  1. I remember watching them beat UNC the week before on TV when UNC was #3 and we all went "great...homecoming is going to be another big one" - which isn't what we thought at the beginning of the year. It was a fun season despite getting completely shafted in the final polls. We sat in the last row of the Upper section of the Sugar Bowl/Super Dome and the camera man kept letting us watch the Miami/Nebraska game during the breaks in the game on the monitor in his camera. We thought we'd won the whole thing that night.
  2. In the 83 game, Agee had over 200 yards and Bo and Lionel each had over 100. That being said Boomer Esiason had the most powerful arm I've ever seen on a college QB - you knew he was going to be a good pro. Bobby Ross was their HC and he ran the wide tackle six defense and the FB belly was there - Agee broke two long runs. It was homecoming and like the rest of that year's schedule, Maryland came in ranked 7th (as I recall) - except for GA Tech and MS State that year, it seemed that every time we played someone - they were ranked.
  3. had an Auburn plate ripped off my car in a hotel parking lot in Hazelton PA about 30 years ago. It was a cheaper plastic one and the only thing left were the pieces still attached to the screws holding the plate on the car. That was odd. Also had my car vandalized at the 1985 Auburn/UT game in Knoxville - not horrible but they dumped a Wendy's frosty on my front window and down the driver's side window. Seemed like a waste of a Frosty to me - left the cup. Hell, they won the game.
  4. it's the epitome of modern media - someone wrote a fantasy piece masquerading as a 'news article' all with the hope of generating clicks. Nothing more.
  5. my biggest takeaway is - Sports Illustrated is still a thing?
  6. I thought this was going to be a Quadrophenia discussion.....
  7. I'd be happy if they just learned to say 'you're welcome' instead of 'no problem' when you thank them for anything maybe that's just me
  8. We need Sterling Archer asking "Are we not doing phrasing anymore?"
  9. I'm in that video of the 1983 Parade - running along between two groups as a marshall - wearing a visor and a white Auburn sweatshirt - had never seen it until just recently but remember it like it was yesterday -
  10. AquaDom - two fish enter; 1500 fish leave
  11. Doug Smith - who played at East Carolina under Dye but was out of football when he eventually came to Auburn in 1982 to play for Dye again.
  12. excuse me....Hugh....my lawn needs mowing!
  13. welcome to following sports and sports coverage in the new millennium - "I know he said this but what I think he really meant was this" -
