  1. I think when people realize that Hugh is very Gus’ish in his strategy, they’ll accept things for what they are and cope accordingly.
  2. In the past, maybe not right now, but I think offensive minded HCs may just have a hard time meshing with their OC staff? That may be why we’ve had so many in the last decade. I DGAS about optics at Auburn anymore. That was thrown out the window for me back around 2018 when that kook Josh Moon and JTate were reporting the play-by-play directly from the athletic department, saying Harbert was meeting with Gus (while Leath was out of town) trying to negotiate a buyout reduction because Gus was getting fired. Then the Sunny Golloway and Clint Myers’ embarrassing headlines. Bad optics are an Auburn tradition like the eagle flying on game day in JHS.
  3. I question how anyone could be complacent in this program with +40 new players on the roster and a whole new coaching, training and strength/conditioning staff? IMHO, maybe he should say he’s building a culture and a standard. It’s neither here nor there though, just my tick-tacky nitpicking based on a few comments from Hugh.
  4. Barney Farrar! Lol at the systematic operation old Barney orchestrated (right under Hugh’s nose) at OM where he set up an organized booster-player-recruit direct communication line to take care of the talent and keep ‘em happy and satisfied. 🤑💰
  5. Oh, it was a nasty $#!t$#Ow between those two. Nutt was pissed and hired Mars to run his defense, when Mars got Hugh’s phone records it was only for a short snippet of time, and the hooker # was investigated and Nutt literally knew he had enough to get Freeze fired. When Ole Miss checked all of Hugh’s phone records, they found a pattern of misconduct. I wouldn’t put it past Nutt to try to further complicate Freeze’s career. Lord knows Nutt’s got nothing but time on his hands these days.
  6. You didn’t mention but a few people have insinuated that Hugh’s stubbornness relative to this frustrating offense is intentional.
  7. THIS would be the absolute perfect year for Auburn to take advantage of the entire conference, and finally get to the CFP. Yet here we are again, mucking around looking dysfunctional. Auburn fails to capitalize on the misfortunes of others.
  8. For the record, I refuse to buy the snake oil notion that Hugh is intentionally tanking the offense OR that he DGAS about this season.
  9. A lot of this offense continues to look like Gus, may as well flip-flop back to play calling at this point, things can’t get worse.
  10. There are couple of goons over there that challenge each other. I’ll not comment on Carnell’s recruiting pedigree, I’ll simply say he’s fortunate to be an Auburn legend. I’m not sure he’d find a job in the same position at another P5 program of Auburn’s caliber.
  11. The IGNORE function is a thing of beauty if only people would stop quoting the troll. 😉
  12. I sure hope so, because Freeze/Montgomery haven’t been able to do much with 2 veteran QBs that have been in the college game for years.
  13. There’s no one to get them the ball, no current coach in staff appears to be able to scheme for a passing game…. Why would a top ranked prospect want to sign on for that when they could go elsewhere to show their skills and have fun competing for championships?
  14. How do you keep WR recruits on the hook and excited about joining this program when they watched the last 2 games and specifically yesterday when there was zero passing game?
  15. Everything LPTiger said is true. With that being said, I’m wondering why some of the Mods are saying coordinators need to be fired???
  16. The mods/insiders know, but they can’t reveal anything right now….it’ll all come out later. This is the usual mode of operation here.
  17. All we’ve heard for months is how everyone is aligned, all working together and building this team. It’s mid-season and the wind has shifted, hints that we may lose both coordinators, a seasoned and well respected position coach who is also an ace recruiter decides to step away from the field at mid-season. The more things change, the more they stay the same.
  18. Were you aware of any rift going on in the coaching staff? OR is this totally off base and his decision to step away is a family, health or other personal issue non-related to Roberts?
  19. This is a great pickup and perfect timing for the announcement after the dog barf of a game in Baton Rouge. Now hopefully we see even more big recruits announce to off set the McGriff news.
  20. Surely some of our insiders caught wind of this dust up between Robert’s/McGriff?!!
  21. That would’ve been pretty bad optics if Crime Dog had quit mid-season. Good on Hugh for handling the PR.
  22. This. When the QB has a tough time reading the defense, making his reads, finding his targets and delivering the pass it’s tough on the WRs. When the WRs can’t get desperation, and either don’t understand the game plan well enough to run their routes it’s tough on the QBs. The run game isn’t going to bail out the offense, and from the looks of Saturday night, the defense can’t carry the team like Kevin Steele’s and to do for so long.
  23. That statement removes all doubt that Hugh Freeze is 100% in control of this offense.
  24. AND with teams loaded with dozens of transfer players like AU & CU there’s bound to be a chemical imbalance in the locker room and amongst the ranks. No one should expect everyone to mesh well with all new personnel from the players to the coaches to the trainers to the equipment crew.
