I believe the Alamo may be the place formerly called Rose Hill. Out in the country close to nothing, it seemed to be a BYOB tavern/restaurant. I recall going in there once or twice with my Dad. I believe it was west of Waverly, not in Lee County.

Pegues has moved to defense. I saw him on the field vs. LSU.

Two more victories this weekend over Gulf Coast and Snead. Scored 17 runs, I think. Hitting not as impressive as last weekend when we had 36 hits, but a good number of doubles and homers by Packer and McNemar. Worth noting that Penta didn't pitch.

I'm a little surprised by the starting lineup for the first fall game. Seriously, no Cox or Garcia? Majors as DP? Not sure what interpretation to put on this, but I hope it means all these freshmen can smash the ball. -

Good post. I'm struck by how young we are. With the departure of Dowell, we have exactly one senior position player (Godwin), and two seniors total. The leading returning batters seem to be Cox, Garcia, Packer, and Godwin. Can't wait to see the freshmen. Also, I noticed a photo on Twitter or somewhere that seemed to show Packer playing infield. (!) We had 307 hits last season. 170 of them are no longer on the team. -

I like your idea, just need to convince Dean and Murphy. We played Georgia Tech in Atlanta last year or the year before, but they haven't come to Auburn. -

We are playing AUM, who beat us last year, if memory serves. Chipola has a history of good teams, not sure where they are right now. -

And Lindsay Garcia replaced Bryant for a while. With Koepke gone, she is probably the returning player with the most innings at third. -

We did just lose our starting 3d baseman. Maybe looking for a fielder. -

Dowell is now a Minnesota Gopher, per robocoach. -
Georgia caught a break when either the Duke administration or the state of NC wouldn't allow Duke to host a regional; so Duke played as the 1 seed in Athens. That didn't work out well for the Devils. Then UGA upsets UF like they did in 2016. Florida wasn't a powerful hitting team; usually their pitching and excellent defense got them by, with the occasional bomb from Lindaman or Hoover.

The first three hitters in OU's lineup each had more homers than Auburn this year.

I noticed last night that OU's first three hitters (Jennings, Alo, and Hansen) had 79 homers between them. The team as a whole had 155, or something close to that. Auburn's 2016 team that I thought was a monstrous hitting team had 99 homers.

Not sure what happened to Fouts. Maybe the first batter (Mudge) getting a solid hit unnerved her after the perfect game vs. UCLA. Mason's 3-run bomb then turns out to be the difference. I would have walked Hemphill with first base open, though. I'll be pulling for FSU in the finals, though I don't think their pitching can hold OU down. I've never thought Arnold was that good. I expect to see the #1 girl as long as she can hang in there.

The series has proven more interesting than I thought it would. The play of Alexander for JMU has overshadowed even Fouts' perfect game, but she may regain the spotlight. I noticed yesterday that Patty has Taylon Snow slapping. Also pulled her for a PH in the 7th. Can't imagine that happening to her at Auburn.
