  1. There are still pro Gus people on here? Yes. Big fan of Gus. Just not our Gus. THIS Gus. He's much better at his job than OUR Gus.
  2. For $49M I'd keep posting on this forum even if y'all hated my guts. 😏 But, yeah, I get what you're saying.
  3. So, from what I'm reading, after players make major mistakes they simply practice "to correct it". There's no Bull in the Ring or Up & Downs or Stadium Steps. ...in other words there's no Fear. No wonder Stids smiles like a Cheshire Cat all the time. Consequences help ensure future improvement.
  4. Mikey said I'm one of the "cool kids". Thanks buddy 🤗
  5. IMO his biggest mistake was his loyalty to the BBQ Gang. Had he let Al Baby run the offensive show completely, AU would have had even more success. But, he hamstrung Borges with guys that (I believe) weren't on the same page and it conflicted.
  6. Oh, don't get me wrong. Like I said, the D has been hot garbage often since MSU. I just think we see an O pulling their weight this year and the D doesn't disintegrate like it has.
  7. And we all agreed the officials helped LSU mightily. That's one game I don't put on Gus or the team. Auburn was fine, for the most part. I don't usually blame officiating but that game was dubious.
  8. Totally agree. They both suck. Knew there may be issues on O, but D was supposed to dominate. In fairness, the D was fantastic earlier in the season. As the season wore on and the O was clearly going to let them down, you don't think it's mentally draining to deal with that? Yes, the D has sucked since MSU but I, personally, believe it's been emotionally taxing the last couple years trying to pick up the O's slack. I don't know this to be the case in Auburn's locker room but in my experience when one half of the equation (team) is not holding up their end it wears on the ones who are and I think it's harder to play good D under those circumstances than the flip side when the O was rolling and CEJ was dropping the ball on the D side. I just don't think the D has been "emotionally" there the last few weeks. Just my 2¢...
  9. Good stuff. Harbaugh took a while but finally has UM going and is about to run Cryer out with another "health issue". Scott Frost struggled this year but I'll betcha they'll be dang good in 2-3 years. Pat Dye took a couple years. '83 was his 3rd year. Whoever replaces Gus had better struggle a couple years and build a solid foundation and the fans need to understand that. If they dominate the first year in....God help them.
  10. Hey don't bring me into this mess.... 😉
  11. C'mon Mikey. Even YOU don't believe that's a good argument. Ole Miss....really? You're phoning it in like Auburn's Defense did last night. You've got more game than that!
  12. But somebody else's plan. ....not Gus' plan.
  13. I follow you. Mainly I'm referring to the gripes about lack of OLine & "larger" RB's yet AU has a plethora of top WR's and.....TE's(?)....
  14. I'd say though we love "stars", I've seen plenty gripes that Gus chooses stars over "needs". Seems this kid might fill a need?
  15. When your "less" options are covered and the coach/play-call doesn't give you "more" options to choose from, I guess it stands to reason it would be harder to play QB. I suspect Stids is a dang fine QB and probably quite bright. He's been underdeveloped, and hamstrung in this offense. Interested to see if any real lessons were learned from the last 5 mins of the aTm game going into this week. I doubt it, but we'll see....
  16. I used to hate ND (pretty common I guess...you love 'em or hate 'em) but for the last few years, as I've gotten older, I've begun pulling for them because in this day and age of Nothing's Sacred and Revisionist History and anything being "traditional" is pretty much scoffed at anymore, etc..... It's nice that they're still VERY traditional, which you confirmed with your comments about the lack of advertising, etc. Great photos. Thanks for sharing your experience!
  17. In fairness, those were 2 individual mistakes in 2 separate games. He only gets a handful of plays per year anyway and he's seeing his chance slip away so he's probably guilty of trying to do "too much" to impress.. Gus won't give him a fair Gameday trial no matter how bad Auburn is right now. Stidham made more mistakes and turnovers in the Tennessee game than Malik has made plays. Try something different.... ANYTHING different at this point. What's Gus afraid of? Malik might make a turnover and Auburn might lose a game?
  18. I don't think NM had anything to do with it. He was smart enough to workout as a DB to try and move to the next level. I think he would have been happy with maintaining the winning formula. My comments are squarely about Gus. Yes, he was trying for more balance but based on comments from before that Season (sorry, no link, just going by memory) Gus was trying to convince people that his offense could work for NFL wanna be QB's.....and he's STILL trying to convince people of that to this day. Exactly. With a pocket passer the zone-read handoffs are like a screen-door on a submarine.
  19. It's not for 2018's offensive struggles.... It's for 2015's, 2016's, 2017's & 2018. Plus for ME, 2014 as well because he had a formula that worked beautifully but insisted on reducing what made NM so good by working to make him an "NFL" quarterback instead. ....and ever since he's tried to fit square peg QB's into his round hole offense. I'm not going to say I "hate" him because that's just wrong but I am sick of him ruining the college football team that I love.
  20. As DC his defenses vs Gus' "better" offenses. Unless AU really comes out with something different, Pruitt will know the plays coming before Stids does. This will be a defensive game again. Luckily they don't have a Fitzgerald. I just don't see Auburn scoring much the way they are playing. And with 2 weeks to prepare, plus if UT's ever going to smell blood, this is their week.
  21. Well, they're 2-3 but their 3 losses have been to WVU, UF & thUga (all top tier teams UF beating LSU this past weekend). WVU is just playing lights out right now. Turnovers seem to have done them in against UF otherwise they might have put up a better fight. thUga was just too much for them as they probably will be for AU later. They did dominate both "lil sisters of the poor" teams they played. Don't know too many details beyond that but they are certainly not to be taken lightly after what MSU did. They're looking for a "big" SEC win and had 2 weeks to prepare. Plus Pruitt has owned Gus. If there's a chance for an upset, this is ripe.
  22. We all do Preach, I promise. I'd love nothing better than for the offense to come out Sat with a totally different look. Heck, I'd LOVE to see MW get the start....why not at this point. Just try SOMETHING... ANYTHING... different.
  23. I agree in theory. Unfortunately, we're stuck with Gus for at least another, or 2 years, due to the buyout. If this team IS (big IF) quitting on him, that's going to set recruiting back until he's gone. He may very well leave here with a recruiting mess too... I can't seriously see another big time WR coming here, he won't recruit (or at least play) the type QB he needs, running backs are okay but apparently they're not recruiting top notch OL so...
  24. Which one? I'm curious on the Fitz "TD". Boobee's fumble admittedly didn't have the best angle to overturn. However, I feel that over the top EZ camera clearly showed Fitz's back on the goal line with NO CHANCE the ball could have crossed it. Opinion on that one?
  25. I only gave "like", only cuz I agree. I try not to give facepalms LOL!
