  1. You were thinking Hugh had hit the mother load by snagging Thorne.
  2. A lot of eyes were clapped on that prime time match up in Baton Rouge on Saturday night.
  3. Well, I believe we’ve made fun of Kiffin for being the Transfer King in the past. I guess we’ll see what dozens of transfers can do against each other in JHS on Saturday. Transfers are the name of the game thanks to the NCAA. Thank God for it or a lot of teams would be in dire straits, especially Auburn.
  4. These discussions seem like a constant reoccurrence of a bad dream. We’ve had the same exact conversations for 5 yrs, even to the point of question whether the HC or the OC are calling the plays to which QB should be playing to the ineptitude of the WRs. De Ja Vue!
  5. What if anything has Hugh said on this? Has any reporter had the guts to point blank ask him what the devil he and Montgomery are thinking when they continually do this QB carousel? What advantages do we gain, what is the benefit?
  6. Hugh tells us pretty much all the time that this roster can’t compare with the rest of the West, in fact he says it weekly that we have inferior players. He’s haggard and worn down and looks worse than he did in his doom and gloom pressers he gave years ago when he had Ole Miss under NCAA investigations and Houston Nutt was collecting his cell phone records while OM was terminating him. He appeared highly agitated, frustrated and confused on the sideline last night. He’s got to find answers and get his team’s attitude in a better mental state fast. Get those AU sports psychologists on the AD staff working massive overtime this week, they need to be burning the midnight oil with the rest this coaching staff.
  7. My sentiments exactly. Our fans don’t have lofty championship aspirations this year, we fully understand the roster situation. We do however, expect to see a well prepared team and a coach that put together a plan to put the best players in position to be successful on the field. That silly QB rotation last night was dumbfounding and illogical to anyone watching it transpire. Why does this offensive scheme look so Gus-like, when defenses figured that crap out yrs ago?
  8. I think part of the issue with us fans is that everything “coming out of the complex” is rainbows and sunshine, and it gets perpetuated on the AU boards with even more glowing positivity to the point where fans have lofty expectations. It’s only now we’re realizing the portal transfers are nowhere close to the hype we heard about. All those portal and talent rankings and accolades for the wonderful job the staff did in acquiring the portal talent seems meaningless. The “complex” has a job to pump out positivity 24/7, I understand that and realize it’s necessary. It’s when the actual games are played on the field and we see an exponentially inferior product than we’ve been sold for the last 6-7 months that people get angry and begin questioning the coaching and the man in charge of this program.
  9. As long as they can gloss over some of the poor coaching, decision making and player personnel choices that were on display tonight and keep recruits on the hook until they ink in a month, there’s hope for the future. But our coaches have some ‘splaining to do if some recruits or their parents start to question the coaching.
  10. Everybody’s getting PAID now. I don’t think expecting competence and a modicum of improvement from week to week is asking too much.
  11. Everyone expected better performance coming off a bye week. Everyone expected to see better production after the moral victory over Uga. . We didn’t expect to see a poorly prepared team take the field OR the boneheaded QB rotation again tonight OR a defeatist attitude on the sidelines OR a haphazard, ineffective defensive performance. We expected more from the HC and his staff.
  12. In your defense, the incoming transfers were boosted up by a lot of the guys on this board that have their thumb on recruiting and post tons of stats about them and AU’s portal rankings, etc. I’m just as guilty of absorbing the positivity and accolades thrown on those transfers and thinking they would immediately boost the talent deficiency this season.
  13. Excuse me! He spent the bye week personally calling every players parent giving them updates and honest evaluations of where their kids are relative to the team and performance level. He also spent time building recruiting relationships and selling Auburn to try to get flip and much needed talent.
  14. I’m not putting all of this dysfunction on Montgomery. Freeze can veto anything he wants and HE was just as much behind this debacle as Montgomery tonight.
  15. As long as the committed recruits don’t notice how bad the coaching is, I think we’ll be okay. Maybe they won’t notice some of the boneheaded player rotation or the cemetery-like sideline demeanor right now.
  16. People are pissed awb, they will vent when the O&B are playing so poorly. Even more so when the Coaching and player rotation is so baffling.
  17. I wonder if a reporter will have to balls to ask him the flat out what he sees in this QB switcheroo and what he sees in PT that makes him keep the guy on the field? I’d like to hear HF’s response.
  18. They are bursting at the seams, haven’t you heard? The bidding wars are ON and Auburn is on full tilt. The mods and the board’s recruiting guys will give full reports next week. AU is killing it on the recruiting front.
  19. It’s ok, the mods will soothe the savage beasts next week with tons of crystals balls and glowing news about recruiting. All is well, a massive injection of talent is on the way.
  20. The man is worn the hell out. He’s never looked clean shaven or polished in appearance. But he’s worked tirelessly on building those all important relationships in our recruiting region. He’s pulling 16-18 hour days and nights burning the midnight oil evaluating talent and trying to sell Auburn to top prospects. Then he’s game planning, calling every players parents personally to give them updates and retain those relationships. He’s witnessing to his players, bringing them to the Lord and baptizing them. If he appears haggard, fatigued and low on energy it’s because he’s worn out.
  21. Yet Auburn fans praise the coup and propped him up like he would be the savior.
  22. This game and the decision making kinda cements what Hugh thinks. He has the power to veto anything Montgomery does and Hugh’s 100% behind this mind bender of and offensive scheme. Lol
