  1. But they usually don’t. Don’t get me wrong, I’m happy with the end result. But it’s my hope that we at least clean some of this up. We don’t have to be perfect, but getting gashed on every play just isn’t acceptable.
  2. This kind of defense won’t hold Bama or better opponents to field goals. That’s the point. I’d rather not see us getting gashed all the time
  3. Maybe I’m missing something, but pointing to an SEC school making fun of Bo Nix doesn’t prove your point that he’s a house hold name. Not sure what you meant by State College, so can’t comment on that. And pointing to Bleacher Report doesn’t prove your point either. They cover sports. They should know the starter of an SEC school. They could probably tell you Buffalo’s starting quarterback. And memes don’t mean anything either. I can post a meme on the internet about Vandy’s starting quarterback and it appear online. Doesn’t make him a house hold name. I have to agree with Loofa on this one. Now, if he keeps playing like he did Saturday, then he’ll be a household name before long
  4. While I agree with most of what you said, I would argue against OP being a Bo hater. I think if you really think about, nearly his entire time here, Bo has been less than average. Only this season, IMO, did he start to become average due to his work with Harsin and Bobo. Then least week he slipped to his old less than average self. That’s all Cole has been saying all along. It’s his third year, and he was still having the same problems he always had. He’s objectively looked at his performance and been both disappointed and unsure about his future this late in the game. Saturday he looked like a completely different quarterback, and I sincerely hope this is him finally emerging into his true self, kinda like Cam did during his own LSU game. I’ve seen Cole’s posts this week, and he has given every bit of credit where it was due, including Bo. Go back and read his posts. He’s been praising him. But like me, he’s just unsure about him. I think MOST Auburn fans are. Here’s hoping to something truly special down the road. War Eagle
  5. Oh I agree 100%. I’ll never be okay with either of those things either. Too much love for Auburn and respect for its history. War Eagle!
  6. The games seem tricky too, capable of bias. Like, if we beat GA this weekend, that’s one thing. If we get blown out, then we just say, “Oh well, it’s GA.” Same for Alabama. It may be a while before we really know what we are. (In fact, unless we win, I may just count the GA game as a possible outlier to later be compared with the following three games.) But yeah, I’m in the same boat as you. Especially with this being Harsin’s first year.
  7. Maybe it’s just me, but you’re point about the O-line sometimes being good and then sucking is not only correct but seems to kind of apply to the entire team at different points. Bo was just kind of average the first two games, miserable last week, and played lights out, well above average this week, and on the road, prime time in Death Valley no less! Penn State and this game are good examples of the O-line being good enough. The defense is pretty spotty. Same for the receivers, though I personally feel like they are still better overall than they have been under Gus. Overall I think inconsistent describes our team best (and usually has). If we can put it all together and stop the stupid mistakes we might make some things happen
  8. Well, I gotta say, Bo is DEFINITELY looking a lot better.
  9. Well, so far this season is making me feel the same the last three seasons have made me feel…
  10. I would not at all be surprised to see Bo start. I would be unequally surprised to see him pulled. I can see it as a last test for Bo. Give the more experienced guy the start, especially on the road, and if he still shows the same issues, it’s TJ’s show from now on. That’s probably how I would do it. Honestly, based on what I’ve seen, I believe it’s only a matter of time until TJ takes over for good. It just seems like we’re delaying the inevitable.
  11. Hmmm…so it’s a talent issue. Can’t say I disagree with you.
  12. Genuine question though: how much of the offensive line is a talent issue vs a coaching issue? I guess to kinda answer my own question, any Oline of ours should be able to whip GA state…but then to not answer my own question, are they just not going to cut it or is Friend really dropping the ball?
  13. Maybe it’s just me, but running back seems to be the one spot that’s not a problem if there is one. But ultimately I just want coaches that can coach. Familiarity with the area is important, but a coach lives and dies by his assistants, so he should pick whoever he truly wants
  14. Yeah, with all due respect to mods, Titan flashes that mod badge if his feelings get hurt. I still have a warning on my page from 2015 where I suggested that we should not ask posters to post less, and he threatened to suspend me because “I came at him.” You gotta have thicker skin to be a mod. Having said that, I don’t think that’s what he was doing here, he’s just saying he’s allowing the debate. And if you guys don’t hear from me for a week…you know what happened. 😒
  15. This is what I don’t get. Corn coached for like 6 seasons at Troy, right? How did he all of the sudden become fire-ably incompetent?
  16. I’ll say this, it’s very weird and unexpected. As games have worn on we have regressed. I believe some of it is talent, but if we’re cutting coaches this early, I expect more to go eventually
  17. *quietly from the back row* yeah! We won’t stand for this!
  18. You guys better quit talking about this “potato gang”. Wouldn’t want someone to get mixed up in fairy tales that I can neither confirm nor deny. That goes for all of you. *stares*
  19. So, this is the first drive of ours I have see , but if this is how the game has gone…start DD?
  20. Some of y’all are freakin nuts. One loss to a top 10 team on the road with practically the same team we had last year minus some play makers and suddenly Harsin and his staff don’t know crap and we won’t make it to a bowl game. Good gracious. Sports may not be for some of you.
  21. Personally, I’m very optimistic. Obviously I can’t prove it, but I 100% believe Gus would have embarrassed and infuriated us if he was still the coach. Lots of questions, but I saw a team that has a ton of fight and potential. I think we can do big things this year, but we’ll see.
