sorta set the tone, lol.
  20. Well, UGA may have some talent, but they were getting their asses handed to them all night from a so-so Texas defensive line.
  21. Here's the thing. Stars don't tell you as much for OL as they do other positions. There is safety in numbers. If you can't get the 4 & 5 star guys you want, take some 3 star guys. If you can't get them, take some 2 star guys. It is hard to tell who will pan out on the OL. 3 or the top 6 Offensive tackles in the 2017 NFL draft were 2 star or less. They went to Western Kentucky, Troy, and Western Michigan. It's hard work evaluating OL talent. But it is critical to offensive success. We need to take more of them. And do a better job evaluating deeper into the talent pool. 2 OL in a class is just stupid.
  22. This is a bit of an echo of what others are saying, I know. There aren't enough 4 and 5 star offensive lineman to go around, and I understand how you can lose a recruiting battle for a top guy. What I don't understand is how you screw up the numbers. Offensive lineman almost always take a year to 3 years to develop. You have to have a pipeline, and you need to take 3 to 5 guys every year. Once the pipeline breaks down, you just can't fix it. It's not like corner back or running back where you can frequently get immediate help. I don't know if the pressure to win now keeps the coaches from thinking 2 or 3 years in the future, but yeesh. You can't tell me there aren't 3 star lineman going to Kentucky, Vanderbilt, and a host of other schools that we couldn't have gotten had we recruited them. 2 OL in this class is a disaster. If you have a good QB, and a good offensive line, you can always find good skill players. Great skill players with a mediocre offensive line is still just a mediocre offense. We need to find some help here. Badly.
  23. I'm pretty happy with the WR's that we have, and those on the roster. It wouldn't bother me at all to end with 2. I hope this is a big OL class. I think it is hard position to recruit from the standpoint that there are few measurables. Determination and drive have a lot to do with long-term development, and you see guys like Driscoll who was a 2 star recruit wind up being very good. It can be hard to predict who has those intangibles, and there is some safety in numbers. I'd love to see us take five every year. Winning the line of scrimmage is 90% of the battle in football.
