  1. I heard that was Gus' strategy all along. "Stay away from those pesky 5* football players....who needs'em?" Instead he chose to focus on 2* players and be pleasantly surprised whenever a 4* would sign... And why worry about how AU ranks compared to bammer & thUga? They beat both of them, finished 1st in the SEC West, 2nd in the SEC and still finished behind BOTH of them anyway. Either beat them or don't beat them. Quit worrying about comparing to them...
  2. Maybe she just REALLY REALLY REALLY had to pee y'all. Dang!!
  3. Chaps my hyde! Wonder if they'll make me sit out a year?
  4. Yeah, I think I want to transfer to Clemson since Gus is still coaching Auburn.
  5. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA *gasp* HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!
  6. Thank you @JMR for your insights all year, through the bad and the good (if not AUsome). Between this and the all-access podcast y'all even make the tough times easier to take (kept me off the ledge after lswho) so I'm thrilled to enjoy your insights after this HUGE slice of football Heaven. War Eagle sir!
  7. Brooks & Cribbs (not to mention William Andrews) on a Dye, Tubbs, Chizik/Malzahn team? ...this might be a different conversation.
  8. I always felt like Fullwood would have had the same (or better) numbers as Bo.....if not for Bo. Bo was a true freak of nature in everything he did/does, but Fullwood produced ARGUABLY even better. Plus he did a lot of what he did hurting (dare I say, injured). The ONE knock on Bo was obviously his durability. My 2 tarnished pennies, Brent Fullwood is 1a.
  9. Oh, my issue isn't the game itself. I LOVED mlb growing up and have some of my fondest memories going to Fulton County Stadium & Turner Field. Knucksie, you mentioned, Dale Murphy..channel 17 WTBS & 750 am radio, the Braves had THE best team of announcers anywhere. I remember going to games where there'd be 1500 people there, they were so bad and you could hear each individual fan.....especially when the Mets were in town, MAN the mouth on those people!! Saw Nolan Ryan pitch...THAT was a treat! Deion Sanders was the fastest man from 1st to 3rd that I've ever seen in my life. I'd SO have loved to see a 100M dash between Deion & Bo. Even got to see a World Series game in person. And that brings me to why I hate the mlb (and pro sports in general). When they actually cancelled the World Series because the millionaires weren't making ENOUGH millions? They lost me. My emotional ties simply got cut. They don't care? Why should I care... It wasn't even a conscious decision on my part....I just simply felt nothing for the team or game anymore. It's nothing but a bu$ine$$ to them and there is zero loyalty to city, team, tradition. Well, those are the things that are supposed to make sports so great. Or so I thought. Now its *yawn* Unfortunately, college sports is rapidly getting there too. I'm just trying to enjoy it while I still can. Anyway...derailment over, sorry.
  10. Yeah, I admit that while Marshall wasn't a sterling passer, he was better than Hurts. However, I'm sure that with Auburn's QB development Hurts would have been a much better passer than he was at bammer......... ........ ........ BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAAA!!!! Okay, I couldn't keep a straight face.
  11. I'll have to take your word for Hurts but it's not like NM was the gold standard of ball security in 2013 - 14 fumbles, losing 6.
  12. I figured it was said in their best "Mongo" voice. You know.... "Mongo like candy".
  13. I don't disagree with you regarding how the bammers did it. And I believe the key was the physicality & running ability of Hurts. My opinion.... Had Auburn had a Hurts this past season, the offense would have looked a lot like 2013. Granted, his downfield passing left a lot to be desired, but I think a lot of people would say the same for Marshall's as well.
  14. Absolutely. I say "Death to the WR bubble-screen"! If it ain't beyond the LoS (preferably by 5+ yds) it's hard to call it Down field Passing.
  15. Oh, if I got started on my disdain for MLB we'd be in for a thread derailment of epic proportions!
  16. Thank you for the info. Though I've never been a fan of a true Air Raid offense because the running game's an obvious afterthought and if the QB is "cold" there's no plan B and Gus' (overly) run-heavy offense obviously left the passing game as an afterthought so when the D stacked the box there's no plan B, there seems to be great potential in combining these two. Maybe Auburn Football will be at the forefront of a new fad in offensive style...... We'll call it "The Plan B Offense". War Eagle!
  17. Early, upon announcement, I was lukewarm to it to say the least. However, the more video I see/info I read and IF Gus is true to his word at the press announcement, that CCL has full control, then added to the talent coming back I'm rapidly warming up to him.
  18. Hey, I'm all for what brings the "W"... no disagreement there. I have just always believed a dominant run game is more "aesthetically pleasing". Doesn't mean I'd bite my nose off to spite my face. That's one reason the NFL fell out of favor with me. Used to be Walter Payton, Tony Dorsett, William Andrews and better. Now its all about Tom Brady or Aaron Rodgers... Just ain't as satisfying to me. Just my opinion...
  19. That ain't my red solo cup of beer. BUT, if it works...then I'm all-in.
  20. Yes, I concur. Honestly, I actually prefer a dominant ground game and don't mind the previous run/pass ratio. 2013 was absolute Heaven for me....I guess I'm just old school. However, AU's failure was to not make the passes count. That is why we are here today. Personally, if CCL will maintain the same run game but actually develop QB's and add sophisticated passing routes, even if they still run a 70/30 run-pass split, I think we'll see a 2013 style offense again....just with the QB option being pass more than run. I'm cautiously optimistic.
  21. I watched that earlier. Man loves the wildcat for sure...
  22. Don't care about the argument but just noted what you said here. Personally, I would be just fine with this. Based on AU's recruiting rankings vs the actual on field product the last 3 seasons I'm tired of "great" recruiters who apparently are marginal coaches. It'll be nice to have a stud coach, on offense, for a change. Carry on & War Eagle!
