Did he recruit Roc Thomas and is the lead recruiter for Joey Gatewood? Some of you are so emotional you make it seem as the man just comes to work and does nothing but sit in a corner. He has little SW leading the league in a few statistical categories but he can't coach?

Me too...Apparently Auburn can't do this can't do that. But hey Woody is still here and that kid that looks like Cam will be coming along in 2018 I think...less experience but at least the QB cupboard ain't empty.

Excellent points...particularly surrounding the 4 drives of 2nd half. IMO if any unit showed complacency in 2nd half it was the defense. But like you mentioned even though this was a win, there are still lessons to be learned about execution. Good read and on point as usual.

I am sure Auburn had something to do with after all Muschamp as well as Craig were recruiting for and selling Auburn as a program and a university. Let see how many Byron Cowarts follow Muschamp to USCe. Players follow coaches but the schools the coaches work for play a significant role as well. Unless I am mistaken Muschamp wanted one of the kids to come to USCe that committed with him while at Auburn, but the kid held firm to AU. Can't remember his name tho.

I agree....but some here argue that it's Gus/Rhett's offense/coaching not the QB's performing as well as needed.

IMO Going live will not do much for Jeremy..prior to last season he saw enough live game action for many to see what he could do, hence all the high expectations he garnered before the season started. I just think when the Nick left and he became the man he could not handle the pressure of being the #1 guy. All upstairs for the kid..

The only way an unproven guy can prove himself is by playing in a game. A lot of teams in the SEC have unproven talent, players, etc. Low expectations are one thing but when they lack logic it puzzles me.

Exactly go read some of the things Kirby and Saban had to say about their respective QB races. A log of uncertainty on a lot of teams particulars at the QB position. I just wish one of these guys would just take it...put in the work and seize the opportunity.

Always good to read some optimism. Apparently it was a rough outing for SW and Franklin...maybe the defense gave them hell today, which can be read many ways. Very interested to see how they both respond.

I doubt Stidham comes if Gus is fired as a result of Gogue retiring and a subsequent Jacobs firing...??? ....I think the kid ends up wherever the elder Briles ends up or his son...

When you guys say going live are you speaking in reference to tackling or throwing the kitchen sink at them from a schematic standpoint. Reason I ask is because several of JJ mistakes occurred when there was no pressure at all. I mean he literally threw the ball right to the LB against Louisville and Jax State.

1. Tough teams for anyone to beat those years, first year, played everyone tough except LSU, had UA on the ropes with 3 linebackers and a dead arm QB. After 2010 it was just these teams had better players after the exodus of a large senior class. QB - both starting QBs left after each season, 3 years three new QBs, 2.those recruiting classes were strong, but very weak on defense. No elite LB, CB, or DT, I would say Lemonier is the best defensive recruit Chizik has had. 3.whatever offense you run you need a better combination than underclassmen in all critical positions. RT, QB, RB, C, LT... not been in system long enough and just not ready, Personally I think he should have stuck with variation of spread offense.... 4.Brandon Mosley says hello, and he will have a compete 4 years at seasons end, pretty of Corey comes out he will be drafted, as well as Ford. 5. Ted Roof - need I say more. But let me say the defense in 2010 was lights out against the run and was probably the best situational defense I have seen, when they needed a play they got it. 2011, too much youth on dline, not enough defensive depth. 6. Depends on your interpretation of significant, Blake has gotten better, so has Reese, Mason, and Lemonier. We all have our opinions and I for one think Chizik bombed on hiring CSL as his OC, also as crazy as it is AU has been in every game this season, and has led in several of the games. Take away some poor play calls by the OC, untimely penalties, dumb throws by QBs, special team turnover against LSU, this team is easily 5-3 Or better. I have issues with the energy level of the team at times, and the constant personnel changes, but I am ok with him coming back next year...

Please answer a simple question. Would you be more likely to succeed if I gave you 6 months and a bunch of underclassmen or if I gave you over a year and a bunch of upperclassmen? Its a simple question about you Why is Roof and Gus making it work now opposed to last year???? Interesting...maybe the level of competition has something to do with it ....Really I have no clue, but when Chiz was the DC in peach bowl, players said it was night and day between Chiz and Roof, there was lot more attention to detail and core fundamentals under his practices vs Roof, not to mention they played a lot better...and were better prepared than they had been all season

It's Chiz and his offensive meddling, also Chiz is the reason Mosely overthrew Coates or why Frazier missed Omac in the LSU game, or why the QBs after all spring and summer have the worst mechanics I have seen from SEC QBs in a long time....or why they cant see the zone blitz on 3rd and 8...all the responsibilty falls on Chiz because he hired this guy....but I just don't think CSL has the stones to be a OC in this league
