  1. Trying to get a coach with coaching and recruiting ties in Alabama. Probably realized after season started that he was not a good fit...just my thoughts
  2. Harsin has hands on this entire team. I do not think he would allow any coach to play lesser talented players if he knew others were better. Just my opinion. I feel it’s something else going on besides performance
  3. Run the ball, win the turnover battle, work the intermediate passing game. LSU has talent but imo is very undisciplined. Gonna be fight but I like our chances.
  4. But some here have said Auburn regardless of coach should never lose to a Sunbelt team, hell even struggle with one. We are in the mighty SEC., more talent, $, fans, etc. So was Alabama at that time, and the reason fans at UA have forgotten about it is because what Saban has done since his first year. Now do I think Harsin will duplicate that, odds are he will not. So don’t even mention that. But Auburn and the fan base should not be pulling the rug from under the man because of a hard fought victory against a GState team. And as I said earlier if Nix is executing and not overthrowing receivers, we are probably not even having this conversation. I also saw a coach who did not panic and he took the 3, instead of forcing 4th downs. Regrouped the defense in 2nd half and made a much needed QB change that probably was the key to the win. This program has to be rebuilt and it will not occur in 4 games. Games like this let’s Auburn know, we ain’t there yet, got to keep working or anyone can beat you.
  5. And players have to execute when the time comes. If Bo executes in the first half maybe none of this discussion is brought up. But he did not and CBH/BOBO saw it and made the change…props to that
  6. Chill bro just searching for clarification
  7. If anyone should be canned..it should be Jimbo and his crazy contract. Based on that money alone he should not lose like he lost today
  8. So Harsin should be fired based on today …that’s what the thread is about?
  9. Bingo. I mean what in the hell had Arkansas and Ole Miss done for real prior to today. Any SEC west titles? Playoffs? They both have had struggle victories against inferior opponents like Auburn did today. Even Lord Saban lost to LAMO in year one…maybe UA should have canned him
  10. It’s threads like this…I think Saban lost to Sunbelt LAMO in year one. Games like this either build or tear down, time will tell. Games like this happen every season in CFB, Auburn is not exempt. Take the struggle win and grow. Some of Y’all trying to fire the man after game 4…chill and relax, boys and coaches found a way to win. Let’s build on it
  11. Probably because he is younger, still playing at an elite level and does not have a first round guy lurking in the shadows. Cam blew it by making a poor choice at the wrong time. I think Mac was pushing him but BB was still solid with Cam, his poor choice probably made a close decision easier. Just my thoughts.
  12. Under Armour - Da Rock (Duane Johnson) has a line of merch with a Bull logo…
  13. GPSTD - Gus Post Traumatic Stress Disorder..@ this rate the DSMIV may need to add this as a legit disorder. Gus was what he was. I don’t think he classified his system as nothing more than Hurry Up No Huddle. The bus looked good at times from the outside but the engine apparently was always sticks and bubble gum. In the end it just caught up with him. Very curious to see how it pans out in my hometown for him.
  14. Not defending him but his offense and everything was just basic, and elementary as hell. I remember Cam in the Gruden interview explaining how simple a play was called in Gus’s system. It is what it was, very unfortunate some kids development suffered as a result of his ABC offense and coaching management.
  15. Not sure why anyone is surprised. His scheme was and always been elementary. Effective for a short period but not for the long term, especially when teams figured it out. It was often masked by great OLINE/HB play, most specifically good offensive linemen and good HB like Smith and Prosch Without good offensive linemen, you just can see the ills of his offense more clearly. Scary to watch.
  16. I would say Gus and Freeze possibly talked about Malik, after all they are close friends. I’d give Gus a feather for offering him the opportunity to be a QB, but give Freeze the credit for making him a QB.
  17. Simply put. He believed in his way. A lot of coaches are stubborn and stand by their philosophy, systems, etc. I have no problem with it personally, just be prepared for what happens when your philosophy and systems get you canned. He stood by it and it cost him one of the best jobs in the country, albeit he walked away with a nice check. I am sure Gus will look back on his Auburn career and ponder what could have been if I would have done this or that.
  18. I was being somewhat sarcastic but it has been hinted at in circles Saban was not too happy with Freeze and his antics at OM. You know don’t bring to much attention to the SEC with your carelessness. It puts everyone under an unnecessary microscope. Probably cause Gus was not as careless and foolish as Freeze and Pruitt.
  19. He can if he wants. Just don’t cross Nick for certain players or beat him on the field. End up just like Freeze and Pruitt.
  20. Neither does any other incoming freshman or RS. Has to be proven, but he has a great room of potential to work with. Probably far more than he had at Troy.
  21. He may have had a list of guys interviewed them all, checked his notes and came back to Williams. No one truly knows how the process went. I am just excited to have a true WR coach on board.
