  1. I’m not sure I’d want to be anywhere near the court during practices this week. The visible lack of effort and urgency yesterday would make a personality like BP explode. I firmly believe he will get the attention to detail and focus corrected in short order.
  2. Auburn is currently in the midst of our program’s “Golden Age” of basketball based on AU history. THESE are the best of times, and our fans better soak it in and enjoy every minute. To say it’s Stagnated and under achieved while Pearl makes the tourney every year is ludicrous when compared to the pre-Pearl era.
  3. Lack of effort is more frustrating than anything else IMO. Loafing and low effort or attention to detail will undoubtedly fire up the coaching staff.
  4. Yep. These studs won’t wait around for a QB to mature and effectively get them the ball so they can show their stuff. I’m sure Freeze knows this and has a plan in place for the QB position. He knows he’s got to showcase these WRs.
  5. Lane acts like a juvenile, and he knows Hugh can’t respond so he takes his shots in a public forum with childish antics.
  6. My understanding is the university may be dealing with the fallout of the actions of CW for some time and he placed his employer in a risk/liability situation. Brings to mind a ‘word of advice’ from my grandfather, ‘don’t get your honey where you get your money.” There’s one thing that’s been undefeated since the dawn of time, and we all know what that is.
  7. Come on man, you say don’t drag ZE through the mud and then you bring trash talk like this here? Someone needs to delete this thread.
  8. I imagine Kirby is a slave driver over there, leaves little to no time for anything else and it would have to wear on home life. Muschamp got paid handsomely by UF and USC, it’s not like he needs the money. Just take a step back, get off the field and off the recruiting mouse wheel.
  9. Getting advice during the offseason and maybe through spring during the transition may have been the AD’s idea. I mean who better to make important introductions to the money men, NFL contacts, HS coaches than have Saban open the doors and aid in the transition? But anything beyond that or NS still being involved on into summer is overkill and likely won’t be welcomed by the new coaching staff. I vaguely remember Spurrier having an office at UF that Jeremy Foley set up when McElwain was the HC. I don’t think McElwain liked the old ball coach poking his head the door during meetings or coaching sessions. I just don’t see the need for it beyond the initial transition period.
  10. This feels like such a hot mess. I hope Hugh has a method to the madness.
  11. I guess if you’re going to hit a home run hire, you go get the guy that just coached an NC game a couple of days ago. 🤮
  12. lol. Hugh knows Caddy is an important piece of the fabric of Auburn Football and well respected by the Auburn Family.
  13. Winning at their level cures everything! No one is bickering, fighting, tweeting negative and dysfunctional crap about winning programs. Folks are too busy doing their jobs to nit pick and find faults with others.
  14. I’d love to see Chiz headlining as an ESPN analyst now that the SEC is tied solely to ESPN. Chizik is the best analyst in the business IMHO. He does his homework, he’s unbiased and has a great way of breaking down the game to an elementary level without being condescending.
  15. I’m leaning towards your way of thinking relative to the portal. Maybe it’s better to let another program deal with the initial depreciation of a green high school player. Try to pick him up in the portal after another program spent the time, resources and man hours getting him acclimated to college life. IDK what the secret to consistent success is anymore
  16. My apologies if my comment caused offense. I don’t think one can honestly deny AU’s PR accomplishments weren’t first class when Cohen was tasked with selling the CHF hire to an ultra conservative fan base such as ourselves.
  17. AU has an ace PR machine. They sold the fan base on a HC with the sketchiest character possible and they did it in record time.
  18. I felt like Michigan dominated the LOS and specifically Bama’s oline all day. Its was a physical game that went down to the wire, the better team won.
  19. I’m nowhere close to running his ass out on a rail, but I’ve gotten more than a little weary of his comments over the last few months. I’d hoped he’d gotten away from that crap since he was at OM, I see not much has changed in his pressers.
  20. I don’t expect Auburn to become one of the elite, they haven’t been able to do it in my lifetime and I don’t expect that to change. But it would sure be nice if they could get back to posting a threat, challenging opponents and competing for a championship every now and then. This current rut stinks to high heaven as a fan. Thank goodness for Bruce.
  21. It’s not like Hugh had a whole lot of options in the head coaching profession, in the SEC, at a place like AU. It’s not like AU had a plethora of options to replace Harbin either. Auburn needed Freeze and Freeze needed Auburn. Now we play the wait-n-see game for a few years and see if he can miraculously string together back to back 9 or 10 win seasons…. Something many of his predecessors couldn’t find a way to do.
  22. Fans have no choice but to be patient, but damn I’m tired of the nonstop excuses for why a bunch of well paid men (now includes players) can’t do their jobs. Going on a flipping decade of mediocre and recently sub-mediocre football. 🤮
  23. It’s evident there’s a lack of talent, I’m not so sure we have affective and high caliber coaching either. There needs to be some serious development going on in the offseason and the coaching staff needs it just as much as the players.
  24. The money men acquired Freeze, they opened up the bank to buy the needed talent and they told Freeze to go shopping. On multiple occasions Freeze has stated publicly that he has been removed from the game planning aspect because he was occupied with recruiting. Common sense tells me he was instructed or told to stock the cupboard immediately. I can’t recall hearing another HC state that he was pretty much removed from the actual coaching/player development and game day prep because of his devotion to recruiting.
  25. Well it appears quite a few of the position coaches aren’t real good at motivating because with a HC that’s been AOWL and focused on recruiting that placed a lot of the motivation load on the rest of the staff and we all saw lack of motivation and focus in a few games this year. Somebody needs to step up in the coaching aspect.
