  1. You know what they say - when there's smoke there's fire, and Clemson is a burning heap of recruits these days.
  2. There are always exceptions to the rule, but if you actually look at Nick Marshall's choice as it effects the long term, he probably would have been better off sticking as a DB.
  3. I never have really understood many of these recruits' desire to play RB when many coaches at the college level feel they would be better suited for another position. You see this with other players as well (Tae Provens to name one). You would think that kids like Joiner who are so talented and might have a chance to play in the NFL would take these coaches' advice and play at the position where they would be most successful on the next level.
  4. Curious E, what do you do for employment? Don't you work at Auburn?
  5. Except for the fact that 90% of the non-commitable offers are not like this. They are more of a way of a team keeping the recruit as a backup plan because the majority of "non-commitable" offers say things such as "this offer is contingent on you improving as a player" or some BS like that. Here is a good article I saw this morning on what a "non-commitable" offer really is. http://bleacherreport.com/articles/201519-college-football-recruiting-101-the-offer-game-how-it-all-works
  6. Can we also put a limit on the amount of acronym usage per post? Kidding (kind of)
  7. You're right. I'll hold judgment until the beginning of September.
  8. I have been a Gus fan and defender this whole time and have never advocated once that we jump off the Gus bus, but if we have another 8-5 season or worse, I will be jumping off the Gus bus. In fact, not only will I personally jump off the Gus bus but I will also throw a spike strip in front of the bus to take out its tires.
  9. Not to mention that we are starting to trial for some kids that we originally thought we led for like Armour-Davis. It's just all a very very bad combo of events. Since so many of our top targets are expected to commit in August, this summer will make or break our recruiting class. Gus better not be takin any freakin vacations anywhere this summer.
  10. I swear I feel like this recruiting season just keeps getting worse and worse.
  11. Something fishy is in the water. Sounds like Kansas is adopting Ole Miss's recruiting strategy. The people who named Auburn the most conservative school in the country clearly never visited Liberty University (aka Falwell U). Edit: And that post puts me at 2,000.
  12. They are sharing snaps so the other kid isnt necessarily starting over him and the other kid doesn't have any power five conference offers.
  13. FNL - Only one of the best shows....ever! I miss that guy.
  14. I think this is great news for us that he doesn't have any leaders any more. I have a strong feeling that he ends up signing with us.
  15. Sounds like they are playing a game of chicken. Which one transfers first? I could have swore that Joey made a clear statement recently that he wouldn't be sharing snaps next season
  16. That's funny - didn't know Allen Iverson was a QB coach.
  17. WTF???? How is that even possible? So someone gets an offer from the most successful college football program in the country and they don't even know about it?
  18. I don't disagree that Bo Nix's talents appears to fit in well with our scheme. My point was simply a response to your earlier statement that if Bo doesn't sign with Auburn, that the only explanation for this would be if there are internal issues on our staff. My response was simply to point out that Bo might feel like there is a better system or coach out there with whom he might have more success.
  19. Disagree. While its probable that Nix signs with Auburn, what if he finds a different offensive scheme that he feels like fits his skill set better than Auburn's does? There doesn't have to be any internal issues for him to sign elsewhere.
  20. Isn't auburn the best choice for everyone?
  21. Not bad, but 280 is a bit small for a DT isn't it? Especially if Steele is moving to a 3-4 technique. We trying to get Ole Miss style DTs who are really athletic and can sack the QB?
  22. Any idea what his measurable are now? I love that he has 3 years of eligibility.
