  1. This. Short of an injury or something, his performance this last season at AU is his floor. He’s gonna get stronger regardless of where he plays. Just hope that he doesn’t magically turn all-world, and certainly not at our cross-state rival.
  2. Prior to the beginning of last season, CHF was quoted as saying that JH was the best running back he had ever had on a team. Certainly didn’t see that backed-up in game performance last season.
  3. Trendon Watford came to mind when I read your original post.
  4. Artfully worded. “was exposed to” lol.
  5. Ummm…what?! She was a scoring threat every time she had the ball in her hands past the midcourt line. What an amazing, confounding pickup for CJH. Essentially replaces HSG’s productivity right there in sophomore form.
  6. Yikes, what a hot turd of a weekend. Prior to this series start on Thursday, I thought BT would right the ship and get this team playing winning baseball to the tune of an SEC record around or slightly above .500. With this sweep, AU will be fortunate to get within earshot of .500. This is a struggling pitching staff the likes of which I haven’t seen at AU in I don’t know when. I recall the pen having porous stretches in recent years, but this is whole ‘nother level. Sucks to be all but out of postseason play halfway through. Oh, well.
  7. Just came here to say congrats to OP for longest thread title I’ve ever seen.
  8. AD John Cohen is doing one heckuva job as the SECN+ color analyst on this game 2 broadcast. Wish he had a better game to call.
  9. Agree 100%, but honestly it’s probably about the NIL $$$ and not wanting to waste Rice’s time, as he wouldn’t be looking to transfer to be a backup.
  10. Trading Muss for Pope. Yes, please.
  11. Ummm….really? Yikes. I get that he’s been a serviceable coach at…BYU…and was a role-player big on Pitino’s team in the 90s. But I don’t see any way to spin this as anything less than an embarrassment of a hire.
  12. Not at all. I respect that it sucks losing all these games. But we’re right in several of these. Pitching was serviceable and offense fought back. Take away 1 swing of their bat and/or the dumbass routine bouncer at 3rd, we win this game and start off the weekend with a W. Apparently we have lost the last 2 games because of an error. That should be correctable. We aren’t totally outclassed in several of these losses. I believe there’s enough for BT to work with to turn many of these frustrating losses into wins.
  13. Those 2 runs scored on that error at 3rd sure came in handy for the Wildcats.
  14. I think AU will end up right at .500 in conference play, if not a game or so above. Butch will right the ship and get the Tigers playing winning baseball in the coming weeks.
  15. Like mama always said, “If you ain’t got nothin nice to say, don’t…forget to say it on social media.”
  16. Kinda like two years ago. I remember in this order: 1.) Getting decimated by Miami in the 2nd round. 2.) Jabari and Walker showing out mid-season, leading us to a #1 ranking. 3.) Thinking we were close to unbeatable and a shoe-in for the Final Four when #2 was happening. 4.) Almost beating what would basically be the beginnings of this UConn mini dynasty early in the season, but losing in Double OT. This season, I think I’ll remember: 1.) Broome flexing and showing out 1st Team All SEC production. 2.) Holloway busting. 3.) Yale. 4.) SECT trophy
  17. I’m VERY interested to see what if any progress Chaney Johnson makes next year. He flashed real potential to be a true producer as the season went on. He’s very gifted athletically, but he stayed composed and showed great effort and promise as the season matured.
  18. Please explain this. Does Bruce have a formal understanding with players he puts on scholly that at each season’s end their scholly is under review and if he doesn’t formally invite them back, i.e. “renew” their scholarship, then they know to jump to the portal? Or did you just mean “To return, Bruce & Co. have to want you to return?”
  19. Just saw where guard McKenna Eddings has entered the portal. Not a huge loss from the productivity side, but still an experienced player who got better there toward the end. This attrition is only a positive thing if the players jetting are replaced by better players. Time will tell on that, but my prediction is that CJH is on borrowed time and will not be an active employee of Auburn University this time next year. She just isn’t able to get roster traction nor build anything sustainable since she got here. And before anyone calls this post out, yes, CJH has incrementally improved the past 3 years, but there were myriad issues plaguing this team this year that shouldn’t be there in year 3. Complete lapses of focus and execution that would endure for whole quarters at a time. Honesty Scott-Grayson will have a fruitful WNBA career and imo is the reason why AU enjoyed the moderate success (LSU home win, winning a game in the SECT, and being selected to compete in the NCAAT) it did this past season.
  20. Time will tell, but imo the “old Bruce” would have held onto KDJ and AH out of blind loyalty. He seems to have figured out his deficiencies and is attempting to address them by punting KDJ and AH. Not sure about Tre’s decision.
  21. Well there ya go. Best of luck to him bulking up and finding his shot (and confidence) elsewhere. Wonder if this potentially pulls TD back in the fold?
  22. There are literally zero Steven Pearl folks that don’t appear on the front of the Pearl Family Hanukkah Card every December.
  23. I agree. Of all the SEC coaches since COVID, Oats has seemed to master the balance of portal and blue chip recruiting best. He hasn’t really “missed” on anyone. Has Bama in Top 10 in recruiting this cycle. He’s a prick, but he more than gets the job done: perfect for UK. Guess we are about to see exactly how committed Bama is to being more than just a football school.
