  1. Is it Kiff’s fault or our administration that agreed to hire Freeze? We could’ve easily paid Cadillac to coach as long as it took to find someone that any other P5 school would hire, someone that wouldn’t fracture a fanbase.
  2. I hope it’s bad and severe enough to see Freeze never set foot on the plains. We sold out. It’s the same sicko no other FBS school would touch with a 25-foot pole, and AU is about to put his face on the front of AU Football. AU Creed? Rewrite that thing. I graduated a long time ago. I never thought I’d see Auburn stoop this low. And for those of y’all who’ll down vote me, my option is based on the whole Freeze resume, and it’s just my opinion. The bottom line is that people who really care, people with time, love and experience invested should matter…we don’t.
  3. VegasEagle, Is the mysterious coach really in play or are you just putting that out there? Lanning gave AU a verbal “no thanks,” a few weeks ago, but after reading the article below on si.com, I’m hoping that you are genuinely onto something Auburn, Dan Lanning have mutual interest in Tigers' head coaching job After this last go around with Bryan Harsin, one could argue that while the Tigers need someone who will win, they also need someone who can blend into the landscape a little better. Someone who can earn the support of the fanbase and also back it up with winning. Dan Lanning is a stand up coach who isn't a personality risk like Lane Kiffin or Hugh Freeze. Bottom line. On top of that, he's arguably a better recruiter than both. He has everything except a lengthy head coaching record. He can recruit, he's a proven winner in the SEC, and his personality would fit well on the Plains. I see that you’ve been on the board since 2011, so I’m hoping you know something. Freeze is not only a horrible choice for a myriad of reasons, he would divide the fanbase from the get go. I believe Lanning would team up with Cadillac (at some level) and totally springboard the program in a wildly positive direction.
  4. Compared to Freeze, I’m Great with either Grimes or Caddy
  5. Dan Wolken-USA Today Ohio State coach Ryan Day could be on the hot seat with loss to Michigan Forget Freeze. Michigan currently up 31-20 in the 4th Qtr. If OSU is really that crazy, we gotta make him an offer he can’t refuse
  6. September 1990 #3 Auburn Battles Back Against #5 Tennessee Auburn trailed by 15 in the opening seconds of the fourth quarter, before freshman quarterback Stan White rallied the Tigers with his passing. White completed 30 of 58 passes for 338 yards and three touchdowns with all three in the second half.
  7. So true, and I NEVER thought I’d miss Gus.
  8. Why would I need to find another university? I love AU and will continue to be active in CBB, MBB and other AU athletics. We have so much going for us. Our awesome fans showing out big time vs A&M with a 3-win team (at the time) only amplified the positivity that a new coach could inherit. IMO Freeze shouldn’t be the face of AU Football, for a variety of reasons. Throw out the prostitutes and other scandals, look at what just the strong possibility that he’s our next coach has done to the AU family/fan base on the day of the Iron Bowl
  9. They wouldn’t change at all. Freeze can not and should not be the face of Auburn football
  10. Or he heard about Freeze Seriously, Stan White is awesome. Great in the booth. One of my favorite AU players of all time.
  11. I’m anti-Freeze, no pun intended, but I didn’t say I would hate Auburn football. Good Lord knows I’ve made mistakes, but I’m not about to be paid millions of dollars to be the face of Auburn Football. Will I renew my season tickets, nope. Will I follow AU football on television, no. I can’t, personally, dismiss Auburn. Because of my experience there, they’ll always be in my heart. As I wrote, it’s not my place to judge the man. If he’s the face of the program, however, if the news is true, it does go against everything I love about Auburn.
  12. ^^THIS^^ How do the parents of recruit’s feel about a former pervert? I’m a life long Auburn man, but if it’s Freeze, I’m out. Baseball, Basketball, all other AU programs….War Eagle forever. It’s not my place to forgive anybody’s transgressions, but they were so reprehensible that they were on full display nationally. People will never forget, even if he somehow manages to win national championships if hired at AU. Is the Auburn family willing to sell our souls for potential championships to this degree? I will take anyone over Freeze. Cadillac, Jeff Grimes, anyone that will represent Auburn in the spirit that we hold. We could’ve hired the sleaze when they hired Harsin. Why now? We have an opportunity like no other time in AU history with the NIL war chest and unbelievable, state-of-the-art Football only facility. The powers that be have said that they’ll do whatever it takes to get a coach that can turn us around quickly, vs. the long, painful turn that the Tennessee program went through. Are we willing to risk all the good things that make Auburn special for Freeze?
  13. Amen! So happy for Coach Cadillac. So proud of him! War Eagle!
  14. Yeah, it’s frustrating for us, but how do you think all of our players feel besides RA? If he had any semblance of ability, we’d be up by 20+ Instead, he’s managed to take the enthusiasm that Coach Lac and his staff instilled. Whatever the outcome, his ability to rally this 3-6 thin crew, the guys that Harsin didn’t run off, is flat out amazing.
  15. Maybe. But we’ve been stalling around our 40 all night. Caddy trying to make it a two score lead. Just hope the field position for ATM doesn’t come back to bite us
  16. I know I’m on the game thread, but Cohen’s interview by Cole. He’s wasting his time if he has a 58 point checklist. AU has the opportunity of a lifetime, unlike any time in our coaching history. Coach Prime.
  17. If I recall correctly, Pruett had a top-5 and a top-10 class. Even ole brick-by-brick Butch Jones had top-10 classes. And the OLine wasn’t ignored by either
  18. Again, I love your optimism and sincerely hope you’re right, but the cupboard wasn’t nearly as bare in Knoxville. Too, Heuple was active in the transfer portal. On your other point, I absolutely couldn’t agree with you more. I’m not sure, especially with all of the noise from folks that live to pile on AU, who we could get that would be the right fit and turn us around in two seasons.
  19. I hope you’re right. Big difference with utk though. Pruitt left Heuple some talent, and a little depth.
  20. What hurts worse than getting curb stomped by uga, again, is that Harsin is leaving the cupboard bare. It’s going to take a long, long time to recover from GM’s last season when he quit recruiting to Harsin’s flat out lack of concern to recruit. The next ? years won’t be as bad, but not too different than SMU coming off the death penalty, only our wound will have been self inflicted.
  21. That was the time to go for it. Not a fake punt in our own half. We desperately needed 7. 14-3. Is Harsin playing to win or just against the spread?
  22. Absolutely. Could build a strong OL, former Auburn OL coach (Gus didn’t retain him), was well liked and thought of by players, won the Big 12 as Baylor’s OC last year, has them in the top 15/20 this year, could bring in his own staff (including Dell as a coordinator, surround him experience), build a staff with proven experience and recruiting chops needed in the SEC (as opposed to the majority of the staff coming from the Mountain West)…so many reasons. Jeff Grimes would be my main choice too. After buying out Gus and Harsin, plus all of the PTB trashing from Venables/Napier/others, that happened after the Feb debacle, I don’t see us landing a currently successful P5 coach (like a Kiffin, Stoops). Freeze is a sleaze. As for Dion, he brings a big name, but not nearly enough coaching experience.
