I admire Gus for being a straight shooter but it appears as if other teams often do a better job of telling recruits what they want to hear.

I think the question depends on the context of the games he would enter. If he would just be doing mop up duty no way you put Willis in as third string, but if the starter gets hurt and the game is on the line and that game could make the difference between a great season and another disappointing one you absolutely put him in.

If he is 100% healthy I would have to disagree. If not, I would probably agree with you. The only player I could potentially see passing up an injured SW would be Malik Willis, but the coaching staff is probably hesitant to burn his redshirt. WB looks far far from being able to play a meaningful snap at QB - if I had to predict his career I would say he eventually changes positions or transfers - but maybe not, hope I am wrong.

If Stidham gets hurt in a critical game I honestly wouldn't be surprised if Willis' redshirt gets burned. With SW out much of the offseason I have this lingering concern that he will never be 100% again.

I would be more than ok with multiple 8-5 seasons as long as Gus can give us a 2013 season once every 4 or 5 years. A lot of people on this site will probably criticize me for that, but I am almost 40 and haven't ever seen the level of success we have had since Cam so my expectations are fairly realistic.

This seems to be the case every year. I know we didn't have the best team last year, but we did wind up 3rd or 4th in the SEC when all was said and done so it is a bit odd to me that Gus still has to deal with this.

Kirby doesn't have the luxury of doing things how Saban does things. Saban can do this and be fine. Kirby hasn't established the program long enough. It may work this year but definitely puts a black eye on the program and I predict being an a hole won't help him in the long run unless he can find a way to get to 10 wins year after year, which he wont.
