The nature of the beating is hard to overlook. You could count the positive AU plays on both sides of the ball on one hand. I can't get over the New Mexico State quarterback. The kid was gutsy and tough but he reminded me of a backup quarterback from "Friday Night Lights.". The AU defensive backs covered nothing and made him look like an All American.

They played arguably worse against New Mexico State than LSU who had All-American wide receivers. In an era when quarterbacks are big and fast like Jayden Daniels they never laid a hand on a five foot ten Mexican-America kid. Pathetic performance.

The whole game, there were a whole lot of missed tackles and attempted arm tackles.

The play of the defensive backs was shockingly poor. All we've heard is they were the strength of the team. They couldn't cover anyone. The wide receivers regressed. It was an all around pathetic performance.

The LSU receivers particularly seemed like men playing against boys when they got loose in the secondary, breaking several tackles on each play.. We have been hearing about the talent disparity between Auburn and the SEC big dogs but it was glaring last night. The difference between Daniels and Thorne was like comparing a Lexus to a Saturn. I think they should have let Robbie play the whole second half.
