I guarantee you if we started talking about Jimmy Rane being considered for President of the University or A.D. this board would come alive with criticism. But we're not looking at him through that lens. (Btw I was a Deion supporter from way back when you and I had a short exchange in 2019 iirc)

Is this the guy that had a really bad concussion last year? I was listening to a podcast that mentioned a guy from Oregon St having health concerns from said concussion.

It seemed most of this board hated him when Gus was fired and wanted him out of the way when hiring the next coach but we came crawling back with our hands out when Harsin sank the ship. This piece just gave a glimpse into the life of a man that had enough business sense to capitalize on his situation to become a billionaire and is doing some good things for his community, i.e., restoring Abbeville's down town and creating scholarships for kids. Not to mention all the things he has done and is doing for Auburn. I'm sure there are people that feel like they got the short end of the stick dealing with Rane in the past or even currently, idk. And yes, the video was one sided and I think most ppl realize that but why crap on the man unless you have something specific to crap on him about?

I believe Ryan White was back there first....iirc we had 2 Ryan's that played DB so it could have been the other one. (Ryan Smith maybe) From the telling of the story I heard it was the DC or one of the assistants that suggested Chris be the guy. Chris wanted to return punts all year but was passed over probably because he was a crucial part to our defense. However, late in the season he got his chance and was close to breaking several for a TD. It was really a no brainer to put him back there as his potential to return a punt had already been displayed in that very game in the first half.

I work with some guys from the area and they didn't know about Phillips. There's apparently not a lot of noise about this kid yet but I imagine that's about to change.

He's got a long row to hoe and I can't see him playing any other position. Who knows what this guy may overcome against all odds. Certainly a wait and see and don't have any expectations.

I wonder if we see him as a linebacker. Not sure how well he tackles but I don't see him getting a chance to play otherwise.

Just hope we keep Cobb. Other than that we shouldn't expect any 23's right?

@HAPvsOA gave you the podcasts I was about to link. The one negative take away I got was from one of my early favorites of the RBs, Burnette. He was disappointed Cadillac was sick and couldn't attend and he reportedly said it was too crowded. Even the staff apparently didn't think 200 were going to show up as some kids shared invitations with other teammates, allegedly. Lots of positives though and the new football complex played a role in wowing prospects.

Brunette is my type of RB. I hope the staff feels the same. We desperately need to reel in the Zion kid from Charles Henderson as well. These are the type of kids we keep missing on.
